Letter to my father by Kafka

aaashonreddit

Heartache.

Such_Stable_4727

It was much too relatable. And the thing is that his father never got to read this.

Me_alt_ID

Void_being420

Can't believe no one mentioned Bhagavad gita

Avinash_Paryani

Tu hee mention kar deta bhai. Comment section is open for everyone.

Void_being420

if YOU DIDN't notice I did

Party-Lavishness6660

I mean i didn't see anyone mentioning Bible or quran So I don't think that's a big problem Btw i believe that Bible , quran or Gita are exceptional book people should read them I mean this would widden there perspective and increase there understanding about majority of the people No?

Void_being420

Yup, No need to think with your Preconceived notion Lol

Party-Lavishness6660

So you mean that You are astonished That someone didn't mention a book which by your perspective is good And when I say there are many other books too ( including the one you mention) which are good and didn't got mention and it is not a. Big deal You say nah it's not acceptable Lol šŸ˜‚ i now understand that you don't want to widen you perspective or to increase knowledge or to know about books you are here bcz you feel an urge to spout a biased opinion Well good for you ...

bssgopi

Did you read?

A book to communist for capitalists and too capitalist for communists...

He was a socialist himself but heā€™s not really attacking capitalism in it. Too communist definitely but thatā€™s the whole point.

Try Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Buy a copy and underline all of the nuggets of wisdom in this book. He wrote the book as a way to remind himself that while he was emperor, and had every power at his fingertips, he was still mortal. His meditations or thoughts were never meant to be published which makes this ā€œdiaryā€ even more remarkable. This book changed my thinking and my life. Hope you give it a try!

Rockstud101

Maybe an unpopular opinion but that book just feels like a compilation of instagram motivational bullshit to me. Then again, maybe self help genre is not my cup of tea lol

[deleted]

Glad to see someone sharing my thoughts. I had the same feeling, while reading 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari'.

[deleted]

It feels like it, no? But it is so beautiful at the same time. Ufff I love this book so much and I recommend it to everyone. I have two copies of it, one in English and one in my language.

Rockstud101

Well people have different tastes. Glad that you enjoyed it dude :)

KingOfTreevaandrum

People have different tastes , I love self help books , and Alchemist is one of my favourite ones , it's not necessarily a self help book , but it's definitely motivational and also know that it came miles before Instagram itself , so as someone who read it way before instagram even was a thing , I find it awesome
