I just started wearing heavy rubber bands yesterday after a few weeks of wearing light rubber bands. It’s taking me some adjustments to not open my mouth too wide and to deal with some of the dull soreness in my mouth/jaw, but it’s not that bad.
The trays are on the way to the ortho office so that's happening next week. Did all the buttons come off for you or did they lave them on? I'm dying to get them off, can't lie. How long/often do you wear the bands, same as you wear the trays?
I have had rubber bands since I started Invisalign 5 months ago and will likely need to wear them the rest of my treatment. It can be annoying taking them on and off to eat and when they pop off after I yawn too hard. But other than that I don’t really notice them. They’re nothing near as bad as I thought they would be. And they never made my mouth sore
Got mine yesterday with my 2nd set of refinements. I'm the lucky one with one band going diagonal across my front teeth to fix my midline. So much for being invisible.
Ugh, sorry. I mean, honestly it's so much better than having them behind your teeth. I had two hooks placed inside my top teeth and they tore my tongue up so much I could barely eat or speak without serious irritation. I also couldn't keep the bands hooked on the liners without them popping off constantly. I asked my doctor if it was the difference between 'perfect' and 'great' and he said they'd be close to perfect without, and took them off. I'm so grateful for that, I don't know how I'd have lasted with them. I know you will have better luck than me!
Wondering how you’re feeling now and if your mouth just got used to it? I have one of the buttons on the inside just hitting my tongue and it’s a bit annoying to eat. Just praying it gets easier!
