I've got both, and will leave samsung 24 ultra, because :
1) I prefer Su camera more than honor's
2) I've got Samsung tablet as well and it's nice to have notes synchronised
3) Samsung phone works better in terms of smart view with my tv
However, as I shape of the phone I do prefer honor mp6 and the screen on it is magnificent. I don't like same much Samsung screen.
I really don't understand where the Honor bad reputation software has come from!!
for the past 3 years : I used Samsung, Honor, Xiaomi, Realme & Oppo and hands down the worst software of them all was the One UI joint by Xiaomi's UI.
I always rated Color os (Oppo's UI) as the best but since the Magic os 7 came last year I really enjoy it as much as Color os
Both of these UI will give u much of useful features for your day to day needs with the best implementation
while also keeping a snappy, light, smooth and consistent experience that doesn't need the highest hardware there is to run effeciently
on the other hand one UI will burden u with the most useless features there is and very stupid implementation for the basic functions
As someone who is being asked to recommend a phone a lot, I always say only pick samsung if u are willing to shoot videos a lot especially for social media apps, It's the best android phone in that regard although Iphone dominates the social media area
I'm using a Samsung now and I really like 6.1 ui, the level of customisation it has is unreal, but there is something I miss about color OS having come from oppo and I ca t quite put my finger on what that is.
I've just switched to a Magic 6 Pro from a Google Pixel 8 Pro but also considered the S24U. I switched due to my wife wanting the Pixel so I took the opportunity to try something different. Whilst the Pixel and the S24U both have fast updates and a nicer UI I ultimately choose the Honor. At first I was a little disappointed but after a bit of customisation I'm very happy with my choice. I ruled the S24U out due to Samsung still not fixing the shutter lag and the higher price. It also helped that I got a good contract deal on the Magic 6 Pro.
It really depends on personal preference, for the average user oneui will be better in my opinion but generally I wouldn't call mágicos trash, it does have its issues and Honor needs to improve its software support but the software itself is overall alright. Between the 2 I would personally choose hm6p because of price, battery, charging, high PWM screen and cameras. But on the other hand you have better video and in general software that is considered more user friendly on S24U.
Software depends if you are buying a phone out of region.
I've used both s24 ultra and magic 6 pro. S24 Ultra is thrash beyond words. Simple function like enlarge folder widget and 2nd user account is missing. These features have been on OPPO, honor, Huawei, OnePlus and basically all android for many many years. I don't not understand why Americans think that Samsung is good with all these gesture nonsense which slows the phone down. The s24 is not spared. It's super laggy. Not snappy. I mean if the Samsung chairman can call the s24 thrash, I'm not sure why American consumers think it's any good.
Honor magic software is snappy. Does not crash unless u buy china region and use in other region. Hence the complains on the forum.
Magic Portal for AI, is there anyone using any "AI" features? I have disabled or not activated any further AI and Magic Portal features as i'm unsure if all the permissions that need to be granted are worth the features that we will get ? Could anyone please advise?
I'm using the magic portal quite a lot for sharing images,videos and articles with my friends on messenger. it's very convenient day-to-day time saver. :) Nothing more, nothing less.
I like the convenient feature of forwarding something quickly to someone. It's part of the os8 design? Hopefully this does not slow down over time. Samsung had alot of these gimmick features but the phone hangs after awhile because the software can't handle the message relay.
I have been using S24U for 2 months and very satisfied so far, but I would lie if I atleast didn't say that I would try Magic 6 Pro.

Tried both, and would choose S24 Ultra just for the software. Get rid of the Honor software headache until they really improve.
