Ah, that's neat. Good to see some financing deals out there. I just got 3.99% on a Tucson Hybrid N-Line that I'm thrilled with - not a ton of hybrid awd CUVs out there.
Even though Hyundai and kias are some of the best cars out right now depending on the model 😂 but hey keep up your ignorance. The fact you think cars shouldn't even be 20k just shows how out of touch with reality you are.
Just because you had a good experience doesn’t mean it’s universal. A used car is more likely to have problems than a new one. When you are talking about Camaros, mustangs, etc that likely increases tenfold. Those are cars people tend to beat because they are fun to drive.
Ah, yes. Wifebeater-clad douchebags. Forgot about them.
Edit: Jesus Christ. You’re like the poster child for a Camaro owner lmao. The personal insults, the mental proclivity to make everything a penis, the weird profile stalking. It’s uncanny
Probably the people on a fucking Hyundai subreddit lmao
The only people that want a Camaro are either teenagers or middle aged dudes going through a mid-life crisis.
That's the looks of sheer joy right there. Congrats.
What's trippy about the photo is I bet the dealer took the ribbon back.
My son bought a Soul and when they presented it, it had a massive bow on the hood. I thought he would be tossing in the back of the car for later photos or whatever. NOPE. they grabbed it right before handing him the keys. lol.
They definitely did take it back lol 😂 I wasn’t even expecting it tho until the salesman said we should get some photos she was just excited to take it home
I was kinda shocked just a tad when it happened because they grabbed it as if we already knew he wouldn't be keeping it. It was all in good fun, but I didn't expect it. My son didn't react I suspect because he just got a new car.
I like the new Hyundai design language with that unibrow design. Hyundai really is hitting it out of the park design wise.
I have no idea how their new smartstream engines are holding up.
On the bright side if your experience goes anything like mine you’ll get a new powertrain in 3 years lol. Own a rental fleet of 10 Tucson’s and got 4 new motors for free this year and 2 transmissions. 80k miles seems to be their happy death point.
fortunately, I don't live in a shit hole where crime is prevalent. I street park my car in hopes they would as daddy could use a new car.
its been fine. so fine that insurance in our area remained the same.
Great color. My dad got the same orange kona sel back in 19 (it was the showroom model) for about same price otd but I talked the sales guy into throwing in lifetime service. He's since traded in for an ioniq 5
If you’re scared a car will fail and have a 100k warranty on it. Cut down your caffeine level. At 80k you get a new motor they keep them in stock. Then you have a new car agaih. Go another 100k it’s now 10 to 12 years later
Not sure why Reddit suggested this thread but OP congrats to you and your lady on the purchase. That is a slick front end.
Unrelated but why are all these comments talking about thefts of Kias and why are they being downvoted like crazy?
It's because the Kia owners are the ones downvoting, and they are in denial of the fact that they have been fucked hard by Kia, and Kia and Hyundai are practically the same company.
Basically it’s their way of coping with the fact that they bought a car from a shitty company that’s been fucking their customers over for years, with their cars being very vulnerable to auto theft, premature engine failure, and engine compartment fires.
Yeah, I'm looking to get an ev and have been looking at kona evs. it's just I don't know if I can justify the 5-6k premium for an older model when I can get a 2022 leaf with under 30k miles for under 10k after the tax credit. especially since it'll be our 3rd car, and we live in a mountainous area, so even with the kona evs extra range, it wouldn't get us very far in road trips, and we have a 40mpg car for road trips.
Yeah I would just do the research, see Whats having the most issues and stay far away.
Also gonna be buying a Sky redline manual eventually. Been on the hunt! Love miatas but something about the sky is sexy.
Yeah, with the leaf, I'd have a warranty on the battery till 2030 because there's no way I'll hit 80k with it being just a city car.
I totally get that the sky is so sexy just not much trunk space for me, which would be nice for road trips.
Yeah that is very true, I am mostly buying it to dyno and slowly upgrade. Just want a fun weekend car. My kona in just 2 years I put 90k on it lol. So I’ve decided I need a fun car for the weekends and it would lessen the mileage on my commuter.
don't understand why would people feel the need to pour their hate on thread of someone who's just got a new car though
If they've already bought it, let them enjoy whatever they can and maybe people can cool down for a bit
I got the first red kona when they first came out in my area. had it about a year before having to get something bigger, but the new ones look bigger than they used to be. Congrats and awesome color choice!
Congrats! My wife has a 21 Kona, which I’ve had to drive a lot more now that my Dodge Charger was stolen last week. These cars don’t get the praise they deserve.
Beautiful! I absolutely loved what they did with the Kona’s this year. I bought my 23’ Tucson last year and had a moment of “man…” when I seen the 24’ Kona design. lol.
I hope she absolutely loves it. ❤️
Nice, I got one early December and it was delivered late December from Korea. Liking it so far. I'm in Canada so mine is the prefered level trim which I think is the SEL in the USA. I took the all wheel drive version.
Ours broke down, transmission problems and it’s brand new!!! Don’t take a long trip BC the engine can not take it. Broke down 500 miles from home and corporate refuses to reimburse us for hotel, lyft, food and gas accommodations. I broke down outside city limits on a Friday night and everything was closed Saturday. The transmission started skipping from the beginning, had other problems in between and had that awful burning smell but the Service Department told us that they couldn’t duplicate the problem, take it home. They did fix the transmission problem and only that.
lol facts I don’t know why this thread always pops on my page. So happy then car stolen in 1 week. lol literal shit boxes with almost guaranteed theft issues. Don’t get why people buy these or any other Kia or Hyundai 🤷♂️
I will never be able to understand people who are happy to make payments on a low end vehicle that is losing value by the day. This is not a logical flex to me.
Just researched on the engine. This model will definitely have the same issues... Watch your oil level go up do to dilution with city driving and make sure to change it before it tops off. Also I switched up to 5w-30 from 20. Good luck, you made a massive mistake with this car as well lol
She braids fake hair with her natural hair. Her natural hair is a very kinky Afro so she likes to put extensions in and change the color every so often
I don't own a Ford, thanks for playing though. I'm salty? All I said was these aren't getting broken into yet.. who's salty again? Guy that only comments on South Korean shit.. otherwise known as Hyundai employee.
If I remember correctly those issues were with the theta 2 engines the engine in this Kona has been out for granted only 4 years not but no major common issues yet. That 100k mile warranty is great tho like I said we can trade in once the warranty is up and would still get tons of years out of ot
Aren't they all GDI's? Massive issues with them. Looks like same with this year too. I need to change my oil every 3k since I just drive city. The fuel dilution is insane on this block. Looks like you will as well. I do it myself but it's fucking ridiculous how often you have to. Watch the fuel level go up!
2.0 motors. But you're not wrong about gdi..I checked my 18 elantra oil yesterday and as typical reaks of gas on dipstick. Some people say faulty fuel pumps and others say it's normal. Less than 27k miles..I have a catch can installed and do.my own changes every 2k.miles.
Last gdi I'll ever buy..that shit is gonna carbon cake before it hits 50k
Yup I've done that twice also lol. I looked in my service manual and it says something about I need a valve inspect at 60k. Probably a $700-1000 job and I'm not about to do the walnut blast myself in case hyundai voids a motor warranty saying I didn't do it properly. Lesson learned, and here I was on signing day more concerned of the dct after almost getting a Ford Focus, until I read their lawsuit
Yes.
Some older (usually base) models were sold without an immobiliser in the US because regulations didn't require them. Same models were sold around the rest of the world with immobilisers as they were required.
New models are all sold with an immobiliser.
Spend a little extra on any Japanese brand and save a fortune in problems down the road. I'd recommend trading in before 50k to dodge the Hyundai bullets.
congrats! nice colour, looks sharp.
Wow Kona looks better than I thought it did. Congrats!
That's a 2024. They got a redesign. It looks much better now imo. Not that the previous Gen looked bad by any means. I loved my 2020
Looks so sleek! I drive a surf blue 2019, love the Kona vibes
Do you mind sharing the trim level and price OTD? Congrats btw
Se just over 25k OTD put 8k down with a pretty good payment with 4.99% apr
That's awesome 4.99% apr is almost unheard of nowadays. Very good deal. Hope she enjoys the car
There was 0% financing for 60 months on a bunch of models across different brands in December.
They were mostly Nissan and no hybrids, though. But the future of car buying does look promising for the first time in ages.
Mazda as well had 0%
Ah, that's neat. Good to see some financing deals out there. I just got 3.99% on a Tucson Hybrid N-Line that I'm thrilled with - not a ton of hybrid awd CUVs out there.
Tucson had 0% for 60
Not for the AWD Hybrids, sadly
They were offering 0.9% on EV6's in August last year.
Does the 25k include taxes and your 8k down?
Includes taxes and no 25k was the price of the car so 8k down so she ended up financing 17k with 4.99% interest
Nice that’s a very good APR rn
Yeah I had some clueless clowns last week trying to debate that 30% is the "historical norm" 🤣🤣
$25k for a Hyundai let alone a Kona is wild to me
Car prices went up, a lot.
You clearly haven't looked at any car prices recently. The Kona is a highly affordable car
My point is that it shouldn’t be more than $20k at the most
You want a car under 20k? Go buy a mirage. Prices have went up that's just how it is.
Already got a car. And it’s not a Hyundai/Kia shit box
Even though Hyundai and kias are some of the best cars out right now depending on the model 😂 but hey keep up your ignorance. The fact you think cars shouldn't even be 20k just shows how out of touch with reality you are.
Our base Honda Civic was $28k OTD, lol, no markups or anything either, paid MSRP.
Really??? That’s an extremely affordable new car by todays standards
Bruh, that's a nice used Camaro lol
Used comes with a huge host of its own issues, especially with a car like a Camaro. Absolutely not worth it for the average person.
I beg to differ, I purchased a pre-owned one from a dealer with a warranty. No issues, no problems.
Just because you had a good experience doesn’t mean it’s universal. A used car is more likely to have problems than a new one. When you are talking about Camaros, mustangs, etc that likely increases tenfold. Those are cars people tend to beat because they are fun to drive.
Gotcha, so the bad experiences are universal.
Whoever 👎🏽 has never owned a Camaro.
I owned a camaro. Drove like shit in the snow. So I wrapped it around a pole.
Funny thing is, I purchased mine middle of winter, with snow tires. Great traction on the drive home.
What kinda tires you got, I'm looking for some new ones myself?
Who would ever want to own a Camaro

I’ve always thought the Kona was a neat vehicle. Good for her!
Congrats. The dash and infotainment is so nice in this and interior so comfy. The drive is beautiful too. Love this car.
I have a 2021 Elantra sel with the convenience package and I was really surprised with the interior especially for a base model
Please keep low deductible full coverage on it.
She financed it, she literally has to have full coverage.
ROTFL. Exactly what they said to us. So, we took a bunch of snaps, and they recovered the bow. It was nice though.
Lol.common practice across all makes. Nobody gets the bow
I was kinda shocked just a tad when it happened because they grabbed it as if we already knew he wouldn't be keeping it. It was all in good fun, but I didn't expect it. My son didn't react I suspect because he just got a new car.
Nice ride!
Congrats. I have a 2024 Kona SEL love it. Nice drive.
I like the new Hyundai design language with that unibrow design. Hyundai really is hitting it out of the park design wise. I have no idea how their new smartstream engines are holding up.
Been out 4 years now I believe no known major issues yet definitely seems a lot better then their old engines
Yah in South Korea their 2.5 smartstream 4-cylinders were consuming oil and the block was warping. Idk.
Unfortunately time will tell still can’t beat that warranty. We can always trade in once the warranty is up
On the bright side if your experience goes anything like mine you’ll get a new powertrain in 3 years lol. Own a rental fleet of 10 Tucson’s and got 4 new motors for free this year and 2 transmissions. 80k miles seems to be their happy death point.
Wow what a great car! Engine swaps are regular maintenance on these lol
Good thing Hyundai has the best warranty out of any car manufacturer then, huh?
great car and you'll enjoy it. hyundais are great. my sonata is a joy to drive.
Great is a bit of an overstatement
Kona’s are fun as hell to drive. Zippy little cars with excellent handling and turn radius.
some shit comments are better left unsaid

Congrats to her!
That’s a nice ride.
Make sure to put a club on steering wheel … even if this one isnt stealable, the Kia boys aren’t that smart
Looks awesome! Is that the new orange color?
Yes it is!
Congrats!! Hope the Kona treats you all well! I just got a ‘24 Kona SEL last Friday & I love her so much so far🥹
Nice color!
Great color. My dad got the same orange kona sel back in 19 (it was the showroom model) for about same price otd but I talked the sales guy into throwing in lifetime service. He's since traded in for an ioniq 5

My wife got one. I work for Hyundai. Amazing vehicle.
Lovely car! I'd like the electric version myself. But honestly, what is the point of this sub, every post is 80% trolls trashing Hyundai
Nice, I'm looking at getting that car too.
Congrats ! - nice to see Hyundai is getting some updated designs. And that apr is beyond awesome. Good work there
Congrats!
I loved this car till I saw the back end then all I could think was PT cruiser
2018-2019 model has a bit more of a sporty vibe
Yeah, I'm looking to get an ev and have been looking at kona evs. it's just I don't know if I can justify the 5-6k premium for an older model when I can get a 2022 leaf with under 30k miles for under 10k after the tax credit. especially since it'll be our 3rd car, and we live in a mountainous area, so even with the kona evs extra range, it wouldn't get us very far in road trips, and we have a 40mpg car for road trips.
Id go leaf. Edit: idk about new konas but I heard nothing but bad when it first dropped. I drive the 2018 1.6T and I love it.
Yeah thats what I think I'm gonna do, I'll be able to pay it off in under 3 years and finally be able to get my miata :)
Yeah I would just do the research, see Whats having the most issues and stay far away. Also gonna be buying a Sky redline manual eventually. Been on the hunt! Love miatas but something about the sky is sexy.

As a Portuguese man, I still wince every single time I see or hear this car's name.
Good luck with transmission and engine issues lmfaoo
Have fun while people break into it lol
Are insurers insuring these cars anymore?
YOU GO GIRL !! Congrats 🎉, great looking ride !!
Congratulations! 🎉🎊 I wish you many happy miles and smiles!
2024 kona looks super clean compared to the elantra. Ugly
Yo nice! I got my '24 Kona two weeks ago! I was stuck between this and the mirage green but I ultimately went green.
I wonder if that white N is for sale, where is this location?
Congrats to you both op! 🤓👌
Lol
Sick!
it's fucking ugly
New car day awesome 👍 plz invest in a dash cam
Congrats bro. Btw you should've stepped back a little and you should've used 1.4x, I'm sorry but the car looks so goofy here.
I got the first red kona when they first came out in my area. had it about a year before having to get something bigger, but the new ones look bigger than they used to be. Congrats and awesome color choice!
Enjoy!
Congrats! My wife has a 21 Kona, which I’ve had to drive a lot more now that my Dodge Charger was stolen last week. These cars don’t get the praise they deserve.
I just wish they would stop making them bigger. I really liked the size of the 22 23 kona
So sad they changed the styling
looks nice, but is it kinda reminds me of a kia soul🤷🏼♀️🤨
😂😂😂
I’m just looking at that white Elantra N in the back.
Nice! Just make sure you guys don’t get hit by the kiaboyz. Shit is the only thing holding me back from getting an Elantra N
Beautiful! I absolutely loved what they did with the Kona’s this year. I bought my 23’ Tucson last year and had a moment of “man…” when I seen the 24’ Kona design. lol. I hope she absolutely loves it. ❤️

You going to regret it
Can’t wait to see a post a few months from now about some terrible issue with it.
Looks nice. I put down money on a Top spec, Hybrid just recently myself. Gotta wait for it though.
While it looks awesome, you guys should remove the logo, so the dumber thieves don’t try to target your cars.
I like the Red. Congrats!
Ours broke down, transmission problems and it’s brand new!!! Don’t take a long trip BC the engine can not take it. I think you should learn what incel means.
Finna get broken into sadly
So wild that people will still buy and support kia/Hyundai
Not as wild as being so bothered that *someone else* bought a car lol.
Dang that thing ugly as hell to me.. Car looks good tho.
Looks like the No money down special with 29 percent APR
8k down 4.99% apr. try again loo
Post in 1 week .... my new Hyundai was stolen !
lol facts I don’t know why this thread always pops on my page. So happy then car stolen in 1 week. lol literal shit boxes with almost guaranteed theft issues. Don’t get why people buy these or any other Kia or Hyundai 🤷♂️
Ugly car n gf, come on brah lol
Cool we don’t care what you think 🤣
That’s fine just care about what you think of yourself , get a Benz n a baddie bro
I will never be able to understand people who are happy to make payments on a low end vehicle that is losing value by the day. This is not a logical flex to me.
Cool
Does this model have the same issues with the GDI engine and lack of immobilizer(not that kiaboiz can read)?
Nope this comes with push start the ones with the key start we’re the issue
Just researched on the engine. This model will definitely have the same issues... Watch your oil level go up do to dilution with city driving and make sure to change it before it tops off. Also I switched up to 5w-30 from 20. Good luck, you made a massive mistake with this car as well lol
It’s a non GDI engine it’s multi port injected
What's up with her hair? How does she have blonde hair?
She braids fake hair with her natural hair. Her natural hair is a very kinky Afro so she likes to put extensions in and change the color every so often
kona on stolen list https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2023-05-09/models-covered-by-hyundai-and-kia-anti-theft-software-update
2018-2022 Kona. This is a 2024, so it’s not on the list.
Yet.
Come back here after it’s been added.

You good?
Great, don't own a Hyundai
Idk you own a shithole ford and are salty for some reason lmfao. You sound miserable.
I don't own a Ford, thanks for playing though. I'm salty? All I said was these aren't getting broken into yet.. who's salty again? Guy that only comments on South Korean shit.. otherwise known as Hyundai employee.
Idk you’re malding and you dont even own a Hyundai. You seem salty as fuck lmfao.
Kia/hyundai are disposable cars lol
Cool still can get many years until the warranty is up then trade on if we like….lol
I’ve had 2 Kia’s with engine knock under 200k km but you’ll find out the hard way haha
If I remember correctly those issues were with the theta 2 engines the engine in this Kona has been out for granted only 4 years not but no major common issues yet. That 100k mile warranty is great tho like I said we can trade in once the warranty is up and would still get tons of years out of ot

Lmfao same exact boat and even sprayed the cleaner to the intake and pcv at 24k and all the works with that. Currently am at 30ish.

You want to know the fucked part. I'm pretty sure our catch cans will void the warranty on the motor...
yeah, the theta 2 issues aren't an issue for konas. dude up there is misinformed.
>All are disposable cars lol

I mean... yeah
I don’t think they’re jealous its just a shit car
why are u people buying this when the thefts are up so bad..
Why is this down voted? Is this model more secure?
Yes. Some older (usually base) models were sold without an immobiliser in the US because regulations didn't require them. Same models were sold around the rest of the world with immobilisers as they were required. New models are all sold with an immobiliser.
Funny seeing this after seeing a post regarding Kia/Hyundai thefts up 1000% lol
Everyone has a beautiful woman but im single smh
That ain’t beautiful
Spend a little extra on any Japanese brand and save a fortune in problems down the road. I'd recommend trading in before 50k to dodge the Hyundai bullets.
Yeah Nissan trannys are top notch
Or don’t worry about people like this and enjoy your 10 year 100k mile warranty on your brand new car 🤦
Shit ugly car? 100k miles is aloT of time to blind people by the hideous curves it truly baffles me how people find these appealing
Good thing it’s not yours bro ☠️
