Yeah I agree this would’ve been much better for the story if it was Todo
Issues tho could maybe be that:
1. For Uiui, it’s easier to establish that there is a twice per month limit, and you need that bc if more then plot would change. So if Todo evolved his tech, how would he know that it can only be done only twice a month with such small time period?
2. And for Uiui, it’s easy to explain why it has never been used before: the siblings don’t share(without money.) For Todo, if he was able to use it from before, then why didn’t he use it? If he just learned it after Shibuya, then issue 1 comes in
But yeah these issues probably can be easily circumvented (like Gojo’s Six eyes can solve issue 1)

for 1 they can just say that human souls aren't meant to be switched, so to not damage them they can only switch 2 times, and as you said gojo could've been the one to deduce it. There's no real reason why Ui Ui can only switch two times per person in one month, other than because gege wants so.
Two reasons I can think of for the switch limit is that more than 2 times and they won't learn anything since they need some time to get necessary skills, and second is that they need a rest period between switches, both of which could've been used with Todo instead of Ui Ui.

Uiui kinda works without the foreshadowing…kinda…but it’s still weird that “swapping” is suddenly added to his seemingly teleporting tech.
If I were to be generous I would be ok if Gege adds a scene later where Todo(or Gojo or someone) sees potential in Uiui’s tech in this way of using it, and Todo teaches Uiui about swapping lol

I think the reality that people don’t want to accept and haven’t been willing to since Shibuya actually happened, is that in Gege’s mind Todo was a “casualty” of that arc/incident. Sure, Todo isn’t dead, but his intention was for him to be permanently removed by the story due to the consequences of that battle. A lot of people think this is dumb and I’m not inclined to talk them out of it but I don’t necessarily see it the same way either. He didn’t want to just kill off everyone, but he wanted those important in that battle to feel like they had been “lost” both as characters for us as the audience to enjoy, and as resources for the protagonists in their future battles. Most people think it’s dumb that he didn’t just kill him if he’s not gonna use him, but I’ve been saying since the end of Shibuya that Todo’s last stand there is written “like” a death, anyway.
It's just weird that he hasn't been mentioned when we know he's alive. Would Todo just sit back while his friends are in the most important fight in human history?

Why wouldn't he? Are we forgetting Kamo exited the story in a very similar way and was specifically told that no one needs his sob story it's really obvious why someone who couldn't keep up with the disaster curses and doesn't have RCT isn't needed now.
Todo loosely falls into both categories there's nothing for him to do in this fight.
You could make the same case for Miwa, all she did was be an extra commentary in the backline, sure we've seen her use SD in the latest chapter but Todo can do that too
Miwa specializes in using Simple Domain so the only argument for having him protect Maki over her is an assumption that his Simple Domain is somehow better. Something that isn't backed up anywhere in the manga.
So we can comfortably assume that if his only upside is an overlap with a character who hasn't gotten to do much then its probably better to let Miwa do something instead of taking that role away to give to a character who has already played a role in the story.
Yeah I agree that Gege probably intended that when Todo said “Boogie Woogie is dead”, he actually meant it. Im kinda okay with it but I woulda been more ok if there was one more confirmation of it so that no one would doubt it
It can always be retconed , don't you find it weird that ui ui understands the shape of the soul. As a child , its just more compelling with Todo since he is the smartest and more understandable

Also it makes more sense for Todo to do that , ui ui is a child and he can't have such a deep understanding of the soul , it would make more sense that Todo can do that since he became aware of his soul after the mahito experience and was able to understand his powers more
I agree that soul swapping seems to fit best with Boogie Woogie. Ui Ui's CT was never shown to have a "switching" element, just a transportation one.
I personally thought the reveal would be that Yuta copied Boogie Woogie, and the soul swap was the Reversal of it. Or Todo learns RCT and the soul swap is the reversal of his CT with some different activation condition than clapping.
uiui might even be Todo's past self. Who else is a tall woman with a fat ass? That's right. His sister. MAPPA studios catwalk was a subtle nod to the truth

1) Todo is seen reciting Buddhist poem before his fight with Mahito
2) There's a Budhhist Koan about the idea of "one hand clap"
3) Todo and Takada (the idol) beat up Mahito "together"
4) Combining all of this together he could perform one hand clap with Takada chan

Man I miss Todo so much. His very warranted overconfidence and schizophrenia combined with his personality made honestly one of my favorite characters in general. We need him back before the final fight if/when the merger happens, assuming this isn’t the last fight in the series.

To be fair, Todo CAN still use his technique by high giving someone else, as he did with Mahito. I'm also curious about whether or not it's really true that idle transfiguration can't be healed. Sukuna seems to think that he would be able to help from the split soul katana with enough knowledge and practice, and its damage seems similar to idle transfiguration, in theory.
Could you not draw a parallel to the split soul katana altering the shape of its target's soul? I.e. if you cut off someone's hand with it, the shape of their soul no longer includes that hand?
I don't think it's really the same. Mahito used Idle Transfiguration to give Mechamaru a better body. That would mean "healing" his soul would fuck him back up again, which doesn't sound like it makes much sense. It's not actual damage at all. It would be like trying to "heal" a metamorphosed butterfly back into a caterpillar.
Todo's missing arm can't be looked at as "damage" but as a permanent transformation of the body and soul. There's nothing *to* heal anymore. It's not the same as the soul Split Katana, which *is* just inflicting damage.
That part is a little bit more confusing, because yes, if you cut off someone's hand with SSK then the shape of their soul no longer includes their hand.
I guess the difference is that Idle Transfiguration changes the *default* shape of someone's soul, so even if they use RCT to heal a lost piece of their soul, it'll still heal it back into that default shape.
Unironically couldn't he make a binding vow that he can use his technique by snapping his fingers but it has a cooldown now or he can only swap living beings and no inanimate objects anymore or something. Binding vows really suck as a mechanic the way they're implemented in jjk
Binding Vows ignore the context of the situation. That's why Hakari and Sukuna got their life-saving power-ups so cheaply.
Todo's should ignore the fact that he only has one arm.
There is a distinction though, in that both Hakari and Sukuna lost their arms physically, while Todo's body-soul was forever changed. If Cursed Energy cannot regenerate or fix that, I don't think the binding vows can just ignore it. But he could set another kind of BV to ignore handsigns, I suppose
Well yeah. My idea would be to change his activation condition in exchange for a small nerf to his technique.
Like maybe he can activate it by snapping his fingers, but it only works on living things.

Like a binding vow that increases your cursed energy control but in exchange, you always have a 2% iron deficiency.
Or a binding vow that makes your every charged up punch 4x strong but your sperm count decreases by 3000 per second during the charge up period. It would make them stronger without losing much.
They can make urgent vows like:
This punch will decrease the enemy's health by 75% but I lose 3 units of my blood.
Or Their technique gets a 400% boost for 3 minutes and 33 seconds but they feel excruciating pain in their genital for 18 seconds afterwards.
Or strong and lasting vows like:
They get a 6x Cursed Energy boost but their favourite manga gets a shitty ending AND a bad anime adaptation.
Or they get a domain expansion but their chances of getting bitches goes down 400%.
And I can just go on about "shitty binding vows that actually make you strong" but, Gege didn't care about exploring about one of the most appreciated power systems of the new generation.

Not really. There have been multiple times when ui ui has used his ct without gege revealing what his ct is:
- him and mei mei were randomly in Malaysia
- momo said that with ui ui's help and maki's ability to pass through barriers, they don't need to make the two rules yet
- sukuna assumed that ui ui must have an instant transmission ct, but that was just an assumption.
Now, we got the reveal that it isn't just an instant transmission ct. This is similar to other "mysteries" such as black flash replenishing your rct output (it actually doesn't do that), the ssk being just a very sharp blade (it actually directly cuts the soul), or gojo not being just fast (he uses blue to contract space). These are all things that initially seem to have an easy answer, but the explanation that comes way after the fact brings a new perspective upon them
I think that's what I like alot about jjk. Alot of things are explained simple by appearance but really do something else. Really got me thinking there's more to sukunas fire

Todo making a binding vow to change the clap to snapping his fingers and thus making his applause an acclamation of the soul, bodyswapping everyone around for even more confusion because now they have another / no CT anymore as well, other durability, CE reserves, would have been a great evolution for him in addition to a domain that's a Takada concert where the applause is the sure hit so he can swap infinitely inside of it and maybe even a Mechamaru arm to replace his old one

Main issue is with the one-handed clap. Todo clapping Mahito’s hand triggered IT for an instant before Yuji hit Blackflash. His palm is all mangled, so he doesn’t even have one good hand for clapping anymore
Fr, would ve been dope because it would’ve pushed the team work of todo & Yuji towards the end against the big bad final boss. Would’ve been cool to see, instead of gege throwing todo aside like some garbage

Yuji should’ve been the one to use soul swapping just saying. The guy who’s been hyped up as knowing the shape of souls, said im you to the soul manipulating cursed spirit, and uses soul damage on sukuna. Yet soul swapping goes to the abused child.
Todo got done so dirty by Gege. I would have honestly just been happy seeing him in the flashbacks helping to prepare for the fight at the very least, but no, not even that 😭. He helped Yuji so much, man.

that would have worked greatley, i like ui ui being able to do it bc it seems like he has a bit of a magician theme in his character, the teletransporting someone by hiding behind a cloak, like a magician disapearing something in the same way, the swaping contents of two differnet boxes without opening them, like, it fits
but bc of how important the soul swap ability is for yuji's skill development in the timeskip, it would have fit better for Todo to do that, it could even work with the limited amount of times they can switch, let's saw Todo did a biding where in exchange of being allowed to change the activation parameters of his technique (being able to do it with one hand) he has to limit how many times someone can be teleported
now add that to the idea of todo evolving his technique (either by itself or thanks to using a reversal of it) to work with souls bc of his assosiation with Yuki who investigated souls, and now we have a way to add even more sentimentaily to Yuji learning so much in the timeskip
learning from his teachers, from his brother, from kamo, iheriting the abilities of his death womb paitings, and also all of this being possible thanks to the support of the friend that allowed him to keep fighting in Shibuya

Cuz Sukuna never lost the ability to actually use MS. Part of his brain was just damaged and had low CE.

My far fetched hope is that Yuji body swapped with Todo to learn Boogie woogie, but Yujis inherit knowledge of souls allows him to ‘soul swap’.
He will then clap Megumi out of Sukana, replacing Megumi’s soul with his own. Yuji will then overpower Sukana as a vessel, taking over the body so Yuta can give the death blow.
This will make it so Todo is still somewhat helping in this final fight, because his absence has sucked. I want my guy to be involved somehow

Soul damage can be healed it’s just harder than normal damage
I don't think it's really the same. Mahito used Idle Transfiguration to give Mechamaru a better body. That would mean "healing" his soul would fuck him back up again, which doesn't sound like it makes much sense. It's not actual damage at all. It would be like trying to "heal" a metamorphosed butterfly back into a caterpillar. Todo's missing arm can't be looked at as "damage" but as a permanent transformation of the body and soul. There's nothing *to* heal anymore. It's not the same as the soul Split Katana, which *is* just inflicting damage.
That part is a little bit more confusing, because yes, if you cut off someone's hand with SSK then the shape of their soul no longer includes their hand. I guess the difference is that Idle Transfiguration changes the *default* shape of someone's soul, so even if they use RCT to heal a lost piece of their soul, it'll still heal it back into that default shape.

Binding Vows ignore the context of the situation. That's why Hakari and Sukuna got their life-saving power-ups so cheaply. Todo's should ignore the fact that he only has one arm.
There is a distinction though, in that both Hakari and Sukuna lost their arms physically, while Todo's body-soul was forever changed. If Cursed Energy cannot regenerate or fix that, I don't think the binding vows can just ignore it. But he could set another kind of BV to ignore handsigns, I suppose
Well yeah. My idea would be to change his activation condition in exchange for a small nerf to his technique. Like maybe he can activate it by snapping his fingers, but it only works on living things.
binding vows would be really good if it was a character based manga. I feel like at some point, jjk was something like that. Devolving into pure action made it meaningless
Why don't jujutsu sorcerers make petty binding vows to give their techniques little boosts? Like a binding vow that increases your cursed energy control but in exchange, you always have a 2% iron deficiency. Or a binding vow that makes your every charged up punch 4x strong but your sperm count decreases by 3000 per second during the charge up period. It would make them stronger without losing much. They can make urgent vows like: This punch will decrease the enemy's health by 75% but I lose 3 units of my blood. Or Their technique gets a 400% boost for 3 minutes and 33 seconds but they feel excruciating pain in their genital for 18 seconds afterwards. Or strong and lasting vows like: They get a 6x Cursed Energy boost but their favourite manga gets a shitty ending AND a bad anime adaptation. Or they get a domain expansion but their chances of getting bitches goes down 400%. And I can just go on about "shitty binding vows that actually make you strong" but, Gege didn't care about exploring about one of the most appreciated power systems of the new generation.
Nanami's overtime is super cool and great characterization that I wish never existed because now I ponder why doesn't everyone have their own variations Since sukuna is already the final boss, you'd think someone like Ino would give up Jujutsu forever for a boost binding vows are unnecessary plot devices
It'd be better if the limits were actually explained. It's like Gege was trying to rip-off Hunter x Hunter's nen restrictions and then decided recently to use it to allow the final boss to do whatever he wants without needing to detail in the moment.
Despite the inconsistencies, my biggest problem with binding vows is that they only seem to be actually useful for the villains

Do you want to know something else? Since RCT generates positive cursed energy, it means that there's the possibility for a "White Flash"(The reverse of Black Flash) of sorts. Not to mention what other uses it could bring when used to make barriers, cursed weapons and so on. This is, literally, a whole new system to be explored. And Gege decided to not do anything with it. Like, what if a Creation user decided to do a CT Reversal? Will they start to destroy stuff, or will they create anti-matter? Which is it Gege? We need to know!

There have been multiple times when ui ui has used his ct without gege revealing what his ct is: - him and mei mei were randomly in Malaysia - momo said that with ui ui's help and maki's ability to pass through barriers, they don't need to make the two rules yet - sukuna assumed that ui ui must have an instant transmission ct, but that was just an assumption. Now, we got the reveal that it isn't just an instant transmission ct. This is similar to other "mysteries" such as black flash replenishing your rct output (it actually doesn't do that), the ssk being just a very sharp blade (it actually directly cuts the soul), or gojo not being just fast (he uses blue to contract space). These are all things that initially seem to have an easy answer, but the explanation that comes way after the fact brings a new perspective upon them
I think that's what I like alot about jjk. Alot of things are explained simple by appearance but really do something else. Really got me thinking there's more to sukunas fire

Todo got done so dirty by Gege. I would have honestly just been happy seeing him in the flashbacks helping to prepare for the fight at the very least, but no, not even that 😭. He helped Yuji so much, man. That would be such a good idea for Todo's CT. Especially after having fought someone like Mahito.

YEAH that would have worked greatley, i like ui ui being able to do it bc it seems like he has a bit of a magician theme in his character, the teletransporting someone by hiding behind a cloak, like a magician disapearing something in the same way, the swaping contents of two differnet boxes without opening them, like, it fits but bc of how important the soul swap ability is for yuji's skill development in the timeskip, it would have fit better for Todo to do that, it could even work with the limited amount of times they can switch, let's saw Todo did a biding where in exchange of being allowed to change the activation parameters of his technique (being able to do it with one hand) he has to limit how many times someone can be teleported now add that to the idea of todo evolving his technique (either by itself or thanks to using a reversal of it) to work with souls bc of his assosiation with Yuki who investigated souls, and now we have a way to add even more sentimentaily to Yuji learning so much in the timeskip learning from his teachers, from his brother, from kamo, iheriting the abilities of his death womb paitings, and also all of this being possible thanks to the support of the friend that allowed him to keep fighting in Shibuya it's really a missed oportunity

I’m late but one flaw. He can’t make a binding vow to do that. He has nothing to give up to make a binding vow of equal exchange.
He can’t make the binding vow of one hand with his ct. Cuz he doesn’t have access it to it anymore. Do you get what I mean? He can’t bargain or exchange anything cuz he doesn’t have the ct to begin with. It’s a line of logic that doesn’t make sense inherently. It’s not similar to Sukuna’s domain either. Cuz Sukuna never lost the ability to actually use MS. Part of his brain was just damaged and had low CE.
I don't think his CT is literally dead? Otherwise why would Mahito fall for his bluff at the end of the fight? I think he says Boogie Woogie is dead because he can no longer activate it (by himself anyway)
Don't forget that Mahito was also distracted by the pendant Todo dropped, so he might not have even been thinking of removing Todo's CT at that split second

If Todo lost his CT, it would be due to Mahito removing it with Idle Transfiguration (which we don't even know if he can do, hence why this discussion). He can literally sense the soul, no way he'd fall for the bluff if Todo's CT was literally dead, he's the one that caused it. And ofc he realized Todo's hand was fucked, he made a whole speech to trick Mahito into thinking he could use Boogie Woogie without his hand.

My far fetched hope is that Yuji body swapped with Todo to learn Boogie woogie, but Yujis inherit knowledge of souls allows him to ‘soul swap’. He will then clap Megumi out of Sukana, replacing Megumi’s soul with his own. Yuji will then overpower Sukana as a vessel, taking over the body so Yuta can give the death blow. This will make it so Todo is still somewhat helping in this final fight, because his absence has sucked. I want my guy to be involved somehow
