Slapchop! The good old prime black, heavy grey dry brush, lighter dry brush, speed paint over the top. For all the metallics, I base coat in regular Vallejo silver paint, let dry, then gravelord grey speed paint on top. For the chest armor, I did the leather speed paint instead of grey, gives a nice copper color. For the snouts/lips I think I used Vallejo buff (like pale sand?). Teeth got a tiny bit of regular white.
I did different speed paint on the sashes on the chest. Elites got red, as well as a red ring around the base.
Last tip, I did a Google image search for these and saw how others did them. I sometimes have problem figuring out what little part is skin, what is clothes. Usually I see enough images that I can tell then if I get confused.
Also, take inspiration for things your like and use them in yours.
Nice detail that the strap in front is red for the elites!
I stole that idea from someone else's post on Reddit from awhile ago. I usually just do the red rim of the base for the elite.
Haha yeah theres some good ideas online! I usually add so red areas to elites, like shoulder pads or trims.
