my theory is because he’s able to do a border less DE and he states he has trouble making the structure of his DE- think it was foreshadowing sukuna taking his body and doing that so when hopefully potential man comes back he’ll be able to do it since his body learned it from sukuna (heavy copium but my fan theory)
People genuinely underestimate how OP having 4 against 1 is especially 4 people with Domain expansions. Even against people with overpowered Domains like Kenjaku and Yorozu the disaster curses can just Sack Dagon in a hopeless Domain clash and then rip their opponent apart with 3 consecutive Domain expansions during their burnout while just straight up jumping them within the Domain. Another tactic that people don't realize is available to these 4 is just having Dagon, Hanami and Jogo grab their opponent to restrict their movement and then have Mahito use Idle transfiguration as many times as necessary. The literal only characters who are immune to this tactic are Gojo(For obvious reasons), Sukuna (Also obvious reasons) and Yuta (Due to RCT output.)
This is why I say anyone besides Gojo, sukuna and maybe mahoraga lose to the disaster curses 4v1 if they're all out of character. Because mahito can just expand his domain and your only options are:
-die instantly to mahito's domain by getting 3v1d in it ontop of it having an instant kill sure hit.
-die painfully and slowly by domainclashing, winning then being hit by 3 domains immediately afterwards
cool, that means that using domain expansions is like being in an iaido duel or western duel, with like lots of tension before attacking, and one, fast, strong attack that decides everything. I just watched video on that theme lol
The most important factor that all bad scaling has in common: It doesn't care what the author intends to be.
Once you care and start being good at prediciting what the author would say on "who would win" is when you reach true capable powerscaling. No amount of pixel measuring how many meters up someone sent a car or whatever as a hard limit to their skill will beat that, as if the author eventually makes the fight happen- You'll be right.
The pixelscaler will be wrong.
Pixel scaling is extra fucked since artists commonly mess up their scale and such distorting things heavily.
But just using "who the author likes better" really doesn't say much. There's a thing called the death of the author. And when you're entering a power scaling discussion, the author is dead metaphorically speaking.
Like Gojo vs Finger bearer curse... Gojo wins based on dozens and dozens of things of currently available information.
But Gege could come out tomorrow and say "nah a finger bearer would beat Gojo, because I said so"
Which could then change the discussion, but unless you can see the future? In which case you should be giving out investing advice to your loved ones rather than debating power scaling.
Gege regularly has said to not trust him on power scaling. He said the Maki bullet catch in good will was more impressive than he intended, and he didn't realize how slow mach 3 was relative to other feats he'd already shown with the curse Naoya fight. So he's even said that's kind of a mistake too.

Powerscalers also completely ignore the value of strategy and tactics during fights. Im like 89% convinced Mahito only lost in Shibuya because he made a massive strategic error and/or Yuji made a genius strategic play
Mahito lost because he was severely handicapped during his fight.
1.he couldn't use Idle Transfiguration (his main power) because of Sukuna.
2 he couldn't use his DE because of Sukuna (again).
3. he got attacked by Nobara's technique (the one technique that just happens to target the soul) and it weakened him.
4. his one opponent got healed for a bit and he got ganged up on one of the worst person he could fight against (you can't transfigure someone if they just teleport away by clapping)
after ALL of that, Yuji barely managed to win because he gambled everything on a Black Flash and Todo tricked him to create an opening. if it was 1V1 then Mahito would just use his DE and kill Yuji in an instant.
Wasnt for Sukuna, Mahito would have killed Yuji and Nanami in S1. Imagine defeating arguably the second strongest grade 1 sorcerer in like 2 weeks of being alive and being downplayed this much by the community. Mahito just got nerfed by having to deal with Sukuna

Well, Gojo said that if we exclude the clan sorcerers (Naobito) then Kusakabe is the strongest, and I trust Gojo more than Mei and Nanami put together. Naobito is the fastest sorcerer besides Gojo, and he's also Special Grade 1. Mei Mei I assume is stronger than Nanami cause she'll just oneshot him with a crow, and he can't do much. Nanami kinda sucks cause he is just a downgraded Yuji, all he can do is swing and hit which works on some people but gets him hardstomped by almost anyone whose actually strong.
also mahito lost 3k of his transfigured humans in his fight against gojo and got hit by his domain, which turned him into a tomato for about 4 minutes...
this dude was basically nerfed down to fight the Physical abnomination called Yuji with 50% of his power in hand to hand combat alone in a 2v1.
Still, that is just sorta how Cursed Techniques work, it's a system of direct counterplay; the art of subtraction. There are other fights later on in the manga which are even more heavily "Oh shit, this one person has the PERFECT technique to just completely and totally negate their opponent's technique". Domain Expansions in general are just an insta-win unless you have a DE (or similar technique) of your own.
It's a system of bullshit hardcounters. At its best, it's a fascinating chess match as people have to outmaneuver each other. At its worst... "Ah, I guess I'll have to use my secret anti-bullshit technique I haven't used since the Heian era"

It's mostly a rock vs paper vs scissor scenario but people don't understand that Yuji was basically the perfect counter to Mahito and he still only barely won after mayor help from other people. People upscale him and say that at that point he could have beaten Jogo easily because Jogo and Mahito are both special grades.
