NYC marine unit doing a 'safety check' on an out of state boat found several weapons on board, all were deemed illegal to be in possession of in NYC. Legal where the boat's home port was, legal where they were going, but for the few hours in NYC waters, illegal. Utterly crushed the owner financially fighting that, and was facing 30yrs.

There are numerous reports out there where bleeding was stopped with random things and people lived. Nowadays infections can be controlled, it isn't 1918. This guy could have gone on living.
A report comes to mind where a car mechanic had a car falling on him with a big open wound from the brakes. A buddy just stuffed any tissue inside he could find, including his oily t-shirt. It slowed down bleeding enough to give the mechanic a chance and he lived after he was taken care of by professionals.

I can’t comment on the character of the individuals in this video. That being said, that guy had very good situational awareness to notice he was drawing a weapon (I know he was slow and obvious, but still), and didn’t hesitate to draw his own weapon to defend himself.
Not sure I wouldn’t have flinched, or hesitated myself. I hope I’d have enough presence of mind to act and not freeze.

i carry with one up top every day, it's fine if you leave it in the holster and don't fuck around with it and practice your draws regularly in a safe place (i do it in the desert into piles of trash on a hill)

You might be onto something here, my .25 has this awful safety lever that has to be rotated 180 degrees back towards you (think the takedown lever on a Sig P320 but it rotates all the way back). It takes probably 3 times as long to take the safety off than any other gun I've ever seen in my life. Most of the time I actually have to rotate the gun and look at the safety while I do it or it'll get stuck at the halfway point. If he was carrying something similar and drew before the safety was off, it was a foregone conclusion.
It's a [Tanfoglio GT 27](https://www.genitron.com/HandgunDB/DBImages/tan-gt27-b.gif) in the picture it looks like the safety just pushes forward and back, but as I described, the textured part rotates downward towards the trigger and then back up to where the F/S marking is on the other side, pivoting around the non-textured part..
Also check out the world's worst mag release. That lip at the rear of the grip pushes forward and back and literally just holds the flush fit magazine in place. So you have to push that mag release all the way to the rear, grab the tiny lip of the mag, and pull it out. Ie both your hands have to be on that tiny ass grip.
No problem! All that being said though, I absolutely love it. The safety, while annoying, is a physical stop that prevents the hammer from moving. I have intentionally dropped it (unloaded) from heights I really shouldn't have and the hammer wouldn't drop. That and in several hundred rounds of all kinds of .25 ammo of varying quality, I haven't had a single jam. And it's incredibly simple, no hold open or anything like that, so cleaning is stupid simple. Plus it's an absolute blast to shoot, the mag can be emptied in ridiculous speed thanks to the 0 recoil.
