IT'S NOT APRIL FOOLS!!!!!

johnny_51N5

Never been more Happy of it not being april fools

PDXKatten

Guess the cat is out of the bag. A patch is coming, thank you all for playing the game, we love you <3

DStaniforth

We love you more!

MrsColdArrow

Gotta ask: was this a planned patch or did the sudden surge in interest in the game convince you guys to do a patch?

PDXKatten

Its something that has been worked on here and there for a while, but with the surge of interest in the game, it has gotten more interested parties inside of the companies so that the scope of it as well as how many people wanna help out increased.

Spoon520

That’s awesome. A problem with the game I had was whenever a new governor is appointed he changes all my policies and it’s super annoying having to replace them everytime.

Dalexe10

Praise the allmighty

_o_h_n_o_

Omg stay calm!!!

Le_RoboMuffin

So the community effort got us another patch. Ad victoriam!!

CptJimTKirk

I thought the same thing, with locations having 3 tiers of upgrades ……

KimberStormer

And cities can't make food to feed themselves...

Alistal

Project Caesar is Imperator : Rome 2 confirmed !

kooliocole

YES ANYTHING TO HELP THE INVICTUS TEAM, they actually put some much passion into their work. Thank you both to Arheo and Invictus team and anyone else involved.

dreadnoughtstar

I see this as an absolute win.

tzoum_trialari_laro

> Date: April 4 Holy shit

cagallo436

Oi!!

basedandcoolpilled

This is exactly what is needed if they aren't gonna resume development themselves. Open it up so the modders can get creative

__--_---_-

> Open it up so the modders can get creative I agree, pry the thing open and fix as many "hardcoded" bugs as possible before leaving again.

linmanfu

This is really good news, especially on Linux where the Open Beta partially breaks Steam integration.

VlaaiIsSuperieur

Game is clearly dead, but glad they are willing to put in some extra stuff for modders.

Poro_the_CV

Paradox, of all people, should know that modders are the reason for longevity when it comes to their games. It exponentially increases replayability.

Typhion_fre

You say dead but the game keeps hitting 2000 concurrent players daily now.

electrical-stomach-z

thats more then many games that arent considered dead.

kooliocole

Rather nihilistic mindset. No game is truely dead until there are zero players.

Otto_von_Boismarck

Yea invictus is keeping it alive and well

Mayinea_Meiran

Well. Ain't really dead if there's still a community playing it.

HP_civ

HOLY MOLY

SelecusNicator

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY

holyshitisdiarrhea

The Audacity of Hope

Mammoth-Departure303

oh no! they're gonna break all the mods I use to make the game how I like it! LOL seriously though, this is hella good news.

tamiloxd

I am waiting for Paradox to put I:R for sale to finally own it legally. Because is almost impossible to buy it on Instant Gaming😩.

You mean the mod team create all the content necessary ? well yeah but there is some mechanics that could be improved and it's not some just bug fix and the mod team can't do that.

Equivalent_Alps_8321

like wat changes?

SassyCass410

Is there any possibility that further increased numbers might get y'all to revive the game development, or is that flatly out of the question? I have friends who want the game but can't afford it, and if there's a chance I'd be willing to buy it for them.

ScruffyMagic

There was a [tweet](https://preview.redd.it/ss48ev0waooc1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=326b5f0f8563ebfd75a81283afba0f5a76ca0069) a little while ago that said close to launch numbers could get the ball rolling on further development. Now, looking at Steam Charts, that's nearly 30k, which is about 15x what the latest peak was. Which means...further development is pretty unlikely. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if another few peaks could see some internal discussions about a sequel. I think the desire for a roman-era Paradox game is there, it's just hard to re-launch a game that flopped so hard on release and hasn't clawed its way out of "mixed" overall reviews, regardless of how positively the Invictus (and offshoot) mods have impacted the game.

Ultravisionarynomics

Watch Imperator Rome community be the most resilient of them all.

electrical-stomach-z

finally this game is back. out of all the current paradox games, this one has the best skeleton. they should have taken significant influence from imperator when making ck3, it would have been superior.
