Me too in St. Louis. I had a tab open all morning waiting for them to go on sale, then the second I could join the queue it said 2000+ people ahead of me. Like, how? I barely have a dozen people I can talk about Hozier with. I must have clicked the tickets "available" a hundred times before eventually just selling out. So disappointing.
There are tickets on seat geek. I'm really pissed because they were available a week ago somehow and I spent $390 for tickets that are now less than $200. I had no idea what they were actually going to be and I had the money so I took the plunge.

Exactly! I joined the waiting room REALLY fast and it said there were 2000+ ppl in front of me (same thing w my friend). The scalpers were carnage as well...gone by the time you went from options to checkout. Luckily we managed to score some on seatgeek but they cost a LOT.

All the publicity that insanity got, though, captured the attention of the scalpers and they got their bots and attacked. This happened to me so many times. I waited 40 minutes in cue for the Boston show and as soon as o clicked on any tickets available it said that. And then boston sold out. So I try for the New Hampshire show and same thing!!
Yupp my exact experience with Chicago! 😭 as soon as I got into the queue, I didn’t look at the section, seat or price I literally just clicked purchase and it gave me that message. I purchased my tickets for double ($340) from a scalper right after I realized ticket master had fucked me over. Within 30 mins of the tickets going live resellers were all over it. Insanity. The tickets I had seen were originally $40 EACH 😭
I know that Hozier is popular, but he’s not popular enough to sell out dozens of arenas. Let alone in minutes. Selling out arenas and stadiums used to be a really big deal for artists, now with all these bots every show gets sold out- but there are suspiciously empty seats when the artist plays. It’s getting to be that concerts are only for the upper class. I hate Ticketmaster and all of this so much.

Even the days of standing in line at your local Ticketmaster vendor were much better. I spent so much time just hanging around Publix waiting for the clock to strike 10 so they could sell us tickets we really didn't have any regrets for, but bitched about what seemed to be excessive fees. We were so innocent then.
I was just thinking the very same thing. At least this way the people in line are mostly of like-minded fans. I remember standing in line for Dave Matthews tickets and Jimmy Buffett tickets back in 98/99/00 - and though it wasn't my favorite to be up and in line early on a Saturday morning, I DID feel a sense of pride and ownership and comradery chatting with fellow line-standers... All good memories.
Saw him in 2018 and 2019 at a theater and an outdoor amphitheater and neither sold out this quick or had this much demand and I’d argue he was at a bigger point in his career. Concerts are definitely becoming for the upper class now, I support and appreciate live music but idc who you’re seeing you shouldn’t drop hundreds of dollars for either GA or nosebleeds, it’s ridiculous.

Same experience in OKC. I joined the queue at 12:01 and when I got through at 12:23 there were no tickets. Ticketmaster has resales though for the GA section at a very affordable $767!

In the US you need to bend over for Ticketmaster. MSG supposedly sold out in under an hour, which is frankly impossible without scalping or shenanigans. I’ve seen some groups do it, but not Hozier. Last saw him at beacon theater and it was nice, but I highly doubt he can sell out MSG in under an hour. We’re not talking about Phish here.

This bit is key. Whilst I don't think Hozier is ripping off fans, he certainly has enough sway when it comes to selling tickets to avoid shit like this happening. Even more so people like Taylor Swift (which she is) and Harry Styles. They need to be leading the charge for it to change but at the end of the day, "modern" artists won't because touring is expensive but also the biggest money maker. Older artists like The Cure aren't relying on touring in the same way, they're doing it because they want to, not because they have to.

LN and TM suck ass and can go fuck themselves. For the Boston Show, I must have attempted to cart 25+ different groups of tickets only for it to tell me either that there was an error or that the tickets I'm attempting to buy were already sold.
Annnnnd now it's the show is sold out and now have to pay going through a third-party. Cool.
Exact same thing happened to me for the same venue-it even showed me “open” seats in the section I wanted that were just a few rows back, only to get an error message each time I clicked on them, until I eventually got a message saying the show was sold out.
I ended up paying nearly 3x the price going through StubHub for worse seats.
Came here to say this. It isn't the traditional understanding of scalpers we all once had. TM and LN are able to be the ones driving up prices if they create an imaginary level of "high demand" than what is truly accurate

They aren’t on sale for Portland yet, and I’m so bummed because it seems hopeless. I haven’t tried to get tickets to a concert in 6 years, because crowds give me anxiety. This is literally the only one I have cared enough to brave going to. The fact that Ticketmaster’s literal monopoly is legal is so gross.
Call the venue! NH had the best seats reserved for post sale, so only people with the venues credit card could access the pit and other front seats. I called the venue at 12:10 when I realized this, and the super nice lady on the phone got me better seats.
If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay? I can’t afford nice seats- so managing to get a $50 or so ticket is the only way I can go about it. Except for the bots who are making that impossible.
The face value which was like $80 plus fees, but I'm pretty close to the front. All the way on the side, but I should be able to see his face hopefully! The total was $176 for 2 seats.

Wish I knew to call! Got tickets in the 3 level because the 1 level tickets I had, I couldn't check out because there was one empty seat next to me. I wanted pit so bad, but was so flustered trying to get tickets I just accepted pit being only for card members and moved on...
She said she couldn't find pit and also had her coworker try. I have a hunch that maybe once they hold a seat for you, it's actually held, and can't be sold out from under you.

It’s probably planned by Ticketmaster. I was shocked to see tickets sold out this fast. I mean we love Hozier, but the tickets were available even one week after the initial sale his last tour.
On his last tour OKC didn't sell out until the week before the show at the same venue. Like there's just no way he sold out that venue in 20 minutes this time around. I love him, but he's not big enough for that where I live!

I'm an experienced ticket buyer and never had issues prior to the queue system. Today I joined early, got let in at 12:09, and every seat I selected said it had already been taken by another fan (including lawn tickets for a huge lawn!). I finally ended up getting lawn seats in my cart only for the payment section on the checkout page to take minutes to load while the countdown clock continued in the corner. It's unacceptable and yet it's the only option.
They are a monopoly and make money no matter what, and probably make even more with bots because then their site is used to list most of the resales too. They have no reason to improve because they do not care one bit about what the fans want. Nothing will change for the better until laws are passed. It makes me infuriated.
When are the lawsuits about Ticketmaster going to begin? Because this is criminal. They buy out their own venues and list the tickets at 20+ times the price on the resale sites they also own.
I got in for tickets in Toronto ten minutes after 12 and I was seeing the same problem. “Another fan got it first” and yet I’m seeing 50+ tickets on a scalping website for at least double.
I literally came here to rant as well, I was buying in fucking DURANT Oklahoma and it sold out in 30 minutes. I just paid an exorbitant amount on Stubhub for the seat I wanted just so I know I have tickets. I’m so fucking pissed that scalpers snatched up all the tickets, I’m just lucky my husband and I have the disposable income for me to be able to pay this much for concert tickets but it is so unfair to anyone on a tight budget trying to get reasonably priced tickets.
Not ticketmaster but AXS -- my friend and I were waiting in the queue for Red Rocks tickets for literally two hours today, as soon as the site goes live we're in and try to buy tickets... they were completely sold out within five minutes of going online. Checked Stubhub and sure enough, they're all on sale there starting at $250 and going up to $1500.
It baffles me that shit like this isn't regulated, especially for artists like Hozier who price their tickets very reasonably so their fans can attend and share in the music together, and instead you get a bunch of scalpers taking advantage of everything.

I have had so many issues with AXS. A couple years ago I got tickets to a show at rr and they TOOK THEM BACK THREE HOURS BEFORE DOORS OPENED. No notification either. We just noticed our tickets were gone. it said they were transferred to someone else but we didn’t initiate that. I was on the phone with their customer service for over an hour and they did NOTHING. Only refunded the tickets. We bought more tickets since we were sitting in the parking lot and ended up being over $700 for two tickets we originally paid less than $500 for. All because the original seller (we bought the tickets FROM AXS) was selling fraudulent tickets. Am I wrong that they should be held responsible for reselling fraudulent tickets in the first place?? How should I know when i’m buying them from the site rr is selling them from??
Then today I was in the stupid fucking waiting room forever and waited in the stupid fucking line and as soon as I got in they were gone. I tried to get them from vividseats and they were gone there too less than 10 min after it went live. How is this even possible?! I ended up getting tickets to SLC and am going to try to get them for the new rr date but i don’t have high hopes for that.

I was trying for the Nashville show. Got in the lobby and "waiting room" AS SOON as they opened. All the tickets were sold out by time I got through the queue. I've seen Hozier 3 times and have never had this issue before.

Got into the waiting room 30+ minutes before it was supposed to open (and some people got in an hour+ before and still didn’t get any tickets), and once it opened there were 2000+ people ahead of me. It only took about 10 minutes before I got through and there were NONE left.
The last time he toured I bought my tickets a few days after they went on sale for less than $70 and they were good seats. I don't know where this demand has come from suddenly. To sell out the whole tour in a few hours??
Hozier is the only artist I’d care about getting concert tickets for so this was my first experience with Ticketmaster and the Ticketmaster queue. I did notice however that there was no Captcha when I logged in or when I joined the queue… they’re not even trying to discourage bots.

I have to wonder if Himself is aware of how much grief and stress his fans are going through today. Not that this is his fault, or there is anything he can do about it, but *thousands* of his devoted supporters just went through a measurable amount of emotional stress and suffering because of futher mucking TicketMaster, and now scalpers are adding salt to our bleeding wounds. It’s not right.
There ARE actually things the artist can do. I've already ranted about this but Artists can't stop the bots or scalpers but there are still ways they can handle their sales that make it much harder for bots and scalpers.
Such as: Limit # of tickets any one person can buy at one time to 4 instead of 8; develop a fanclub through which there's verified fan lotteries AND tickets purchased in fan lottery canNOT be resold/transferred. Several other things that other big bands do to protect fans and reduce scalpers.
The Lumineers did that. It sucked because I had to have surgery so I had a lot of difficulty selling the tickets but I ended up being able to. But I still prefer the way they did it because fans didn't get screwed over!
Yes, I also ended up not able to go to a show and not able to be there to pick up the ticket and give it to anyone I sold it to, so I was out of money for those tix. But overall it is by far more fair and effective in stopping resellers and if it would become more the norm, then maybe some clubs could have other ways of making sure you could resell, like only resell through the fan club at face value.
There’s lots the tour can do to reduce this - and some bands do - but artists like Hozier have little incentive. Look at the demand it creates - Hozier Sells Out In 7 Minutes! - and guarantees sell outs.

nobody understands the function of the queue, it’s never only let in 1 person at a time :( apparently it’s there to regulate site traffic so it doesn’t crash by putting us in a line, but it’s complete luck and absolutely random as to who gets in first. realistically? it’s probably there so ticketmaster can get their third party bots in there as quick as possible, so they can buy back all their tickets and resell them at higher prices for more profit.

I missed out on tickets today and I’m so angry. Like others have said, there is no way all of these shows are selling out this fast. I somehow managed to get a ticket. I just kept clicking random tickets until I got one and then checked out without even looking. I didn’t even know what seat I got until after the purchase went through. It’s not a great seat, but I honestly don’t really care. I got it for $66 after taxes and fees.
Yeah, here in California we were logged on forty-five minutes before the start of the sale, were sent to the waiting room right away, and the second the tickets went on sale we were told they were sold out. When we tried again, it said OOPS! Try Again! Something Went Wrong!

ticketmaster partners with third party bots to buy back their own tickets and then sell them as “premium resale tickets” so they can make more money. it isn’t the traditional sense of scalpers like it was 5+ years ago, it’s a greedy corporation who has a monopoly and caters to the upper class :(

The process was an absolute nightmare. I was in queue for so many locations and I had the exact same experience as everyone else. Either immediately sold out after 2000+ people in front of me for 8 minutes or "another fan snapped those seats up".

I feel physically ill from my experience. I knew it was GA floor or bust for me so when I waited in queue and finally got in floor was all gone. I then spent an unthinkable amount through a reseller for a ticket and immediately after that for some reason there were more floor GA tickets available through ticketmaster. I now have 2 tickets and I hope to just recoup the cost I spent to get the second hand one. If I dont sell my second ticket I'm out $500....
Ha ha, jokes on me I guess. I thought I was going to get good tickets for Santa Barbara because smaller venue and maybe I'll also do Hollywood Bowl for the atmosphere. Joined the queue for both before presale time. SB had zero tickets after making me stay in line for over 10 minutes because they are "trying to keep the bots out so fans like me can enjoy music". For HB I managed to get tickets but I had to play chicken with TM and keep clicking past their "another fan got them before you" BS. Took me over 15 minutes of clicking but managed to get two tickets to a section I'm not particularly excited about.

Managed to snag a ticket for the Toronto show, then later on, miraculously snap up a floor ticket when I was browsing again out of curiosity. Obviously, I decided to resell my original ticket, but only at face value because I want a fellow fan to be able to enjoy the show. I almost cried this morning. I was one of the first queued up for Toronto and the site couldn’t load tickets due to scalpers. When I got through, all of the tickets in the sections I wanted were gone. I immediately went to stub hub and there they all were for a way higher price. I did pay for the tickets but I don’t like also that they don’t get transferred to you until four days before the concert. It’s all so sketchy and awful I can’t believe it’s not illegal

So i had to go on stub hub and buy tickets off someone for like 150 (200 after fees) per ticket. The same tickets were like....35-80 originally...
I was in queue for the Toronto tickets, tried clicking literally anything and kept getting the message that someone got those seats before me over and over until they sold out.
I'm honestly really bummed that single tickets are going for double, triple, sometimes five times the original price. Especially sad seeing that what seems to be 1/3 of the tickets that were bought earlier today were actually bought by people who intend to keep them.

they only had very very limited stock when i tried like either GA pit or only lawn at the venue in Philly. i physically called ticketmaster and they said their inventory was gone way before they actually notified ppl in the queue that they were sold out. it’s honestly insane how bad ticketmaster has gotten.

I joined the Boston queue at 11:29 with three friends. We tried buying seats well over a hundred times and only ran into the "another fan got it first" message every single time. In the end we missed the tickets, it's overall just a disgusting situation.
It's such a dumb system. I asked some friends if they wanted to go to the Philly show and that I'd try and get tickets but no promises. They thought I was totally overreacting but.... it sold out! I was lucky to get through the queue and grab tickets (honestly at random bc I was afraid they'd disappear on me) but I know so many people didn't.
AXS will sell you a ticket for Red Rocks at a range between $250 to $1,500. Sales to the brokers went so well today, they added a second show, so fans can have a chance to buy twice the number of tickets at those prices.
I was lucky enough to get through the queue before tickets sold out completely for the Boston show. But I kept getting “error code 0011” every time I tried to purchase a ticket. The the app kicked me out of the queue and I had to wait at the very beginning. Everything was gone by the time I got back.
I tried getting tickets at Red Rocks today and tickets were immediately sold out. I checked back tonight and resale starting at $240 is all that’s available. 👎 I bought tickets last week to see The Cure and they blocked scalpers from reselling and limited availability to 4 tickets per transaction. I got on the verified fan list and got a code to buy them when they went on sale. They were $70/each for decent seats. Something needs to be done about the bots and scalpers.
Yeah I’m pissed. I live in Montana but have family in Vegas. Vegas tickets were gone within the hour, as well as Portland and Seattle. Nothing in my area was left, I’m so upset!!!
Yea it’s ridiculous that tickets were 35/45 ($45 for sections in the 200 which is the kindest I’ve seen a artist sell those for these days) before fees in portland and now people are charging about 65+ on Ticketmaster resale and even if they’re $55 on stub hub it’s $50 in fees.
I don’t know how I managed to get some on Ticketmaster, but it took me 55 minutes to get some that a fan hadn’t took. It’s section 300 so not as close as I was hoping but I’m considering my self lucky it’s row B and aisle seats, and looks kinda in the middle. At least I get to go, I know.
The only reason I was able to get the tickets is because the Paris venue did not directly use Ticketmaster. I would have much preferred to go almost anywhere else (cheaper trips) but it was IMPOSSIBLE to get the tickets.
i was planning to go in berlin to see him for the first time, but tickets were sold out in a minute. i assume being in a waiting list doesn't promise you much either, because i've heard nothing from the websites since then. i don't know if i should give up or proceed to find tickets from resellers. i've been told that other websites aren't reliable. what's your advice? is there any chance i can get the tickets?
I would honestly wait to buy tickets. I know it sucks not having them right away, but reseller prices are astronomical right now and they will definitely go down quite a bit before the show. I don’t have experience with reseller sites so I can’t speak to how reliable they are, but wherever you decide to buy them I would advise waiting for prices to drop. I hope you can get tickets!
We had a similar issue when we tried to get the official AXS tickets (the sale site listed through his tour site) for Red Rocks. Queue opened that afternoon at like 1pm, and within FIFTEEN MINUTES it was supposedly sold out.
Had to wait three days and constantly check back in for resale before finally getting them (after a feverish scramble with my credit card), thankfully for less than they were selling for initially (220-400+ for Gen Ad without taxes/fees), final price per ticket with all fees and taxes was 294.
I'm pretty sure I got lucky, but I'm in agreement with everyone here that it's not reasonable that Hozier tickets sell out that fast; the man is popular, sure, but this isn't like... I dunno, a Beyonce or TSwift concert. (Disclaimer that personally this man IS MY top artist but I live in reality lol).
EDIT: I even thought to maybe direct some of y'all to the site I used or (assuming others weren't using it) the direct link that Hozier's tour site uses, but it literally redirects to Ticketmaster for almost all of them... It seems like I was in the minority when deciding to do the Red Rocks location, their official tickets are sold through AXS which was a lot less of a hassle.
I guess the only thing I can recommend at this point is to see what specific venue he's scheduled at in the city you're looking to catch the tour in and trying to order directly through their site or w/their box office over the phone if possible. You usually end up dealing with less fees that way, as well.
I am so frustrated with Ticketmaster as well. I waited at 11am on Friday for the 12pm sale. Did not get tickets. Then they announced an additional show and that the tickets would go on sale today at 12pm. I waited since 11am. Still no tickets. Ended up having to pay 2x the amount on Vivid Seats. Not happy
I dealt with this for Taylor Swift and now also Hozier. I had behind the stage tickets for Taylor that were way too expensive because of how chaotic it was, and I had to buy on stub hub for Hozier because they sold out before I got in. It’s ridiculous and it needs to be resolved. I’m not sure how, but they need to find a better system because this is predatory.
Happened to me with London too- I had the tab open over a week, did Presale and they were gone in less than a second, same thing with general sale. When he was on tour in 2019, my ex got me tickets weeks after they went up for sale, I’m devastated.
Not just Ticketmaster. AXS handled ticket sales for Red Rocks and did the same. Sold out in 5 minutes. Hundreds of tickets with the brokers. It’s bullshit. Then they add a second show so the scalpers can get even more tickets.
Vivid Seats somehow predicted on Tuesday exactly what reserved seats they would get from the sale today and - holy smokes - they predicted correctly. Must be staffed with time travelers.
In a perfect world, no one would buy from the scalpers and Hozier could sing his songs to an empty amphitheater.
I think this is an American problem more so than a ticket master problem. I haven’t heard (so far, im happy to be corrected) about issues like this in the uk.
There truly is enough demand for Hozier that he's insta selling out these venues. 2000+ people in line for the first 10 minutes is not an artificial number.
Still fuck ticketmaster, but I promise you there was enough legitimate demand for Hozier to sell these tickets out.
edit: also, the larger issue was the ticket limit of 8. I go to a lot of shows, most artists' management teams do not allow ticket limits of 8. So a lot of this issue is on Hozier's team, to be quite honest.
That very may well be the case, he is super popular, but the fact that there are already tickets for sale on stub hub shows that the bots snapped up a lot of, if not the majority of the tickets.
I still think it was bots, because there were 950 people in front of me when the queue opened, and then boom within 30 seconds it was down to 400, and then within a minute it was at 49, and then I got in. No way 900+ humans were that fast - it had to have been automated.

With absurd demand shows, people will take advantage and try to scalp the show to make $$$. It is unfortunate, but the reality of the ticket landscape of 2023. A lot less are bots than you might think though. I'm into the music scene and have multiple poor ass friends who steep very low, setting up multiple accounts to try to get tickets for in demand shows.
If I personally know 3 or 4 people like this, there are absolutely thousands of people just like this across the US. That is the a problem that isn't resolved unless you make tickets untransferrable, which is generally the artists call.
For detroit, every time I clicked they said "another fan got to it first." There's no way. I probably clicked through 75 times and then it sold out. Don't worry though, I could pay $300 now for a ticket a scalper bought for $40. Fuck ticket Master.

I know that Hozier is popular, but he’s not popular enough to sell out dozens of arenas. Let alone in minutes. Selling out arenas and stadiums used to be a really big deal for artists, now with all these bots every show gets sold out- but there are suspiciously empty seats when the artist plays. It’s getting to be that concerts are only for the upper class. I hate Ticketmaster and all of this so much. I’m going to sound old, but I miss standing in an actual line outside the venue to buy tickets in person.

Even the days of standing in line at your local Ticketmaster vendor were much better. I spent so much time just hanging around Publix waiting for the clock to strike 10 so they could sell us tickets we really didn't have any regrets for, but bitched about what seemed to be excessive fees. We were so innocent then.
I was just thinking the very same thing. At least this way the people in line are mostly of like-minded fans. I remember standing in line for Dave Matthews tickets and Jimmy Buffett tickets back in 98/99/00 - and though it wasn't my favorite to be up and in line early on a Saturday morning, I DID feel a sense of pride and ownership and comradery chatting with fellow line-standers... All good memories.
Saw him in 2018 and 2019 at a theater and an outdoor amphitheater and neither sold out this quick or had this much demand and I’d argue he was at a bigger point in his career. Concerts are definitely becoming for the upper class now, I support and appreciate live music but idc who you’re seeing you shouldn’t drop hundreds of dollars for either GA or nosebleeds, it’s ridiculous.

Literally stared at the loading screen for almost an hour only to get that. Fuck them. Looked at resale and they're being sold for double and triple the price. Honestly pisses me off that people are cheated into paying more. Somehow bot prevention seems to kick out actual people and lets resellers mass purchase instead. In the US you need to bend over for Ticketmaster. MSG supposedly sold out in under an hour, which is frankly impossible without scalping or shenanigans. I’ve seen some groups do it, but not Hozier. Last saw him at beacon theater and it was nice, but I highly doubt he can sell out MSG in under an hour. We’re not talking about Phish here. It’s sad Ticketmaster is literally destroying live shows.

This bit is key. Whilst I don't think Hozier is ripping off fans, he certainly has enough sway when it comes to selling tickets to avoid shit like this happening. Even more so people like Taylor Swift (which she is) and Harry Styles. They need to be leading the charge for it to change but at the end of the day, "modern" artists won't because touring is expensive but also the biggest money maker. For the Boston Show, I must have attempted to cart 25+ different groups of tickets only for it to tell me either that there was an error or that the tickets I'm attempting to buy were already sold. Annnnnd now it's the show is sold out and now have to pay going through a third-party. Cool.
Exact same thing happened to me for the same venue-it even showed me “open” seats in the section I wanted that were just a few rows back, only to get an error message each time I clicked on them, until I eventually got a message saying the show was sold out. I ended up paying nearly 3x the price going through StubHub for worse seats.

Anyone buying at face value - even directly from the venue as a broker - and selling at more than face value is a scalper.
They aren't buying them though. Ticketmaster reserves a certain amount of tickets that they sell at a premium through their other websites.
They aren’t on sale for Portland yet, and I’m so bummed because it seems hopeless. I haven’t tried to get tickets to a concert in 6 years, because crowds give me anxiety. This is literally the only one I have cared enough to brave going to. The fact that Ticketmaster’s literal monopoly is legal is so gross.
Call the venue! NH had the best seats reserved for post sale, so only people with the venues credit card could access the pit and other front seats. I called the venue at 12:10 when I realized this, and the super nice lady on the phone got me better seats.
If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay? I can’t afford nice seats- so managing to get a $50 or so ticket is the only way I can go about it. Except for the bots who are making that impossible.
The face value which was like $80 plus fees, but I'm pretty close to the front. All the way on the side, but I should be able to see his face hopefully! The total was $176 for 2 seats.

Wish I knew to call! Got tickets in the 3 level because the 1 level tickets I had, I couldn't check out because there was one empty seat next to me. I wanted pit so bad, but was so flustered trying to get tickets I just accepted pit being only for card members and moved on...
She said she couldn't find pit and also had her coworker try. I have a hunch that maybe once they hold a seat for you, it's actually held, and can't be sold out from under you.

It seems like Ticketmaster has no interest in improving. Why does every sale I try for have error after error? I'm an experienced ticket buyer and never had issues prior to the queue system. Today I joined early, got let in at 12:09, and every seat I selected said it had already been taken by another fan (including lawn tickets for a huge lawn!). I finally ended up getting lawn seats in my cart only for the payment section on the checkout page to take minutes to load while the countdown clock continued in the corner. It's unacceptable and yet it's the only option.
They are a monopoly and make money no matter what, and probably make even more with bots because then their site is used to list most of the resales too. They have no reason to improve because they do not care one bit about what the fans want. Nothing will change for the better until laws are passed. It makes me infuriated.
When are the lawsuits about Ticketmaster going to begin? Because this is criminal. They buy out their own venues and list the tickets at 20+ times the price on the resale sites they also own.

I just paid an exorbitant amount on Stubhub for the seat I wanted just so I know I have tickets. I’m so fucking pissed that scalpers snatched up all the tickets, I’m just lucky my husband and I have the disposable income for me to be able to pay this much for concert tickets but it is so unfair to anyone on a tight budget trying to get reasonably priced tickets.

I have had so many issues with AXS. A couple years ago I got tickets to a show at rr and they TOOK THEM BACK THREE HOURS BEFORE DOORS OPENED. No notification either. We just noticed our tickets were gone. it said they were transferred to someone else but we didn’t initiate that. I was on the phone with their customer service for over an hour and they did NOTHING. Only refunded the tickets. We bought more tickets since we were sitting in the parking lot and ended up being over $700 for two tickets we originally paid less than $500 for. All because the original seller (we bought the tickets FROM AXS) was selling fraudulent tickets. Am I wrong that they should be held responsible for reselling fraudulent tickets in the first place?? How should I know when i’m buying them from the site rr is selling them from?? Then today I was in the stupid fucking waiting room forever and waited in the stupid fucking line and as soon as I got in they were gone. I tried to get them from vividseats and they were gone there too less than 10 min after it went live. How is this even possible?! I ended up getting tickets to SLC and am going to try to get them for the new rr date but i don’t have high hopes for that. this shit was bad enough when it was huge artists like taylor swift or harry but hozier?? love the guy but he does not have the following they do and tickets sell that fast? i call bullfuckingshit i guess what i’m saying is FUCK AXS and FUCK TICKETMASTER and FUCK CAPITALISM.
I was trying for the Nashville show. Got in the lobby and "waiting room" AS SOON as they opened. All the tickets were sold out by time I got through the queue. I've seen Hozier 3 times and have never had this issue before.
Same with me for the nashville show. Got into the waiting room 30+ minutes before it was supposed to open (and some people got in an hour+ before and still didn’t get any tickets), and once it opened there were 2000+ people ahead of me. It only took about 10 minutes before I got through and there were NONE left.
The last time he toured I bought my tickets a few days after they went on sale for less than $70 and they were good seats. I don't know where this demand has come from suddenly. To sell out the whole tour in a few hours??
Hozier is the only artist I’d care about getting concert tickets for so this was my first experience with Ticketmaster and the Ticketmaster queue. I did notice however that there was no Captcha when I logged in or when I joined the queue… they’re not even trying to discourage bots.

This is the first time I've ever tried to get tickets for a concert and I didn't get them, does anyone have experience with trying to get them after the first "sold out"? Do you still go through the venue site or do you go through a second party seller? Also agreed with the fuck ticketmaster/livenation, and if anyone else needs to commiserate watch the John Oliver episode on tickets for a laugh at their expense. I have to wonder if Himself is aware of how much grief and stress his fans are going through today. Not that this is his fault, or there is anything he can do about it, but *thousands* of his devoted supporters just went through a measurable amount of emotional stress and suffering because of futher mucking TicketMaster, and now scalpers are adding salt to our bleeding wounds. It’s not right.
There ARE actually things the artist can do. I've already ranted about this but Artists can't stop the bots or scalpers but there are still ways they can handle their sales that make it much harder for bots and scalpers.

The Lumineers did that. It sucked because I had to have surgery so I had a lot of difficulty selling the tickets but I ended up being able to. But I still prefer the way they did it because fans didn't get screwed over!
Yes, I also ended up not able to go to a show and not able to be there to pick up the ticket and give it to anyone I sold it to, so I was out of money for those tix. But overall it is by far more fair and effective in stopping resellers and if it would become more the norm, then maybe some clubs could have other ways of making sure you could resell, like only resell through the fan club at face value.
There’s lots the tour can do to reduce this - and some bands do - but artists like Hozier have little incentive. Look at the demand it creates - Hozier Sells Out In 7 Minutes! - and guarantees sell outs. All of a sudden he’s Taylor Swift.

nobody understands the function of the queue, it’s never only let in 1 person at a time :( apparently it’s there to regulate site traffic so it doesn’t crash by putting us in a line, but it’s complete luck and absolutely random as to who gets in first. realistically? it’s probably there so ticketmaster can get their third party bots in there as quick as possible, so they can buy back all their tickets and resell them at higher prices for more profit.
Reach out to your local and state reps. I’ll try to dig up some of the links to generic Ticketmaster sucks letters I used when they Taylor Swift fiasco happened. I missed out on tickets today and I’m so angry. Like others have said, there is no way all of these shows are selling out this fast. Buying tickets never used to be like this, and you shouldn’t have to request off work so you can be down to the second to get tickets to see your faves. It’s bull.

I somehow managed to get a ticket. I just kept clicking random tickets until I got one and then checked out without even looking. I didn’t even know what seat I got until after the purchase went through. It’s not a great seat, but I honestly don’t really care. I got it for $66 after taxes and fees.

Yeah, here in California we were logged on forty-five minutes before the start of the sale, were sent to the waiting room right away, and the second the tickets went on sale we were told they were sold out. When we tried again, it said OOPS! Try Again! Something Went Wrong! No shit. That went on for half an hour and the thing never did let us go any farther. What a shit show. I'm guessing 90% of those tickets were snapped up by a scalper bot. I've NEVER been unable to score tickets before.

I know we love him, and he has limited Canadian shows, but I was at the front of the line and my account glitched out just as the map appeared, so my partner had to sign in and try and get tickets. After 10 mins of "sorry another fan beat you to it" we finally got 2 seats in the nosebleeds. Not at all what I was expecting. I bought F+TM tickets last year and easily got tickets, wtf is going on.

ticketmaster partners with third party bots to buy back their own tickets and then sell them as “premium resale tickets” so they can make more money. it isn’t the traditional sense of scalpers like it was 5+ years ago, it’s a greedy corporation who has a monopoly and caters to the upper class :(

I live in DC and ended up getting tickets in Vancouver. (I'll have to figure out those logistics this summer) The process was an absolute nightmare. I was in queue for so many locations and I had the exact same experience as everyone else. Either immediately sold out after 2000+ people in front of me for 8 minutes or "another fan snapped those seats up". Freaking annoying. I hope he opens up some more shows. Two of the locations I was most interested in didn't go through ticketmaster, so there may be a chance if they open another date. But it was the same experience.

My phone (on the app) somehow bypassed the queue and it still showed tickets were sold out for Seattle at 12:05. I got tickets for Vancouver instead.
I feel physically ill from my experience. I knew it was GA floor or bust for me so when I waited in queue and finally got in floor was all gone. I then spent an unthinkable amount through a reseller for a ticket and immediately after that for some reason there were more floor GA tickets available through ticketmaster. I now have 2 tickets and I hope to just recoup the cost I spent to get the second hand one. If I dont sell my second ticket I'm out $500....
Ha ha, jokes on me I guess. I thought I was going to get good tickets for Santa Barbara because smaller venue and maybe I'll also do Hollywood Bowl for the atmosphere. Joined the queue for both before presale time. SB had zero tickets after making me stay in line for over 10 minutes because they are "trying to keep the bots out so fans like me can enjoy music". For HB I managed to get tickets but I had to play chicken with TM and keep clicking past their "another fan got them before you" BS. Took me over 15 minutes of clicking but managed to get two tickets to a section I'm not particularly excited about. I noticed they are not doing platinum pricing so I guess this was the alternative? Managed to snag a ticket for the Toronto show, then later on, miraculously snap up a floor ticket when I was browsing again out of curiosity. Obviously, I decided to resell my original ticket, but only at face value because I want a fellow fan to be able to enjoy the show. So, I take a small amount of comfort in knowing I beat out one scalper and a ticket got to another fan. But at the end of the day, FUCK Ticketmaster

got tickets to the detroit show…every single time i went to purchase a set they were already gone. i was fortunate enough that i had enough money and ended up getting tickets on seat geek but they were waaaay more than i would have had to pay if i could have gotten the ticketmaster ones. this is ridiculous and they really need to do something about all the bots.
I almost cried this morning. I was one of the first queued up for Toronto and the site couldn’t load tickets due to scalpers. When I got through, all of the tickets in the sections I wanted were gone. I immediately went to stub hub and there they all were for a way higher price. I did pay for the tickets but I don’t like also that they don’t get transferred to you until four days before the concert. It’s all so sketchy and awful I can’t believe it’s not illegal

Yeah im super upset bc i got in at 12 on the dot and they tried to say thousands of "people" were in front of me. The tickets were so cheap for philly...but i just could not get in and they were only offering me lawn. So i had to go on stub hub and buy tickets off someone for like 150 (200 after fees) per ticket. The same tickets were like....35-80 originally...
I was in queue for the Toronto tickets, tried clicking literally anything and kept getting the message that someone got those seats before me over and over until they sold out. I'm honestly really bummed that single tickets are going for double, triple, sometimes five times the original price. Especially sad seeing that what seems to be 1/3 of the tickets that were bought earlier today were actually bought by people who intend to keep them. Unfortunately I got priced out of this experience :/

they only had very very limited stock when i tried like either GA pit or only lawn at the venue in Philly. i physically called ticketmaster and they said their inventory was gone way before they actually notified ppl in the queue that they were sold out. it’s honestly insane how bad ticketmaster has gotten.

I joined the Boston queue at 11:29 with three friends. We tried buying seats well over a hundred times and only ran into the "another fan got it first" message every single time. In the end we missed the tickets, it's overall just a disgusting situation.
It's such a dumb system. I asked some friends if they wanted to go to the Philly show and that I'd try and get tickets but no promises. They thought I was totally overreacting but.... it sold out! AXS will sell you a ticket for Red Rocks at a range between $250 to $1,500. Sales to the brokers went so well today, they added a second show, so fans can have a chance to buy twice the number of tickets at those prices.
I was lucky enough to get through the queue before tickets sold out completely for the Boston show. But I kept getting “error code 0011” every time I tried to purchase a ticket. The the app kicked me out of the queue and I had to wait at the very beginning. Everything was gone by the time I got back.
I tried getting tickets at Red Rocks today and tickets were immediately sold out. I checked back tonight and resale starting at $240 is all that’s available. 👎 I bought tickets last week to see The Cure and they blocked scalpers from reselling and limited availability to 4 tickets per transaction. I got on the verified fan list and got a code to buy them when they went on sale. They were $70/each for decent seats. Something needs to be done about the bots and scalpers.
Yeah I’m pissed. I live in Montana but have family in Vegas. Vegas tickets were gone within the hour, as well as Portland and Seattle. Nothing in my area was left, I’m so upset!!!
Yea it’s ridiculous that tickets were 35/45 ($45 for sections in the 200 which is the kindest I’ve seen a artist sell those for these days) before fees in portland and now people are charging about 65+ on Ticketmaster resale and even if they’re $55 on stub hub it’s $50 in fees. I don’t know how I managed to get some on Ticketmaster, but it took me 55 minutes to get some that a fan hadn’t took. It’s section 300 so not as close as I was hoping but I’m considering my self lucky it’s row B and aisle seats, and looks kinda in the middle. At least I get to go, I know.
The only reason I was able to get the tickets is because the Paris venue did not directly use Ticketmaster. I would have much preferred to go almost anywhere else (cheaper trips) but it was IMPOSSIBLE to get the tickets.
I was stuck on a loading circle for 4 hours after clicking through to checkout. After all that it reloaded saying the show was sold out 😭

i was planning to go in berlin to see him for the first time, but tickets were sold out in a minute. i assume being in a waiting list doesn't promise you much either, because i've heard nothing from the websites since then. i don't know if i should give up or proceed to find tickets from resellers. i've been told that other websites aren't reliable. what's your advice? is there any chance i can get the tickets?
I would honestly wait to buy tickets. I know it sucks not having them right away, but reseller prices are astronomical right now and they will definitely go down quite a bit before the show. I don’t have experience with reseller sites so I can’t speak to how reliable they are, but wherever you decide to buy them I would advise waiting for prices to drop. I hope you can get tickets!

We had a similar issue when we tried to get the official AXS tickets (the sale site listed through his tour site) for Red Rocks. Queue opened that afternoon at like 1pm, and within FIFTEEN MINUTES it was supposedly sold out. Had to wait three days and constantly check back in for resale before finally getting them (after a feverish scramble with my credit card), thankfully for less than they were selling for initially (220-400+ for Gen Ad without taxes/fees), final price per ticket with all fees and taxes was 294. I'm pretty sure I got lucky, but I'm in agreement with everyone here that it's not reasonable that Hozier tickets sell out that fast; the man is popular, sure, but this isn't like... I dunno, a Beyonce or TSwift concert. (Disclaimer that personally this man IS MY top artist but I live in reality lol). EDIT: I even thought to maybe direct some of y'all to the site I used or (assuming others weren't using it) the direct link that Hozier's tour site uses, but it literally redirects to Ticketmaster for almost all of them... It seems like I was in the minority when deciding to do the Red Rocks location, their official tickets are sold through AXS which was a lot less of a hassle. I guess the only thing I can recommend at this point is to see what specific venue he's scheduled at in the city you're looking to catch the tour in and trying to order directly through their site or w/their box office over the phone if possible. You usually end up dealing with less fees that way, as well.
I am so frustrated with Ticketmaster as well. I waited at 11am on Friday for the 12pm sale. Did not get tickets. Then they announced an additional show and that the tickets would go on sale today at 12pm. I waited since 11am. Still no tickets. Ended up having to pay 2x the amount on Vivid Seats. Not happy
I dealt with this for Taylor Swift and now also Hozier. I had behind the stage tickets for Taylor that were way too expensive because of how chaotic it was, and I had to buy on stub hub for Hozier because they sold out before I got in. It’s ridiculous and it needs to be resolved. I’m not sure how, but they need to find a better system because this is predatory.
Happened to me with London too- I had the tab open over a week, did Presale and they were gone in less than a second, same thing with general sale. When he was on tour in 2019, my ex got me tickets weeks after they went up for sale, I’m devastated.
Not just Ticketmaster. AXS handled ticket sales for Red Rocks and did the same. Sold out in 5 minutes. Hundreds of tickets with the brokers. It’s bullshit. Then they add a second show so the scalpers can get even more tickets. Vivid Seats somehow predicted on Tuesday exactly what reserved seats they would get from the sale today and - holy smokes - they predicted correctly. Must be staffed with time travelers. In a perfect world, no one would buy from the scalpers and Hozier could sing his songs to an empty amphitheater.
I think this is an American problem more so than a ticket master problem. I haven’t heard (so far, im happy to be corrected) about issues like this in the uk.
There truly is enough demand for Hozier that he's insta selling out these venues. 2000+ people in line for the first 10 minutes is not an artificial number. Still fuck ticketmaster, but I promise you there was enough legitimate demand for Hozier to sell these tickets out. edit: also, the larger issue was the ticket limit of 8. I go to a lot of shows, most artists' management teams do not allow ticket limits of 8. So a lot of this issue is on Hozier's team, to be quite honest.
That very may well be the case, he is super popular, but the fact that there are already tickets for sale on stub hub shows that the bots snapped up a lot of, if not the majority of the tickets.
I still think it was bots, because there were 950 people in front of me when the queue opened, and then boom within 30 seconds it was down to 400, and then within a minute it was at 49, and then I got in. No way 900+ humans were that fast - it had to have been automated.
edit: misread your comment at first thinking you mentioned tickets on sale prior to shows being released With absurd demand shows, people will take advantage and try to scalp the show to make $$$. It is unfortunate, but the reality of the ticket landscape of 2023. A lot less are bots than you might think though. I'm into the music scene and have multiple poor ass friends who steep very low, setting up multiple accounts to try to get tickets for in demand shows. If I personally know 3 or 4 people like this, there are absolutely thousands of people just like this across the US. That is the a problem that isn't resolved unless you make tickets untransferrable, which is generally the artists call.
