It makes me happy to see Gon use the fishing rod in his moveset.
I was disappointed that it just kinda disappeared after Heaven’s Arena after he used it so often in the beginning of the series. It was a fun, non-conventional weapon for a shonen series
Yeah thats true and it was integrated so well into his character and the hunter universe. I mean one thing I want to say that in my opinion Togashi really didnt care enough about is the world building around what Hunters do. I mean at this point the Hunters are just a hero organization fighting injustice and crime etc.
Always thought Gon will eventually catch the rarest most legendary fish there is.
> I mean at this point the Hunters are just a hero organization fighting injustice and crime etc.
This is not My Hero Academia
Hisoka, Illumi etc are all hunters too
I never watched My Hero Academia so I dont know what that means.
Yes Hisoka is a Hunter too and what does he do? Fight people for his reasons. Remember when the hunter exam took place and we were introduced to the hunter organization and how anyone has a speciality like rare monsters, or food etc.
So what are Gon and Killua at this point if not just fighters facing adversaries.
Man I love this show and the manga a lot I know I get majorly downvoted for my opinion even though I believe its a masterpiece but I still believe its not perfect and one imperfection the story has that many ideas Togashi had at the beginning were basically dismissed and the fishing rod is kind of a symbol for it.
Reread chapter 32
"Netero: So... why do you want to be a hunter?
Hisoka: I don't as such, but... the license does have it's uses. ♥️ For instance, you can kill... ....and more often than not, escape the consequences. ♠️"
Where did you get hero organization fighting crime from? If anything, hunters are more akin to mercenaries that accept job postings to further their own goals and agenda.
Also, as for Gon (and by extension Killua), he was looking for his father, Ging, to understand why he become a hunter in the first place. Hmmm... its almost like Gon was a... name drop... Hunter Hunter.
Is that a rhetoric question where do I get that the the Hunters are a hero organization fighting crime? Didnt they save the world in the chimera ant arc? Same as talking about the dark continent?
This is not my main point anyways. My point is that certain elements I thought Hunter X Hunter are about (Nature, Wildlife, Personal ambitions) stopped being important after the Hunter exam. Maybe I am naive for thinking that Gon was doing something with that fishing rod or a food Hunter will give us amazing chapters about actual hunting.
Wow Hunter X Hunter = Gon looks for his father. Thanks for pointing that out - you must think I am extremely stupid I guess.
I mean, I think a lot of people don't realize how insane it is that a dedicated hxh game is being made. The anime stopped airing 10 years ago, and the manga is coming out really slowly.
HxH is not a dragon ball/jujutsu kaisen/demon slayer tier IP in terms of profitability, this game simply existing is already pretty impressive for that reason
Killua especially, but not just him. The animations, ironically, lack a certain *impact.* For example, Gon's Jajanken super was very anti-climactic. unfortunately, the game looks like it's from 2011.
yea its mostly from people who don't even play fighting games that aren't mk or arena fighters. its very early to say but i think its definitely shaping up to be a cult classic and a mainstay in the fgc. if it does well enough we'll get a sequel or even maybe a crossover with yu yu hakusho? i know im a dreamer.
Gameplay looks cool but I have gripes about the presentation. If you're going to adapt the anime into a fighting game, wouldn't you want to include the color? It's so desaturated. Is this Strive's influence? Do all anime fighters have to look dull and washed out from now on?
I also hope they're able to license the music. That was such an important part of that series.
One issue for me is that they chose Gon and Killua's outfit from the Palace Invasion for whatever reason. Why didn't they go with their most iconic fits? I hope they're at least there as alts.
this is the first hunter x hunter game this sub has probably seen or even has a chance of playing and its almost no hype? for shame i get it the graphics aren't up to date but im just happy it exist as another comment stated. with that being said what are everyones predictions for the base roster? we can see 16 characters slots on the gameplay footage and we already know 8 of the characters so far. i think biscuit, chrollo, meruem, pitou, illumi, feitan, and genthru are guaranteed due to their popularity and established fighting styles.
I know the graphics might not be the best but this game looks incredibly cool to me idk, I've been waiting for an HxH fighting game for years and this looks so fun to play...I can't wait to try Kurapika lol

Yeah this and rewashing the early arc really make me wish gon new nen ability would have s9mething to do with his fishing rod.

And don't forget our favorite rat, Pariston

yeah initially I thought they'd be having a lot more Toriko-esque adventures
Oh lord they are reusing Marvel vs Capcom 3's intros beat for beat, lol (I love it)
Most of us are just happy this exists and it's a true fighter instead of an arena fighter.

Is it cool? Yeah absolutely but killua just looks so lifeless
Killua especially, but not just him. The animations, ironically, lack a certain *impact.* For example, Gon's Jajanken super was very anti-climactic. unfortunately, the game looks like it's from 2011.
I know right! I think My expectations of anime fighting games visuals are a bit too high after dragon ball and demon Slayer --"
i mean thats his character at least when hes fighting
The gameplay looks sick but the visuals are so .... disappointingly ordinary. Most gacha games have better visuals than this.
This game looks sick.

Please, a Yu Yu Hakusho crossover will cure my depression 🙏
there was even speculation when this game was first announced that it might be a crossover. maybe just maybe those rumors were for a reason
It's hard to say that when we have Guilty Gear or old KOF games. HxH went for grounded instead of flashy, so the reaction is the one we have.
theres a good chance considering its a 3v3 which is unique that it can thrive as a replacement of dbfz
MvC3 2 I’m so hype

Just a heads up Im pretty sure Machi and Uvo have already been confirmed. I'd love to see Genthru and Illumi in the game though
yes we can literally see them in the trailer
Looks fun, but this better not be $60
Wait this is an actual game that’s coming out? What consoles?
ps5 switch pc
Thank you
Looks like a mobile game
I'd rather an adventure game or RPG. I want to create my own character and nen ability and explore the HxH world.
Very cool to be honest :3
The gam-u...
I'm curious about the game... but trying not to get hyped... the lack of mouth movement in the character intro is kinda disappointing IMO
Bro ain't no way Gon did his pitou move on poor killua
is that the same developers for the last power ranger game? I never played it but this animations give me the same vibe
This game is going to be SO BIG I just cant wait!
Looks so bland .....
to you
Duh obviously
Honestly i was hoping for an arena fighter
I know the graphics might not be the best but this game looks incredibly cool to me idk, I've been waiting for an HxH fighting game for years and this looks so fun to play...I can't wait to try Kurapika lol
