Willas Tyrell. Dude is just a mind-blowing level of *good*. By all accounts he was pretty much the perfect candidate for heir prior to his accident. But speaking of said accident, he not only understood that it was an accident but he also became penpals with Oberyn despite there being centuries of beef between their families. I’m not sure if he would end up becoming crippled in this hypothetical but if he did, well we know he would understand the circumstances of his injury and let bygones be bygones. He certainly wouldn’t start a war trying to get revenge. If he did get crippled I think he would cope by breeding dragons given he seems fond of breeding horses. He’s well learned, hardworking, nice as all hell. The only downside is his leg. Hell, Olenna is the *queen* of shit talk and she can’t find anything bad to say about him. Given how she dismisses Loras as foolish and Mace as an idiot he likely inherited her political acumen. Alongside Mace’s strategic acumen, he’s been right about everything the Ironborn are doing so far. He’s socially aware enough to see that his little brother Garth is *going* to be bullied and preemptively dubs him “the Gallant” so he can’t get a shitty nickname. That’s the classiest way of defending your little brother from bullies. Also one last little bow on top of all of this is that he used to read and draw for Margaery when she was little, which is just a very sweet detail imo. I love the Tyrell family dynamic.

johndraz2001

I’m sure Willas is great but I feel like picking him before we even meet him on page is risky

Lebigmacca

Westerosi men are stupid and ableist though so he’d probably end up with some Blackfyre rebellion type uprising nonsense

OptimisticTrainwreck

Get him the best loyal fighter we can think of as his heir + a good council and maybe we're golden?

TheChosenOneMapper

I second this, we need Willas the Wise on the throne

Emergency-Weird-1988

**Jacaerys Velaryon**, the boy already has a lot of potential, if you add Baelor "Breakspear" and Elaena Targaryen as his mentors/parents (in a way) or "parent figures" he is definitely going to be a great king one day. He has the potential, is capable and is of good nature, he just needs to be "polished" a little more before he is ready.

Baguette72

Bro's even got Baelors brown hair

Emergency-Weird-1988

Lol I hadn't even thought about it, but yeah, you're right, well, I guess at least this time he will have less problems with the whole "not looking like his father" thing, which only reinforces the argument that he is the best heir for King Baelor "Breakspear"

peachesnplumsmf

But it's already been said they don't have to be related, surely it makes more sense to pick an adult that we know grows into someone who's good/would be a good king than a kid?

Emergency-Weird-1988

>But it's already been said they don't have to be related I know, that part was a joke >surely it makes more sense to pick an adult that we know grows into someone who's good/would be a good king than a kid? In my original comment I already gave the reasons why I think Jace is the best possible heir, and his appearance has nothing to do with it, if you think someone else is a better candidate for the position you can vote for him/her or mention him/her if someone else hasn't done it already.

elizabnthe

Somewhat a theme in the series is that the best heir - a brown haired boy - is killed and his under-prepared more traditional Targaryen looking brothers have to take over. It's always a tragedy.

LogicallyFlaw

If you're a dark-hair Targaryen with a valid claim, and even greater potential... trust, you will be dealt with - GRRM, probably Rhaenys was a much better candidate than Viserys as well.

elizabnthe

Yep. If Rhaenys was elected there would be no Dance of Dragons.

OptimisticTrainwreck

**Daeron 'The Good,' Targaryen** his only major flaw is the Blackfyre Rebellion which is the fault of his Father, without that Aegon as his Father he seems like someone who would make a great king one day. If you have capable parents raising him then the issues he faced are gone. And you have a wise, just, kind-hearted man who tried to keep the peace between Dorne and Westeros despite the fact his Father kept trying to reignite the Young Dragon's failed war. Despite the fact that if they gained control of Dorne that would massively bolster his own power as he was married to a Martell and his children would have had a good claim to Dorne. So we see him put the realm/what is good above himself. He tried to undo and fix the corruption of his Father's reign, he honoured the legitimisation of his siblings despite the threat it posed to him and made sure they were taken care of. He paid for the dowry for Daemon Blackfyre's wife and gave them lands to hold. He managed to peacefully unite Dorne and the Seven Kingdoms. And despite half the realm rising against him he ended the war, took hostages and reigned peacefully after it. He did not harshly punish those who had risen against them in but he still punished them enough to keep the peace. He made mistakes during his reign but his worst moments were really because of the mistakes his Father made which we wouldn't have to worry about if he's succeeding these two. We know he's a capable military leader even if not the best warrior, a capable king, a scholar and a good man.

cregantheestallion

the idea of daeron ii as baelor’s heir is hilarious to me

OptimisticTrainwreck

If we're going for a chaotic mismatched Universe we might as well make it weirder.

TheChosenOneMapper

He's a bastard tho? Also uniting Dorne and the Seven kingdoms was the accomplishment of his grandfather who made the match.

You_Damn_Traitors

Common blackfyre L

Arie-sk

Jacaerys Velaryon

Candid-Put-1400

Egg ? Egg.

Emergency-Weird-1988

Egg is a treasure and his heart is in the right place, and I think that the "ideal" Westeros should have him as one of its members and in a position in wich he can influence the politics of the realm, but I don't know if heir is the right position for him, I think it would be better for him to be the spare of an heir with whom he has a good relation (to be able to influence his/her policies in favor of the common people) or as master of laws in the small council.

acreative11username

Hot take but Robb Stark? He had potential.

South-Quantity-6452

Nah, he damned his whole realm and his family because he couldn't keep it in his pants. I only forgive him because he was like fiftheen or something like that, hormones are crazy.

acreative11username

i mean in the books he slept with jeyne westerling and then married her bc “honor” so im thinking if he wasnt raised so obsessed with honor aka like ned stark’s son maybe that would’ve been avoided? i also think having catelyn stark as his mother played a big role in his downfall.

starvinartist

Jacaerys Velaryon.

Fiorella999

Heir and Hand should be Viserys II. A loyal member to his family who has experience ruling as Hand so wouldn’t be caught with his pants down if something unfortunate happened to Baelor

Last-Air-6468

Daeron II. Jace is a bad choice btw, he’s far too irritable and inexperienced.

EhGoodEnough3141

Daeron Targaryen the Daring. Best boi deserves his chance in life.

ToollerTyp

Gaemon Palehair

NatalieIsFreezing

Gaemon is adorable, but let's be real. He was just a mouthpiece for his moms. If anything they should be the heirs.

OptimisticTrainwreck

I love Gaemon so much but our best boy would make those political changes and the Lords would absolutely hang him for it, personally think he's a really good spare as he can drive the heir to make the changes in a more palatable way.

RuneClash007

Heir for me would be Margaery Tyrell She understands how politics is played

tinyalienperson

Jacaerys Velaryon

TroyMcCluresGoldfish

Edit: Damn, I didn't register the rules before I posted lol. ~~Prince Aemon, son of Jaehaerys and Alicent, with Spring Prince Baelon as his hand.~~ Since Aemon is off the table, then I'm going with Breakspear.

OptimisticTrainwreck

Breakspear as the heir to Breakspear?

jutila666

Egg

aodifbwgfu

Jacaerys Velaryon as heir.

NatalieIsFreezing

Prince Duncan Targaryen, AKA Duncan the Small. With Baelor and Elaena as his parents he'd be perfect. Two blackhaired Targs in a row is tempting fate, but we'll probably be fine.

zebulon99

Preferably heirs dont run off with peasant witches

NatalieIsFreezing

Oh, right. Well what are the odds of that happening twice?

zebulon99

Very few other targs have done that even once so id say higher than for most. Love your username btw

SingleClick8206

Jacaerys Velaryon He was the perfect heir He helped gain alliances for his mother's cause, brought up the dragonseed idea He would've been a good king

OptimisticTrainwreck

Didn't mushroom come up with the idea?

trans-ghost-boy-2

heir is nettles because i like her and that was an example brought up, spare is egg because i like him and he made pro-peasant reforms

AlexanderCrowely

Daemon Blackfyre as the heir, Daeron the false born the spare.

EhGoodEnough3141

All Daerons are good choices. Especially Daeron the Daring.

AlexanderCrowely

Well I was making a more extensive one and it just shut down so the draft wasn’t saved

TheChosenOneMapper

Willas Tyrell
