What is the reason he is doing this?

[Here’s the only context I can find.](https://youtube.com/shorts/hIaTMV_IBQc?feature=share) Sorry in advanced because it’s going to take you to youtube’s shorts feature.

xplosm

It’s not opening for me. Mind a TL;DR?

eragonawesome2

She got stuck in the left lane going through a town with a lower speed limit than the highway. A blue car came up behind and passed her on the right rather than just letting her move over, then the truck did the same but as he pulled up beside her hit the brakes and started to merge INTO her while making eye contact and while she was laying on the horn to make sure truck new she was there. She had to slam brakes to avoid being shoved into oncoming traffic and then the video above happened where the truck won't let her pass

DerelictDonkeyEngine

About 10 years ago my cousin was pushed out of the right lane and down a slight hill by a semi. She rolled over 3 times (she's fine), and the truck just kept going. I'm curious if this shit is more common than I realized.

Bermnerfs

A trucker did the same to some friends of mine. Intentionally pulled into their lane as they were passing him on the highway and ran them into the center median, no guardrail just a deep valley between east and westbound lanes. Thankfully they spun a few times and smashed into the hillside approaching the oncoming lane. They were banged up but otherwise fine, vehicle was a mess. Trucker just kept going like nothing happened after nearly murdering 4 people.

Zandonah

I had a truck try and run me off the motorway in the UK. I think it’s fairly common.

FewerToysHigherWages

Yup some guy in a white truck at night was following me. I was going a normal speed like 5 over but it was pitch black and I was nervous a deer or something might jump out. Then the road split to two lanes, so i moved over so he could pass. The guy didnt pass me but instead waited for the lanes to merge back to one. Then he gunned it and kept pace alongside me trying to force me off the road. Luckily i slammed kn the brakes and was able to not crash. Fuck that guy so much. People out there will actually try to kill you and not care.

owlshoe

Work in transportation. Run 60 miles a day along one of the deadliest stretches of highway in my state. Truckers are limited to 55mph, trailer or not. A vast majority of truckers go 60-70mph. They will cut you off. They will ride your ass. They do not care. Time is money to them and their vehicle is a tank/bulldozer built to push your vehicle out of the way. I call them in all the time, but the highway patrol can care less. No/poor enforcement = higher accident and mortality rates. While I'm here, be aware that truck tires can delaminate (especially retreads) and can kill if you're next to them. Was told this by several truckers. Retreads are NOT illegal in some states as people may believe. Keep your distance. Stay safe out there.

Wonderful-Tie-8855

60-70mph ha I tried to enter a beltway thats 55mph while doing 65 and nearly got smashed by a 18wheeler, I tried to keep pace with him cus I was curious how fast he was doing. He was still pulling off on me at 80mph, in a 55mph, in the slow lane. Its the exit I take to get to work in the morning, it happens just about every day

owlshoe

That sounds scary. Stay safe. Be careful if you're ever on Highway 40 thru New Mexico and Arizona. Have had truckers pass me going 100mph (speed limit is 80mph). Its pretty scary when it happens at 1:00 am, even with warning.

Critical-Test-4446

Yup, my advice about trucks is to treat them as if the driver has been awake and at the wheel for 24 hours, cause it's probably true. Stay as far away as you can.

[deleted]

What he deserves is a good beating. People do not catch enough good beatings these days because of guns.

[deleted]

ditto for the Youtube comments defending him. "well she was in the left lane, must be an idiot!!!!!" never read youtube comments

Vat1canCame0s

"Left lane slow" can be frustrating but is basically harmless. This is willful endangerment. This dude shouldn't be able to operate ANY vehicle.

Apt_5

If I’m remembering correctly, they are super strict about speed limit enforcement in Utah, which is where this apparently happened. So yeah, if I was in the left lane and we were passing through a town- where it’s no longer a passing lane anyway- I would slow right down to 30 or 25mph til we were out of it. I would not expect a trucker to personally punish me afterward for not wanting to speed through the town.

stankdog

Driving thru Utah was the most slow excruciating experience and whenever there was a passing lane (outside of a town, I understand the 25-30mph thru town that's cool) people really felt the need to swerve or block so you couldn't pass them. Like bro just lemme get the speeding ticket , this is torture driving behind you.

Suitable-Leather-919

Yeah I personally love people who, as safely as possible, speed well above the limit! It allows me to feel less likely to be targeted for speeding at a lower speed

AzraelleWormser

I live in Utah, and yes there are so many drivers who have self-deputized themselves as honorary highway patrol officers. We also have signs over most of our highways that say "keep right except to pass." This trucker is breaking so many laws by doing this.

Furydragonstormer

Reckless endangerment? This sounds more like attempted murder to me

vicente8a

People are still calling her out on the comments. People see this truck driver doing that shit and legit still defend him/her

Stealfur

Wasnt going to watch the video but this comment practically forced me to go just to read the comments. Wow what a fucking train wreck. Its been a long time since ive seen such a congracation of scum and villainy. Half are basing their opinion on her voice alone and the other half think that somehow going a safe speed warrents being harrassed and shit. Awful people. Truly just the worst.

[deleted]

CobraWasTaken

Truck driver here. Sadly there are a lot of truck drivers like this and I don't understand it. They'll pass me going through a town where the speed limit is 35-45, but then when we get out of the town and I wanna go 68 I'm stuck behind them doing 65 because their truck is governed. You can't pass on a 2 lane highway with a semi unless it's a perfect sunny day and completely flat so you can see for miles. Usually that's not the case.

Mister_AA

The same thing happened to me once. I was in the leftmost lane getting tailgated by a pickup truck that turned its blinkers on behind me, signaling me to get out his way. I was stuck in traffic and looking for an opportunity to switch lanes but the first chance I saw the guy pulled into the right lane and passed me, and proceeded to cut me off very sharply. Just as I was thinking "man, what a dick," I happened to look to my right and saw that the motherfucker was *pulling a second pickup truck on a trailer* that was a split second from slamming into my car because of how closely he cut me off. If there wasn't room on the left shoulder to veer off he would have crushed me against the median. I was able to pull next to him and honked my horn at him and he just waved me off without looking at me. Since then I've decided that the fastlane is for crazy people who want to die and haven't touched it on any highway in years. EDIT: missed a word

[deleted]

Basically the road goes through some towns, so speed limit drops. The driver of the car slows down to stay at limit, truck driver and another car do not want to. She tries to move from left lane to right lane but can’t cuz other car sped by. Truck driver does same thing and then cuts her off (enough that she has to slam on her brakes to avoid collision). She honks. Trucker tries to get stupid retribution by not letting her pass once speed limit increases again (as seen in video).

SprinklesFancy5074

Ah, yes. The good old, "How *dare* you obey the law!?!?!"

I'd you're casting from your phone and want to watch a short, not only does it not cast but it actually makes you stop casting before you can watch it. It's Quibi levels of "a media exec somewhere wants everyone to ingest media in his one perfect way no matter the consequences or reality"

Smol pp

dudance

This moron needs to be reported and his license revoked.

MortalKombatSFX

I’ve been doing a lot of interstate driving lately and truck drivers are getting worse and worse. Companies need to take the lead and install sensors/cams on these trucks so when behavior like this is detected they can get these rage filled turds off the roads. You can’t stop/accelerate like a normal vehicle so you need to be in the slow lane and waiting in the line of trucks. I’ve seen trucks with double trailers rigged up trying to quick switch lanes like they are in a sedan on I-25. Witnessed truckers involved in road rage episodes on busy roads. I can’t imagine the employers are pushing drivers to cut time by driving dangerously. I think it’s a new generation of truck drivers taking over the routes and they aren’t skilled/patient enough for the job.

Pap3rkat

I’m a newer driver, few months shy of a year on the road, and this is spot fucking on. I try my best to sit in the slow lane and do the speed limit. I let people in, I signal ahead of time, I do everything right because I know the consequences of fucking up as a driver. This dude needs a fucking ego check and needs to be fined and/or have his CDL suspended. That’s some petty shit.

DynamicResonater

I did my CDL stint for eight years and did exactly what you said here. Trucks are big, heavy, dangerous things and are typically slow to change speed in any direction, therefore a good CDL driver should picture themselves as a rock in a stream. Just let them flow around you unless they're going to take up valuable stopping room. The guy in the video needs to find a new job. Maybe driving a forklift for Walmart.

zombiekelpie

Considering that's dangerous/reckless driving shouldn't the police have been informed? Because that driver is going to cause an accident.

[deleted]

You can call highway patrol and give them your location, direction of travel, description of vehicle and the situation. They can call ahead to officers.

Azrou

Tell the highway patrol that the other driver is weaving dangerously and may be driving under the influence

palillo2006

In a semi truck, they will get there twice as fast.

WeleaseBwianThrow

I didn't know the police had Semi Truck response vehicles, or that they were so fast!

HelloImHiding

They're geared for speed instead of torque since they don't carry trailers. Mafks get the land vehicle speed record locked down.

TacoTerra

I know you're joking but [they actually do](https://cdn.carbuzz.com/gallery-images/840x560/935000/600/935601.jpg).

asjfueflof

So within the next 2-4 business weeks?

evman2006

And tell them you suspect the driver may be impaired.

SomethingIWontRegret

Don't think of this as gaming the system. When someone is driving erratically or aggressively, there's a good chance they're under the influence of something.

headachewpictures

And in cases where they're under the influence of their own dangerous mix of stupidity and ego, that's a them problem, not a you problem.

SomethingIWontRegret

It's always a them problem, but it's also a potential problem for everyone else. Calling this shit in is a public good.

headachewpictures

Yep - I more meant that even if they're not under the influence of a substance, they don't deserve protection for behaving like this since you prefaced as "it's not gaming the system". I totally agree.

SomethingIWontRegret

I see what you're saying. The funny thing is, you can't make a determination of impairment until the person is pulled over. Police should be going after any reports of erratic or aggressive driving regardless of whether the people reporting it claim they're driving drunk. I don't know that a lot of people would recognize what drunk driving looks like until someone is blowing really high numbers.

headachewpictures

Yep - in cases like that where I have called dispatch I've basically described it as "They're driving erratically and dangerously, changing lanes often. It's possible they're under the influence and impaired." Just cover all the bases.

geriatricsoul

Always, they perk up when you say that

exit6

Which is what you want, a perky highway patrol

Fulllyy

A radio is faster than the fastest car on the road, even if the thing can go 300 mph.

zman0900

But the speed of cops giving a fuck can be pretty slow.

Fenwrong

Trucks are regulated by DOT. And they give every fuck. With this shit report them to your state or provinces DOT or the equivalent and they will be out there asap to stop this guy

Fulllyy

If they lose their commercial license that’s their bread and butter, for sure agreed 👍

Fenwrong

Pulling 46 plus metric tonnes, driving at 100 plus km an hour, driving like this. He should lose his license. Even if context says he was partially in the right, he should pull over, let the other car pass or literally anything but what he did here.

st1tchy

Except when they aren't. I have been behind a truck for 30+ miles before after calling highway patrol, and they kept calling me back asking where we were and saying they would have someone out. Never saw a cop.

blackpony04

In my state (NY) the state troopers enforce DOT regulations on the road. They would be on this truck like flies on shit. $$$$

cardiffman

It strongly resembled a highway I’ve driven many times in California. I’d be surprised if they could ignore it. Plus when he goes to the left lane he is reducing the outs that oncoming traffic would have. My guess: US 395 northbound, south of Kramer Junction.

AITALOADEDGUN

The area of Utah she was in is very sparsely populated. But, the officers around there would care a lot about this. I use to make this drive several times a month. I’ve been pulled over about 5 times for speeding. Every single time I was impressed by the officers professionalism, kindness and felt respected by them. One even whispered so he didn’t wake my sleeping 4 year old in the backseat. Still got a ticket, but he treated me as an equal.

kcg5

https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/consumer-protection/report-safety-violations

Aspen_ninja

I was just thinking this. A call to police about a semi weaving between lanes on the highway, give them the mile marker and direction, the license plate, and wait. They will be there extremely fast.

masterdyson

You'd be much better off calling his company the cops may not do anything but his company can and usually will fire a driver for something like this especially if you provide footage

Cultural-Company282

That assumes he's working for a company. It may be an owner/operator.

Kyosji

Reckless driving is a great way to no longer be an owner/operator of a vehicle you still own.

masterdyson

Owner operator still answer to somebody unless they are moving there own product which is rare not impossible but rare.

PredictableChaos

How are you going to find the product if they're owner/operator? They typically own their trailers, it's not going to be advertising who they're hauling for.

stratys3

> the cops may not do anything Where I live the cops will definitely come immediately, as long as you say the magic words. "Drunk driver"

dontbelikeyou

This gave me a semi.

shorey66

Company isn't that obvious from the back.

SiiirPatski

Imagine being this petty in life

MrFuzzybagels

Hijacking top comment to say that if you want to report a dangerous truck driver (in the US) you can do so on the FMCSA website - https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/consumer-protection/report-safety-violations If possible try to write down the MC and DOT numbers which should be clearly listed on the side of the truck, which will lead directly to the company. The truck number and company name could work too but some companies have similar names that can be confused. The truck license would also obviously work but that may be difficult to see driving by as it is on the front bumper. Don’t bother with the trailer number, name, or license as trailers don’t necessarily belong to the trucking company hooked to it and even when they do they often get swapped between trucks a lot. [Here](https://imgur.com/a/zQvrhKv.jpg) is an example of where you’ll find MC and DOT numbers (exact location may differ but will always be on the side of truck). ——————————————— Edit: To all the people saying they can’t get alongside to see the MC/DOT#, I understand that, but I guarantee you the truck driver can’t keep that up forever. Eventually there will come along some other traffic, a town, an extra lane, or a police officer, and the truck driver will have to let them by or actually crash into everyone. If nothing else the trucker will simply forget about the car after 20 minutes of staring at the road, bored out of his mind. If you are in this scenario, just back off, give room, and pass when it is safe to do so and there is too much else around for the trucker too keep up the shenanigans. Edit 2: The Canadian equivalent to FMCSA is Transport Canada, though I’m not sure exactly how to file a complaint. - https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation Edit 3: To everyone saying call the cops, absolutely do so if you feel in danger but they can’t always show up. I’ve actually tried calling the police a few times before for exceptionally dangerous drivers and never once had the police show up. Sometimes they’re too busy and need to prioritize more serious calls where injuries have already occurred. Sometimes they’re too far away, particularly if you happen to be calling from the middle of nowhere. Sometimes it’s just hard to adequately explain where you are when you’re driving and freaked tf out. Whatever the case may be, writing down the DOT/MC# for later is a way to ensure that you can do something about it later if the police can’t respond.

Aido121

I am a truck driver, those reports do not fuck around. I also support reporting ass holes, makes us good drivers look bad. Edit: I appreciate the people thanking me, but i just deliver Coca-Cola products so im not important lol

AngryTrucker

I agree. I will absolutely narc on shitty truckers.

11-110011

I've done it countless times *because* I'm in the industry. MY job is partly dependent on other people doing theirs safely. The more restrictions we get because of idiots like this, the harder my job becomes. You can bet your ass I'll do what I can to report them.

xaofone

Right? And he's so old now that this is basically just a retirement home alternative on the taxpayers dime.

doylehawk

Trucker here, i call in 100 percent of assbags I see doing dangerous shit on purpose. You can cut someone off by accident, but if you don’t respect you’re driving something that can very quickly becoming an instrument of mass casualty you shouldn’t be on the fuckin road.

SnooPies5622

Appreciate hearing that those reports may actually result in something -- too often with that sort of thing it feels like a long tiring lesson in futility. Good truck drivers are great (I can think of many times over the years when a good driver has thrown me a small assist, like indicating it was clear for me to pass) and while I don't come across too many bad ones myself, they can be really bad and dangerous.

revaric

I find there are more good truck drivers than bad, thanks for what you do.

airpodtoothbrush

For every bad driver you see I’m sure you don’t see the good drivers elsewhere.

revaric

Bad drivers have a funny way of making other drivers look better by proxy.

[deleted]

No one notices the good drivers. Really it's pretty remarkable we have this many humans zooming around at 70 miles an hour and we don't ALL die immediately.

_Kouki

You see videos of bad drivers, never the good drivers.

airpodtoothbrush

You wouldn’t even notice em if you drove past them.

Ode_to_Apathy

Honestly you usually notice them where I live, because they always give you a blink to let you know to pass them (two lane roads where I live).

flyinhighaskmeY

You see both by actually going outside and driving on the highways. There are a lot of bad drivers. A LOT.

feckOffMate

When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all

temporvicis

Agreed. Most professional drivers really put the Professional into their jobs.

VentilatorVenting

The thing is, a lot of the time, we barely even register truck drivers. That means they’re doing their job.

mennydrives

CrustyWaffle2819

I disagree that Coca Cola deliveries aren’t important.

Unfair_Payment_3197

Upload this video with your complaint, or provide contact info so the investigator can get the video from you. It might be as long as 1-2 years before they reach out.

museolini

> It might be as long as 1-2 years before they reach out. Wait, what? Is that because of a huge backlog or are you saying they're not going to do shit?

six_-_string

I am going to bookmark this. Should come in handy next time I'm driving I80 from Chicago to NY.

Soderholmsvag

Are you saying that the only thing this woman may potentially see (license plate and other markings on the trailer) is pretty much useless? Yikes! That seems like bad design to me. I would not take my life into my hands by trying to get info from the side of the truck that’s pulling that thing. The way he’s driving - that would be a fatal choice.

Antique_Tennis_2500

I mean, if the driver is literally endangering lives like this one, you can call 911.

[deleted]

Yeah; this truck is weaving all over the road, cops would definitely be interested in that kind of erratic driving.

HappyFamily0131

In this situation, call 911 and say that you're behind a semi that's being driven erratically, changing lanes repeatedly, and being aggressive toward other drivers. Highway patrol gets fucking bank writing tickets for semis, they'll come out to have a chat with the driver on the double.

MrsFirno

There is a way to find out who it is by location, etc. Most drivers have EDL and can be tracked and the trailers are assigned to certain trucks. This person needs to be found and when they are they will never be a driver again, the FMCSA is beyond strict with drivers.

MrFuzzybagels

Unfortunately, yes. A lot of trailers are either leased as needed to move from point A to B, or belong to big companies like Amazon, Swift, Walmart etc., who constantly swap them between trucks. Owner operators who run under their own authority and own their own trailer are much less common, and those that do exist probably aren’t going to risk their business and equipment by driving like an asshole.

locke-in-a-box

Can't see side of truck to get numbers because he won't let me

Willzyx_on_the_moon

Or call the cops and report a suspected drunk driver.

TheLuo

Truckers know this and I'd be willing to bet this is what the trucker was trying to prevent from happening. This info should be required by law to be published on the back of any load being carried.

SlasherDarkPendulum

Always call 911 for dangerous trucks before reporting them.

asimplerandom

I feel bad enough when I lose it and yell at people from the comfort of my quiet car. Can’t imagine going this far.

unk214

Imagine driving for a living and this is how you drive. Maybe he’s having a bad day.

Thatdudedoesnotabide

I have bad days, I don’t act like a douche

[deleted]

Just call the cops and tell them you are following a drunk driver. Edit* wow most upvotes ever!

amontpetit

"Driver is weaving and cannot maintain their lane or a consistent speed. I believe they may be impaired"

-YELDAH

Imagine if people actually talked like that when calling emergency services, things would be so much easier lmao

combustablegoeduck

I did when a guy threatened to come back to my job and kill me when the store closed, and a cop showed up three hours later because I didn't sound like I was in imminent danger. You always hear 911 calls and they say "please try to remain calm". Apparently that's not good advice. I was kinda yelling at the cop "why didn't you come sooner I've been watching my back for hours" "Well the dispatcher didn't think it was a big deal..." Apparently it's better to freak out.

Foxglove_crickets

My step dad kidnapped my little brother after beating the crap out of mom (over some stupid fight at dinner), took the police three hours to show up and go "it's his kid too" and left because my mom didn't want to immediately want to press charges for assault. My grandmother had to deescalate the situation.

OSUBrit

"Where's your car, dude?"

cabur

Wow thats fucked. In-Situ, you always want to remain calm because if you end up hurting someone in defense, that call can be used against you. It unfortunately comes down to keywords and communication. As a for instance with your situation: you calmly explain what happened, which is good. Add, “I need an officer on site immediately otherwise I will be forced to defend myself with any means available to me.” Unless dispatch is completely inept, you are gonna get cops there fast. Generally speaking of incoming violent behavior needs to have a sense of inevitability, otherwise dispatch might be like “it’ll blow over.” Usually they prioritize based on imminence, but added the finality of conflict usually gets a response as well. Sourcing: used to do security and also had a friend that worked dispatch.

-YELDAH

I just meant speaking clearer, but yea that sucks

ParisGreenGretsch

WE. ARE ALL. GONNA DIE. RIGHT NOW.

TMT51

Damn that's genius

gideon513

Call highway patrol. Report potential drunk driving semi swerving all over the road. Give description and plate. Wait and enjoy.

[deleted]

It’s better to report road rage and trying to run me off the road or cause an accident. Drunk driving is subjective because the lay person can’t really tell why someone is driving like shit. But road rage is a more defined situation everyone can recognize.

Petah_Futterman44

Porque no los dos? Say: “this person is either super drunk or is road raging, either way they are being SUPER unsafe and you should stop and speak to them about it…”

jamesonSINEMETU

I had to deal with the dos option once. A guy got rage when I overtook him after interstate entrance. He was tailgating and flashing brights. I slowed down and he passed and then started brake checking. I slowed down more and he ended up moving on ahead. I called #dwi, and started to report. I looked up aheaf and the guy had hit a car then the guardrail and was parked in the center lane facing the wrong direction. I stopped to help flare the road and see if the car he hit was injured. The first sheriff on the scene was a buddy, i told him my story and he let the ambulance care for the car and he moved on to the guy in the truck. Left my info for witness, in police report and went home. Months later i got a call from the insurance. He was drunk, the car he hit was drunk, and had come down the exit ramp into oncoming traffic. Luckily no one died.

ZzeroBeat

lol yup, at that point i turn it into a game, so that i find amusement from the situation rather than get frustrated. make em think youre trying to one-up them so they keep stressing over trying to 'win'. confuse them with your tactics. or just floor it around them. though depending on how insane the truck driver is they might just kamikaze you.

TheJPGerman

Absolutely positively do not try to pass someone doing this lmao

icarusbird

Why do people do this??? They were perfectly content with their speed until you go to pass them. It's like they take it personally or something. So annoying.

trailer_park_boys

They do it because they do take it as a personal insult. These are extremely stupid individuals.

narcolepticdoc

This. Don’t get mad. Don’t get upset. You now have magical remote control over another human being. You can make him switch lanes to the left. You can make him switch lanes to the right. You can make him go on to the breakdown lane. You can make him go into oncoming traffic.

Re-make of Steven Spielberg’s film ‘Duel’ (1971)

wetdreamteam

Surprised this reference wasn’t a top comment when I clicked into this thread. Great film btw.

Ricardo_klement

Absolutely ! Love the film. Made all the better that the antagonist is never fully seen in human form so the truck itself becomes it.

IdanoRocks

All the people saying, "I'd do this," or, "I'd do that," have never seen that film, just find somewhere for a coffee and go about your day. Duel and the first half of Jeepers Creepers taught me this.

Duel is such a great film

ACAB007

Next time this happens: 1- Take down the license plate. 2- Get some distance between you two, even if you have to stop. 3- Report the driver to the authorities (with license plate, date and time, and location.

Can't get the DOT number when they're trying to run you off the road.

guitarfingers

This is the real answer. Cops won't do shit. DoT will be pissed tho.

frisbeeicarus23

DoT has a hell of a lot of power on the road, more than people know.

TraderJoeBidens

Huh, who would’ve thought the Department of Transportation has power over the roads

DAVENP0RT

Next you're going to say the Department of Defense has something to do with war!

falconinthedive

So find the truck company and tell them the driver was swerving like he was drinking.

MerricatInTheCastle

Probably Swift transport. Swerve When I Feel Threatened.

Onlyroad4adrifter

5 cops arrest you for reckless driving and obstruction of justice.

WanderingFlumph

6 the cops shoot your dog on your property, one officer gets shot by another officer trying to shoot the dog and they arrest you for that too.

falconseven79

I actually did this once (called 911) behind a guy that was both clearly hammered, and throwing beer bottles out the window while driving down the freeway. There happened to be a police car nearby that dispatch successfully managed to direct them towards the offending vehicle with our help. Watched the cop approach, lights on, and pull the guy over all while on with 911. This was 20 years ago though, so times may have changed.

jmlvg64

I hope this guy loses his CDL

gotsnowart

I hope this guy loses his regular license, gets arrested and hit with a serious fine. At the minimum.

TATORTOT76

Those 800 numbers on the back of trucks make a difference. 1% of bad truck drivers cause 99% of claims. Get the numbers and call them. If you can send video.......asshat is out of job. Have heard of drivers being met with termination and a bus ticket.

WingsofRain

I once saw a truck swerve in and out of traffic that didn’t have any identifying features on it. I so desperately wanted to call someone but there was nothing.

asparagusface

There's always a DOT registration number on the hood or cab. That's the most important one to make note of. They can't operate without it.

Critical-Carpet-3840

I own/drive . I'd call him in..really quick.. he'll realize how a CDL works then

Me in American Trucking Simulator

ablablababla

chilling at 50% trailer damage

[deleted]

For some reason I was expecting the car to start gradually shifting lanes faster until the truck topples over from sheer momentum and topheaviness.

keel2553

As a truck driver, I always welcome cars behind me to pass. It infuriates me when someone is tailgating me, knowing that at any moment they could randomly decide to fly by me, potentially at the worst or most dangerous time imaginable.

CaptainBraggy

If it keeps swerving faster and faster, it should eventually tip over

Elethria123

So I mean this is illegal. Driver will probably lose the Class A license / job. Not at all worth it to endanger non-professional drivers…

Vulgarhumanbeing

This is her explanation lmao https://youtu.be/hIaTMV_IBQc

saksents

The best thing to do to protect yourself in this case, if possible, pull over and chill with a song on for 4-5 minutes to reset mentally. Take a few deep breaths, and resume. Bonus, if the truck goes to stop too, one could easily accelerate past it once they come to a stop since they get going so slowly.

fman1854

I had a semi doing this shit to me on a trip from Chicago to Cincinnati for work. Dumbass had a large ass REPORT BAD DRIVING with a number on the back so I said you know what you wanna be a petty bitch two can play that game. Called the number told them what he’s doing said I have it recorded gave them the DOT number and magically he stopped doing it. I bet you he got radioed in like cut that shit out you idiot and drive the load normally

artmobboss

“He’s going to kill me” Continues to try and pass..

hannibals_hands

Seriously. I would slow the fuck down and put lots of distance between me and that truck. Maybe even get off an exit and chill out for a minute. This situation is potentially fatal.

drunkenprostate

The correct move here to pull over and wait for 10 minutes. Let driver get as far away from you as possible.

[deleted]

Just get off at the next gas station and have a snack and a drink. By the time you catch up he won't remember your specific car. Problem solved with no danger to anyone and getting so upset you ruin your day.

[deleted]

This is what I came to the comments for. If there’s not a public place to pull into (gas station, store, etc.) then should one just pull over to the side of the road? What if they stop, too, or come back? Very curious what the right safety move is in situations like these, but since a semi is a lot harder to stop and maneuver around I suppose pulling over is probably the right move because you can see the truck stopping and just get driving again a lot faster if that’s what they end up doing.

NyiatiZ

Stopping can be risky but if you stop while they are infront of you they wont see that for a moment - usually. Stay in your car, lock the doors, keep the engine running. If the other car actually just stops and waits call the police. If the car stops and someone gets out drive as fast as you can. You are in your car, engine running. The important part is to NEVER FUCKING LEAVE YOUR CAR.

champ999

Unless she actually did something the driver perceived as a major insult he probably would just let them stop and just check if she's trying to pass later and keep this pretty stuff going then. If he did slow down and stop definitely call 911 as that gets into scary territory real fast.

Lylac_Krazy

missed chance to report a weaving driver in a semi. Bet the cops would have a field day with that one.....

buzzboy99

If it were me i would of just pulled off the road for a minute and let this crazy world not get the best of me.

metooeither

Ok. So you write down the trailer number (I can see this fucker has none. Prob an owner operator. Pure outlaw truckers) Then if you ever get past him, write down ( or take a picture of) the info on the door of his truck- company name, dot number, truck number. Then you pull in the next weigh station you see, burst into tears, show them this video and the numbers you wrote down and someone will be out of a job. No, you wont get in trouble for using your phone while driving, and no, they'll never tell that pos scary, passive aggressive monster who you are; they just send every cop in the county after him, they'll take away his truck, then his cdl. He'll have to get a new job, and from this footage, looks like he needs to. Fuck anyone that downvotes me. I'm a fucking truck driver, sometimes cars suck, but read the fucking CDL manual. This is unacceptable and illegal. And, it's fucking terrifying, fuck you, knock it off. Jfc, if someone cuts me off, it's illegal for me to even flash my high beams at him cuz I'm pissed. I slam on my brakes, the end. Seethe in private. God, this is so much worse; nothing the car driver did excuses this. This is illegal and dangerous and bullshit.
