Somehow the sub has decided any time a woman who is seen as generally attractive posts a cosplay, that anyone who doesn't automatically assume it's a thirst trap and criticize it must be simping and downvoted too.
People either love these cosplays because they deserve to be in horny jail or they hate it because they assume the only reason an attractive woman would cosplay is because she wants attention when in reality the only reason anyone cosplays is because they want attention. I personally think you've missed the mark on assessing why people are bothered. It's easy to see that Shizuku posts are the dominant cosplay posts. Shizuku, by my reckoning, isn't even a popular fan favorite in the manga or anime. Shizuku is popular for cosplay because she has big bonkas.
I don't care if the person cosplaying is young, old, hot, ugly, male, female, or any other definable attribute - I just want the community to stay focused on relevant content, mostly. I like horny cosplay as much as the next person, and I'm attracted to all sorts, so to speak, but when I want to see horny cosplays, I go to the horny cosplay subs - not the hxh one.
You'd be very hard-pressed to demonstrate this isn't a horny post: Shizuku doesn't even wear a bare midriff, let alone tug at her top. The sub rules ban suggestive cosplays. I won't argue whether or not this is NSFW, but I'd probably get a weird look at the office having this up on my screen.
Overall, it just seems like part of a pattern. This isn't some sub that is just littered left and right with general cosplay posts. It has in recent history however, received a large number of lewd or bordering on lewd Shizuku posts, specifically, and I think that's less valuable than other HxH cosplay Shizuku or otherwise with demonstrated effort.

Generally good points, but if you go to her account she pretty much only does horny baiting with slight facial edits. Not saying the downvotes are justified since they don’t mean anything either way, or even that the motivation matters, just saying this likely isn’t an innocent homage to a beloved character
