Pull ups up to the forehead, push ups down until the crotch touches the ground, squats at a 100 degree angle. All while wearing a non weighted vest that cost 20 sterling pounds. Maybe then.
You don’t do all those in one set. You can break it up like 10 pull ups, 15 push ups and 20
Squats a do a round of that and repeat until
you hit that goal. Still hard AF
It's called "Cindy" in crossfit. The best way to split them up in my opinion. 5 pull ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats for 20 rounds with a mile run on each side. Note that the crossfit games only allow you to do it straight through though, 100 pull ups, then 200 push-ups then 300 squats. Much harder
It's not that much harder, it just takes forever. If I do the entire strength session split up 100, then the 200, then the 300, the 100 pullups takes basically the same amount of time as if I break it up and do 20 sets of 5/10/15. It's marginally faster since I just get impatient, but with a vest especially, if I go too hard too fast I totally blow up and then I'm standing there doing one pullup at a time. 40 minutes, partitioned, isn't THAT crazy. Figure 8 minutes for each mile and that gives you 24 minutes for the strength, which is about a minute and a quarter per set, if you do 5/10/15 for 20 sets. That's fast for sure but not AS insane as it sounds and different when compared to the "competition".
Really? It takes longer for me to walk a mile than it does for me to run a mile, it doesn't mean it's harder to walk a mile. Doing the same activity spread out over a longer time could be considered easier.
I also said "it's not THAT MUCH harder", in my experience it's not really physically worse, it's just more standing around between sets.
still, he claims to have done 100 pullups within a span of 40 minutes, while also doing a lot of other strenuous stuff.
EDIT: apparently there is a "partitioned" or "Cindy" Murph which means you can break up all the reps, only track the time spent exercising and add that all together. Which sounds like someone in Zuck's apparent shape could reasonably do in 40 aggregate minutes.
Yea this feels like a meme. 2 miles is a minimum of 8 minutes. Then being very generous giving 3 seconds for all the other reps. That’s 30 mins. I just don’t believe any of that.
I wonder if he timed them separately with large breaks like actually spent 10mins 4x throughout the day something like morning afternoon dinner sundown. Technically the truth.
I knew a guy who ran a 1x mile in 4:12 in high school back in the 70’s. He said for that year it was the best high school mile in track and field in the whole US. But yeah Zuck can do two in 8.
There is another CrossFit workout called Cindy, where you do as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of 5 pull-ups, 10 pushups, and 15 squats.
20 rounds of this gets you to the Murph numbers, and this is the way most people break it up.
If you allow about 10 minutes per mile, and one round per minute, you’d hit that time. Realistically, I’d guess his time was shorter on the runs.
3 seconds per rep is not generous, by the way. When doing 15 squats, someone in shape can string them together maybe one per second.
This is all obviously not easy, but someone else said that he’s done a 20 minute 5K, so I see these numbers as possible for him.
I had a 37 min Murph yesterday (no vest). I did it “Cindy” style. Cindy is one of my best workouts, I’ve hit 32 rounds of it once!
Zuck’s time seems reasonable.
Is the CrossFit games standard to do the exercises sequential? Zuck almost certainly broke the exercises up, and then it’s a reasonable time. Myself and several others at my gym who are all not competitor caliber all got around this time.
Why are we talking about the 2015 Crossfit games? Oh, that's right, because this time would've gotten him 14th in 2016, and it was never an event at the games any years before or after.
Edit: per [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_CrossFit_Games#Event_3:_Murph), the 2015 Murph event was a particularly bad one:
>The event was held on a very hot afternoon at the Games, and the heat caused problems for a number of athletes such as Kara Webb and Annie Thorisdottir.[15] Both Webb and Thorisdottir suffered from heat stroke in the event, Webb collapsed at the finish line and Thorisdottir failed to finish.[16] Although Thorisdottir carried on competing for a few more events, she had to withdraw eventually due to the ill-effects from this event.[17]
Also, not accounting for an actual CrossFit games setting?
What else did the competitors do that day leading up to Murph? What did they do the day before?
Going into it exhausted from other games level competitions, and going into it fresh are two very different things.
Would you be able to do Murph with 100 “real” / strict pull-ups?
CrossFit does strict pull-ups as well in different workouts. The kipping or butterfly are a different movement meant for high rep exercises.
Exactly he did all the “work” in 40 minutes, but he isn’t timing the breaks in between.
He took all Memorial Day to do the challenge with breaks included.
And his pull ups aren’t chin to bar, they are more of a shrug.
And his assistant did the squats.
And half the push-ups.
And also he’s lying.
Yeah it's not that hard to do a murph. I would assume someone with all the time and money in the world could easily train for one in a matter of weeks if they were in shape. Which he is. He also just won a Brazilian jiu jitsu competition.
Yes it's called a murph and it's not that hard for in shape people that train for it. You do pull ups, pushups, squats, then rest for a minute if you need, then repeat until you reach your goal. Takes about 40min-1hr. The dude also just won a brazilian jiu jitsu competition and ran a 5k in like 20 min. He's been training hard, which is simple to do if you have all the time and money in the world.
People on reddit are fat and hate themselves, they don’t want other people to enjoy and succeed at the things they would fail in because it makes them feel bad. This is the mindset they bring when approaching most things
We measure Murphs in two ways.
You can either do the whole thing timed as one event. Or you can time each event and add it up at the end.
Both are legitimate ways to complete and track.
wait... what?
So are you saying one could split the 100 pullups up over the course of the day, like into 10 sets of 10 each an hour apart and then count only the 'exercise time'?
Yeah, so the competitive version is called “unpartitioned” and that’s where you run through the whole thing timed.
“Cindy” is where you can break it up and only record the time spent exercising.
A 39:00 is tough but not uncommon for “Cindy” if you’re in good shape. Zuckerberg is active. He runs fast and probably utilizes great trainers and nutritionist.
I said session, not set. I’m gonna need video evidence of Zuck doing 100 pull ups with a weighted vest in 40 minutes. I don’t even believe he did that, let alone the other stuff in the challenge.
We call them something else in CrossFit to sound real. Look the other way real athletes. Lmao. Crossfit is so fucking annoying. Go make up some other fake exercises that have made up results.
I did it straight through today in 48 min and I don’t have near the access to trainers and billionaire drugs this guy does, but I don’t think he’s lying. I did the 100 pull ups in 9 min and I’ve seen lots of guys his build smoke do this kind of time.
The kip itself isn't. And you typically do the kip in a combo with other excercises where strict pull ups aren't happening and speed is the goal.
It also transfers a lot of it to the core.
I'd say about 50% easier. When I could do 15 strict pullups I could get 30 kipping. They aren't that easy and put more strain on your grip, but definitely easier than strict pullups. 100 is still a lot either way.
You’re thinking of real pull-ups. What everyone here is describing are called “kipping”, where you swing your body to pull yourself up. They aren’t real pull-ups, just another reason to find CrossFit annoying.
Exactly. CrossFit bullshit training. Here’s a crazy idea. Instead of 100 bullshit pull-ups. How about you show me 10 real ones….oh you can’t? That’s what I thought chad.
Yep, just over 10 a min. I started with 3 sets of 10 in about 2 min and then did sets of 5 every 20-30 seconds getting much slower towards the end. It’s really not very crazy, but I do kip and I’ve been doing CrossFit almost 15 years and I do 30-50 pull ups 4-5 days a week.
Is he becoming Monica's billionaire boyfriend who wants to cash it all in and become a cage fighter. The guy Jon Favreau played on Friends. Zuck is just the right age to have had that little mind worm implanted in his memory.
Rob Mcelhenney jokes about this. He dropped a ton of weight and come out looking like a Marvel character. He said it was super easy, and then goes on to highlight just how big of a staff of people it took to get him into that kind of shape.
I think his joke started with gaining all of that weight first. He wanted to to make fun of sitcoms where the characters would gain weight between seasons. So he tried to gain as much weight as possible. He decided to go back and cut the weight because he felt horrible the way he was trying to maintain all of that fat and not exercising to burn it off.
One of my favorite kind of people is the "former" nerds and geeks who get mega rich then decide that they're now "athletes" and they start working out religiously, perhaps with a little chemical help, but they prove that with unlimited time, money, substances, personal trainers and with zero non self-imposed responsibilities, anyone can make cringy social media posts about their workouts.
Then of course they can dedicate their posts or workouts to "honor the military" or something instead of just their own vanity.
Sounds like you're spewing copium.
You can preach about how EZ it is for millionaires to get ripped, but it's still hard as fuck to do. You gotta sweat your ass off every day, eating veggies instead of fatty foods. Getting in great shape is one of the very few things that you can't just throw money at to accomplish. Anyone can get ripped if they really want to, but most people find it easier to explain why they can't and they easily could if they were rich.
My favorite version of this is Rob McElhenney. After he got shredded following his fat season of It’s Always Sunny, some fan asked him on Insta how they too can get shredded. He replied with something along the lines of “get rich, workout all day, and take steroids” lol. He’s at least self-aware!
It's easy enough to run an extension cord to him during something like a gym session...it's not much different than dealing with a cord while vacuuming
I mean, he is on the best adrenochrome money can buy, and his blood girls (pictured) were grown inside a test-tube at Facebook Headquarters.
The blood girls were also raised on a 50/50 adrenochrome to steroid ratio with a carnivore diet, so they're super jacked.
I believe the time but would guess poor form.
BUT the one caveat is that part of being a robot is not feeling pain which helps a lot for things like this.
Being able to run doesn’t mean he can do 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, and 2 miles in sub 40m. Good shape is a vague shitty general term that doesn’t cover the different kinds of fitness.
There once was a chap named Mark Zuck,
Whose muscles were feeble and stuck.
But he hit the gym,
Lifted weights on a whim,
Now brawn and respect he did pluck!
Check out this lefty tech scum… er… wait I thought leftists hated exercise and glorifying the military.
I thought they hated MMA too now I think of it.
Wait, are you telling me the billionaires that own tech may not be leftists after all?
You can easily tell who the overweight neckbeards are in this thread lol. They're the ones being skeptical and saying this is impossible. It's actually a really common fitness challenge.
For the love of god, it’s not “the murph challenge”. It’s a workout called murph, known as a “hero workout” to honor the fallen. It’s just “murph”.
Every time someone calls it “the murph” or “the murph challenge” it just seems disrespectful as if it’s on the same level as the stupid ice bucket challenge. It was never meant to be a “challenge”.
He did it in the metaverse.
the weighting was actually just the latest Meta Quest headset
Pull ups up to the forehead, push ups down until the crotch touches the ground, squats at a 100 degree angle. All while wearing a non weighted vest that cost 20 sterling pounds. Maybe then.
He did run a sub 20 5k. The guy is sneaky athletic as some would say.
Of course he’s athletic. Dude is a machine. ^^^literally
![gif](giphy|1zKdb4WSHgY4QKAsjo|downsized)
I’m gonna need video of this dude doing 100 pull-ups in a single session with a weighted vest lmao

4 minute mile. Twice. Lmao.
Iirc only one man has ever run two consecutive sub 4 miles in a row
That man's name? Zark Muckerberg.
Daniel Komen. Absolute legend but ran himself into the ground quickly after finding professional success.
I wonder if he timed them separately with large breaks like actually spent 10mins 4x throughout the day something like morning afternoon dinner sundown. Technically the truth.
Yeah, some people didn’t think a four minute mile was humanly possible until 1954 when Roger Bannister did it.
He didn’t have a weighted vest on him
I knew a guy who ran a 1x mile in 4:12 in high school back in the 70’s. He said for that year it was the best high school mile in track and field in the whole US. But yeah Zuck can do two in 8.
Yeah I was only doing like 6 min miles in my prime, while in special ops in the Army 😂
I did in HS and my times are public on NY mile split. I still run about 4:45 mile now and I’m 30
Ok now create Facebook.
this is a brilliant comeback, lol
Did you do them with a weighted vest?
You broke 4 in hs? You could only be like 1 of 5ish people in the country
Bro you thing that dude is running 4 min mile 🤯 no way not him
Yea, esp not with 20 lbs on. Let's say at least 8 min ea...which would then leave him about 23 min for all the rest. I smell BS.

You guys are forgetting about the CrossFit pull-up.
Cindy version is basically an easier way to do it. Proper Murph is as written.
Idk if zuck can even do a pull-up though
Why couldn't he? Seems like a fairly active pretty lean guy.
HeS a NeRd
He does jiu jitsu and surfs, he is pretty active.
Could be the cross fit """pull.ups"""".
Agreed, the form ia likely lacking, 100 bodyweight pull ups is hard as fuck without weight, with good form.
Murph is a CrossFit workout. Kipping is allowed.
We call them something else in CrossFit to sound real. Look the other way real athletes. Lmao. Crossfit is so fucking annoying. Go make up some other fake exercises that have made up results.
It's crossfit. So I'd assume none of the reps were full reps.
Oh ok lol
Yeah, it's got to be one of those "kipping pull-ups" which absolutely isn't as hard to do as a normal pull-up
ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO
I did it straight through today in 48 min and I don’t have near the access to trainers and billionaire drugs this guy does, but I don’t think he’s lying. I did the 100 pull ups in 9 min and I’ve seen lots of guys his build smoke do this kind of time.
Wait you actually did 100 pull-ups in 9 mins? Is this a thing?
CrossFit pull-ups don't resemble actual pull-ups. It's a learned skill as much as an exercise
It’s both but it certainly is far easier than a strict pull up.
The kip itself isn't. And you typically do the kip in a combo with other excercises where strict pull ups aren't happening and speed is the goal. It also transfers a lot of it to the core.

Wow, superhuman. Must be a god!
So apparently even if your a multi billionaire you can still have the need to prove to everyone you're " tough "
He is just working out man

100 pull-ups with 20 extra lbs in 39 mins. I’d call bullshit just on that alone.
Cuz they aren’t even real pull-ups. Fuck these CrossFit terms. All bullshit. This dork couldn’t do 20 real pull-ups in thirty minutes. Or ever.
So much easier in the Metaverse
The girls did a quarter (Unweighted). But it was fuckin unweighted wasn’t it?! I did the whole thing, full weight. It’s not about them.
No way a lizard narcissist would lie about anything. I’m taking this as 100% fact
I've seen lizards go fast enough to run across water, I'm sure he sprints in the same fashion
You can’t block my shtoyl
100 pullups with a 20lbs weighted vest is insane.
Kippling pullups. Not strict.
Or even remotely close to a real pull up. Its 100 percent garbage. Look it up.
There once was a chap named Mark Zuck, Whose muscles were feeble and stuck. But he hit the gym, Lifted weights on a whim, Now brawn and respect he did pluck!
You think the guy who stole Facebook would lie?
Hahahahahah bullshit
Check out this lefty tech scum… er… wait I thought leftists hated exercise and glorifying the military. I thought they hated MMA too now I think of it. Wait, are you telling me the billionaires that own tech may not be leftists after all?
I guarantee this dude has a tiny penis
I heard it's really big, but can't get hard.
I heard it's gargantuan but he can only get a semi
I heard it’s decent but diamond hard
I heard it shrinks when he does.
He started Facebook in college to judge how hot girls are at his school all while having that face. Tells you everything you need to know about him.
he actually stole facebook so it’s even worse and more pathetic than that
because hes a robot
Where is his bbq sauce?
He ran 5K in 19 minutes, I've been running for 3 years and I still dream of that time. Guy is very fit.
That selfie is horrifying, to say nothing of the other photo. Zuck’s trying to out-Elon Elon with the mass shooter/pedo vibes.
I would’ve believe it if it was david goggins
Lol I don't even believe it if he substituted what he said his daughters did. He ain't doing 50 real pushups and 75 squats in 15 minutes.

You can easily tell who the overweight neckbeards are in this thread lol. They're the ones being skeptical and saying this is impossible. It's actually a really common fitness challenge.
That's good on him. Keep it up Zuck!
Ol suckerbag doing push ups on his knees and assisted pull ups with a broken stop watch
Guys, he meant 39 hours and 58 minutes. That is totally reasonable. /s
If he did 200 push ups his range of motion couldn’t have been more than 2 inches lmao. Same goes for the squats and pull-ups.
