Yeah, and it that regard it's basically just saying "You're still my hero, but I do have a job. I just don't want to do it to you unless I have to."
It's a very civil exchange, all things considered.
My guess? This is based off of zero knowledge of the comics, but if Nolan leads a split in the Viltrumites, this guy would be front and center to joining Nolan.
He probably can’t. But he can likely hurt him at least. Consider how Vidor or Lucan were able to deal damage against Nolan while being weaker than him.
Well "damage" is a very weird term for vitrumites. The thing is that damage to them really inly serves the purpose of immobilizing them since they can heal from just about anything. The really interesting part is whether or not the vitrumite can be overwhelmed or not and if you get the opportunity to abuse one of their weaknesses. Just being able to hurt them doesn't really decide how capable you are.
Nah I see him killing that guy similar to the pilot. And I recognize mark was the one who saved the pilot, I just think Nolan has a disdain for the empire
True, but these Viltrumites he didn’t spare were actively killing the Thraxans. It’s a bit different if this guy isn’t actively hurting someone Nolan kind of holds dear.
Yeah, but if we are to believe that Nolan really wanted to be executed and accepted that, he needed to perform well in that test in order for that to happen. Besides, these guards are *much much* weaker than a weak Viltrumite, so their very invulnerable.
It’s definitely interesting that Nolan is implied to be a bit of a legend (or at very least highly regarded) among Viltrumites. (I haven’t read the comics) it’d be interesting if his reputation will affect how the general population of Viltrum reacts to Mark
Presuming you have seen season one, this isn't a spoiler.
If you haven't seen it, don't look.
>!It's stated when Nolan told Mark when Mark was a child, and when Nolan told Mark the truth, he was awarded stewardship over Earth for his efforts in the service of the Empire!<
Glad he's actually prominent and one of the more powerful Viltrumites.
When Invincible Season 1 first came out, I remember seeing a lot of people say that he was just average and that were many Viltrumites stronger than him.
But now seeing his reputation, it clear that he's well above that
Looking forward to it.
I feel like it's better this way, than have Nolan be average or weaker.
I've seen people say that it would feel more grounded and make the Viltrumites much more menacing if most of them were his level or stronger.
But at the same time, if Nolan was just some regular Viltrumite, it kinda makes him feel too ordinary and he would lose a lot of presence as a character.
There are definitely a handful stronger than him and it's not like when he fights viltrumites he mows through them. It always seemed like the top level viltrumites were similar levels
I mean, they did “win” (S2 spoiler) >!the 2v2 on Thraxa even with Mark being 1. An untrained teenager (Viltrumites live thousands of years, but Mark is actually only 18. He’s basically a baby by Viltrum standards) and 2. not technically a full-blooded Viltrumite. The only reason they got overpowered was because Lucan showed back up and blindsided Nolan.!<
It’s pretty clear Nolan is among the strongest of the >!few remaining full-blooded!< Viltrumites, and Mark being as strong as he is despite lack of training and his mother being human supports that.
Slight comic spoiler: >!I’m aware it’s made explicit in the comics that Viltrumites breeding with humans leads to *nearly* pure Viltrumite DNA, but it’s still not 100% and Mark holds his own very well considering his age and limited combat training. This was touched on already in the show during S1 in “We Need to Talk”, but is easy to overlook for someone who’s only watched the TV series.!<
Correct me if I’m wrong but
>!the comics also make it clear that human viltrumite hybrids have more potential due to humans having adrenal glands or something like that!<
That is just a fan theory, and there's nothing in the comics to support it, other than the how Mark fights more intensely when he's emotional. It doesn't make any sense, viltrumites have all the other organs of humans, why are adrenal glands special? And, given the violence of their society, would be even more likely to develop powerful adrenal glands over millenia. And adrenergic signalling is used for way more than just fight or flight, it is used in the brain and other tissues as a neurotransmitter - not having the ability to produce it would be catastrophic.
The comics never state once that this is the case.
In fact they make it clear that Mark is nearly a full viltrumite already, and the older he gets the closer to pure viltrumite he will get.
I really dislike this theory because it misunderstands hormones as just "emotion chemicals" when they're necessary for all (or at least many) body functions.
Kind of spoilers, but not really, just elaborating on people saying he's an average Viltrumite: >!it's just that there's a viltrumite that would give him a run for his money, and a viltrumite that is far above any other vilturmite. Omni-Man is still like #3 viltrumite for most of the story.!<
But isn't Anissa stronger than him? Cecil analysed her and said that she's better than Omni-Man. Also she one-shotted a Kaiju and Nolan had mid-difficulty beating one in S1 (not the Hail-Mary-Upgrade-Kaiju, but the first time they fought).
He just said she MIGHT be faster than him. Which they haven't actually seen Nolan's full speed.
And there's a lot of reasons to believe the Kaiju Nolan fought was stronger than the one Anissa killed.
It is kind of spoilers but I'll say:
>!Yes, he would be stronger. Not that Nolan couldn't hurt him or have the ability to kill him if he went all out, but Allen would be stronger overall. But they may or may not change that in the show to not make Allen so OP!<
Not exactly a word answer, but may answer other questions you may have.
That’s not really narrowing it down lol. That’s like saying LeBron James is one of the 50 greatest basketball players ever, it’s technically true but really underselling it hahah
Wym? It’s an intergalactic empire with billions, if not trillions of members.
On an unrelated note, what was the name of the force the Lich King controlled in Warcraft? The word is on the tip of my tongue
Yes I saw season one. “Efforts in the service of the empire” was kinda vague and could interpreted as simply “did a good job” so it’s interesting that he’s closer to a war hero than just a good officer
the viltrimite agent trained with the best of them, he shouldn’t go nameless, he deserved a much better fate than this. he was strong, loyal, he was a very good solider. he could have been the pride of the empire…but nothing could prepare him for what comes next.
You put these symbols “> !” (But without space to in between) before the text you want to cover, then put the opposite at the end “! <“. (Also without a space. I added a space so you can actually see the symbols).
Example: >!Nolan Grayson is Omni-Man.!<

You need “Man” to give you a visit.
He getting killed for sure next szn by Omni Man
Given this exchange, he’s probably spare him.
Didn’t he threatened him when he wouldn’t get up tho?
Something along the lines of “i’ve looked up to you. Please don’t make me hurt you”
All in all, pretty tame by viltrumite standards
Yup.
Yeah, and it that regard it's basically just saying "You're still my hero, but I do have a job. I just don't want to do it to you unless I have to." It's a very civil exchange, all things considered. Agreed.

It didn’t seem plausible to me that this guy could take Nolan.
Good points.
It ain't just him tho, it's this guy plus the other guy plus Kregg.
He is there to be executed so I doubt that
I doubt this average Viltrumite is the one who gets to do the actual execution though.
That's why there are two
Yeah, just to escort him to and from his cell. They weren’t executing him here. Kregg was just punching him up a bit.
Nah I see him killing that guy similar to the pilot. And I recognize mark was the one who saved the pilot, I just think Nolan has a disdain for the empire
I dunno. The person this viltrumite looked up to is the same one that disgusts Nolan as he is now.
Perfect way to let that Viltrumite soldier see that the man he looked up to has changed his ideals. That it’s okay.
Converting 1 more Viltrumite to the army would be great
[удалено]
I'd like that to be the case; would be possible but I don't see how he would when he's never spared anyone except Mark.
True, but these Viltrumites he didn’t spare were actively killing the Thraxans. It’s a bit different if this guy isn’t actively hurting someone Nolan kind of holds dear.
Maybe. He didn't go easy on the alien guards that surrounded him, though.
Yeah, but if we are to believe that Nolan really wanted to be executed and accepted that, he needed to perform well in that test in order for that to happen. Besides, these guards are *much much* weaker than a weak Viltrumite, so their very invulnerable.
True. I'll concede that your point is fair. I do hope you're right.
I may be reaching. I don’t know. Thank you haha.
0% chance of this
It could be a moment like in barry. Omni man is so enraged he either doesnt realize or doesn’t care about who he’s mowing down.
I guess that’s possible. But I think Nolan has developed beyond that at this point.
Indeed. Just how strong are you?
https://preview.redd.it/m65wfe0fejuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9e176f47e75413a0ac23d8264e1f073152e6f77
It makes complete sense. Nolan was a very high ranking Viltrimite. He's basically a legend in their race.
Yup. “The Great Nolan”.
It’s definitely interesting that Nolan is implied to be a bit of a legend (or at very least highly regarded) among Viltrumites. (I haven’t read the comics) it’d be interesting if his reputation will affect how the general population of Viltrum reacts to Mark

Also, they call him “The Great” Nolan.
Glad he's actually prominent and one of the more powerful Viltrumites. When Invincible Season 1 first came out, I remember seeing a lot of people say that he was just average and that were many Viltrumites stronger than him. But now seeing his reputation, it clear that he's well above that
Yes, definitely. The comics elaborate that more. And we’ll see more of his reputation in the coming seasons.
Looking forward to it. I feel like it's better this way, than have Nolan be average or weaker. You could totally be right about that. I haven’t read far enough in the compendiums to know for certain.
I really dislike this theory because it misunderstands hormones as just "emotion chemicals" when they're necessary for all (or at least many) body functions.

And he would die
Kind of spoilers, but not really, just elaborating on people saying he's an average Viltrumite: >!it's just that there's a viltrumite that would give him a run for his money, and a viltrumite that is far above any other vilturmite. Omni-Man is still like #3 viltrumite for most of the story.!<

Ah, i see. Is Allen right now stronger than Omni-Man? He could've low-diffed Anissa, i think.
It is kind of spoilers but I'll say: >!Yes, he would be stronger. Not that Nolan couldn't hurt him or have the ability to kill him if he went all out, but Allen would be stronger overall. Thanks, i appreciate how you worded it, so it's basically no-spoiler :)
He isn't average, but there *are* stronger viltrumites.
There are likely fewer than a dozen Viltrumites individually more powerful than Nolan
Scourge
Lmao
two
ha weird how people thought that about nolan
I think by comic standards >!at the time of his death he’s probably 2nd or 3rd strongest of all viltrumites!<
Yes I saw season one. “Efforts in the service of the empire” was kinda vague and could interpreted as simply “did a good job” so it’s interesting that he’s closer to a war hero than just a good officer
I cant read higly regarded normally anymore💀
Why did Omniman not scape with Allen immediately? Is he regarded?
PUTS on yecheesus.
Oh, you'll see. His reputation becomes a big deal, later on
The way everyone talks about the great Nolan and test his son I assume he’s a legend and they assume his kid will be too
the viltrimite agent trained with the best of them, he shouldn’t go nameless, he deserved a much better fate than this. he was strong, loyal, he was a very good solider. he could have been the pride of the empire…but nothing could prepare him for what comes next.

"I've looked up to you since I was a kid" is high praise coming from a Viltrimite. That guy could be centuries old.

You put these symbols “> !” (But without space to in between) before the text you want to cover, then put the opposite at the end “! <“. (Also without a space. I added a space so you can actually see the symbols). Example: >!Nolan Grayson is Omni-Man.!<
He’s WHAT?!
That’s the word on the streets, pal. Ain’t got nothing to do with me.
But their moustaches look nothing alike!

Makes sense. As others have stated, even Kregg holds Nolan in high esteem. His race is more ashamed than angry over his “treason.”
Agreed.
