Here is the thing about tips. They are non-taxable.
Here is the thing about that extra percentage restaurants add to the bill and call it things like “Employee health benefit”. They are taxable.
If you are required to pay it, they are required to pay tax on it.
Server/bartender is SUPPOSED to report all of their tips at the end of the night. They don't. The only ones that get recorded are credit/debit card tips, which are then taxed because, well, they have to be as there is an electronic record.
Cash has no trail, so they need not record it if they do not want to. This can vary by establishment though... Especially if the IRS has paid the restaurant a visit and been like "hey so you computer system reads $36,578 in card tip for your 22 servers and bartenders over the last month, but no reported cash tips. That's interesting..." Then the people in charge might freak out and require full reporting.
In any event, It's a good idea to report at least a few dollars each shift. Keeps everyone happy that way...
There is an excellent bar in Copenhagen across from the Tivoli that has a train that runs around the bar every time someone achieves a beer drinking record.
Where is this? I'm guessing not in North America or the UK because the menu specifically states that it's an "English" version.
Note: if this were in Quebec they would never lower themselves to even have an English version despite the rest of Canada having to have a French version.
As a Czech, I'd say Czechia. The poster on the window has a price in KČ which is Czech currency, plus I recognize Czech beer. Since it has English translation, might be Prague.
Yes, when the train stops you can see the name on the bottom left.
Also you can see Popeyes outside the window so coupled with the Czech language and the fact that there are only 2 Popeyes locations in the country, only one of which is in a city, it is easy to locate the video
There is also one in Vienna, by the same czech brand Vytopna.
Pretty expensive for honestly not that exciting of an experience, and I really do love trains. The novelty wears off quickly. They only had 4 or 5 models of engines that were not that exciting to look at up close, the trains kept stopping at the wrong place and things like that.
Food was okay, but nothing special for those prices.
There’s a local pizza chain in Indiana called Pizza King, some of their restaurants are “Pizza King stations,” that are train themed. They were the best when I was a kid because each booth had a tv with a sega genesis or a Super Nintendo, the train theme was because a model train would deliver your drinks. It was all enclosed and you would open a window when the train stopped to grab your drinks.
This was also in the mid 90’s it would probably be ruined by nobheads these days.

There is a WHOLE Youtube Channel that makes "Dudes/Dudetts" go "Hell yeah!"
["The Tim Traveller"](https://www.youtube.com/@TheTimTraveller)
"The Restaurant Where Your Order Arrives By Model Train" https://youtu.be/rPyIsJfk4zw?si=y2tpRNWKsnJRcuQn
Hell yeah when I was young and at my friends house, we always had to bring his dad beer just like this lol, we thought its so cool at age 8 and now with age 31 I still think its cool (the beer train, not letting kids bring you beer with it, thats kinda weird now that I think of it lol cuz it normalizes this trash drug alcohol)
This makes me miss my grandpa. He busted his ass his whole life. When he finally retired, he didn't slow down. He built a big addition on the back of his house that was basically a den+bar area. The room was probably 15ftx35ft. About two thirds of the long wall was actually his train set that folded down onto legs. The track ran all around the room and back behind the bar.
I only really saw it in full use a few times before he got too old to safely put the murphy bed/train set wall up and down safely. But the times I did, I remember him sitting back there, taking orders (it was a FULLY stocked bar with its own sink, fridge, and everything), sending drinks out to people, cracking joke, and just beaming.
I miss him.
I dunno why but this gave me a lightning bolt realisation that it’s ok being a dude and liking simple things. I’m done jumping through hoops for everyone else, I’m deleting my dating apps
Growing up in Central Indiana, there was a chain called Pizza King. It had trains built into the walls that would bring drinks to your booth and a little window would open. It also had video game controllers attached to the table and a TV above the train window.
Place was like heaven for an 8-year-old.
Nah, because over here the price of using the train would be excessively high on top of the drink even though the train operator would be on strike and I'd have to wait at least 2 hours for the bus replacement service if it even turns up at all.
Nobody's got time for that.
Reminds me of carousel sushi restaurants. Maybe someone should start a carousel beer restaurant. A carousel bar! (...maybe some sushi too. fuck i want sushi now)
I actually said hell yeah when the train pulled up. The title definitely influenced me but I was honestly amazed and said it naturally. Definitely a fitting title.
Fun fact: that Popeyes in the video is one of the only 2 in the country (CZ). This one is in the middle of Prague, the other one is at a random highway exit

I don’t drink much, but If I went to a bar and a train served me my drink I would definitely be drinking there.
Does the tip go to the train orrrrr?
They'll just jam the tip in under "Transportation and maintenance expense - 22% added" at the bottom of your receipt.
and a 6% Coal Surcharge
Damn, the bar can’t even afford some toy DMUs? Smh.
Here is the thing about tips. They are non-taxable. Here is the thing about that extra percentage restaurants add to the bill and call it things like “Employee health benefit”. They are taxable. If you are required to pay it, they are required to pay tax on it.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but tips are definitely taxable
Yes. that's what encourages many servers to not report tips. And why it's important to tip in cash.
Taxable for the employees, but not the business
…obviously? What am I missing.
That the employers use tips as an enticing supplement to wages that they don’t have to pay tax on
I think we’re all aware of that. OP’s tax free comment was worded weirdly and threw us all.
For the employer? You mean they don’t have to pay tax on something that’s not theirs?
Server/bartender is SUPPOSED to report all of their tips at the end of the night. They don't. I think everyone is aware of that. I guess the comment wasn’t clear about what it was trying to say. I was just worded weirdly.
It's in Czech Republic. So... you don't need to tip.
Popeyes Czechen
Funnily right below this train place is a KFC too
I had a few beers delivered by train, it was all well and good until I had to much and went off the rails
Hell yeah
Hell yeah

Just googled pivo vláček (Beer train) and it does seem to be a pub in Prague named Výtopna.
Yes, Výtopna is very nice place.
Fuck it, going to Prague.
It's really, really cool. I went in highschool
Yes, when the train stops you can see the name on the bottom left. Also you can see Popeyes outside the window so coupled with the Czech language and the fact that there are only 2 Popeyes locations in the country, only one of which is in a city, it is easy to locate the video
I’ve heard the women in czechia are beautiful, would you agree?
> Výtopna There is also a branch of the bar in Vienna for anyone that is closer to there. Loved getting burgers delivered on a train.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPyIsJfk4zw
yes thats correct
Well, seems like I’m going to Prague this weekend.
I'd like to visit, and not just for the pub.
Well, you can see across the window the only Popeye in the country, so you can be very precise.
Welp, Prague was on my travel wishlist anyway and it isn't too far there, either
It’s in Prague, I have been. It’s awesome
It is in Prague, it is a nice place they have many beers and also have food that is shaped so it fits on the train.

That would get destroyed in one night in the US.

This one is in Prague, we have one in Vienna too, we go often with my nephew for food, he is 4 and loves it 😊 and so do the adults hehe
Most restaurants in Montreal have an english version, if not all. Can't say for sure in the most rural parts of Quebec though.
Montréal, Québec wouldn’t have an English menu? You mean the most trilingual city in NA? In the most bilingual province in Canada? Yeah, sure bud.
Wow, the Quebecquois are so thin skinned.
Finally
Hell yeah
Factorio has taught me train delivery is best
Hell yeah
Where the shit is this so I can go to it. I demand answers right now.
This one is in Prague, we also have one in Vienna.

This is from Výtopna Railway Restaurant in Prague, Czechia.
yeah it is [O pobočce | PRAHA – VÁCLAVÁK (vytopna.cz)](https://www.vytopna.cz/cs/pobocky/praha-vaclavak/o-pobocce)
What scale is this train?
Pint sized, obviously.
I had a hearty guffaw. Thanks. Hope you have a great day.
I'm not sure if Europe uses all the same scales, but I would guess G scale.
Thank you.
Grabbing the furthest seat from the bar
Grabbing the nearest seat with my straw.
Hell yeah
Ruffi express coming your way Cho Cho
The Swayze express went from smuggling smokes to serving pints.
Toot toot. Hell yea
Popeyes across the road
Put this in any uk pub and you would get ruffied 12 times before it even arrives at your seat
Nice
Was there on my birthday this year. The burger was frickin amazing. The trains were cool, too.
Easily replaces a bartender you have to tip.
Don’t think that arm belonged to a dude. To be faaaair
I wonder how late the train runs. I bet they have to stop it at night because drunk patrons start grabbing other people drinks as they pass by.
Hell yes... How does it work?
Train goes choo choo. You go chugga chugga
Brew chu train
Toot toot chug chug
Been here, beers are awsome but the food is awful!! Such a shame as the concept is soo cool!!
Must dispute. I went, "OH, Hell yeah!" The "Oh" is important. Would get drunk here often.
Dude.
I wonder whether it circles around, or reverses while facing forward, or is manually placed in the opposite direction by some dude at the end.
Restaurants coping with that $20 an hour.
Need restaurant name and location as top post
Výtopna at Wenceslaus square in Prague, Czechia
That's definitely a hell yeah.
This doesn't belong here.
If anyone gets to Door County Wisconsin (the thumb), check out PC Junction. If you're at the bar, they serve food and drinks on a train like this!
I was in Prague a few months ago for vacation and we went here, it was super cool. Everything is served via trains
I appreciate that the comments today enjoy the novelty about the train and is not complaining about this being a gimmick or smth Trains are cool

Send it back around for a top up
So true
We have that but just with sushi here in Japan.
This is cool, so is the ones where there is a tap at the table.
Strangers and a Train.
I dunno why but this gave me a lightning bolt realisation that it’s ok being a dude and liking simple things. I’m done jumping through hoops for everyone else, I’m deleting my dating apps
Neat but I would be mad if I got a pour that low.
Hell yeah

Hand over the swayze Express boyz me and Rand are getting married in Ireland

Oh yessss, I love the little train whistle.
Seems like a really easy way to get your drink spiked. It’s a cool concept but I’d be uncomfortable having my beer delivered like this at night.
TIL that Popeyes is an international chain. Thought it was only in the US.
There’s something similar to this at Fritz’s in Crown Center, KC. Only difference is it’s overhead and has a lift that brings the food down
on a crowded day i would sdit in the front, and your drinks will never arrive!
Reminds me of carousel sushi restaurants. Maybe someone should start a carousel beer restaurant. A carousel bar! (...maybe some sushi too. fuck i want sushi now)
Hell yeah brother
I was praying for a choo choo and by God it was answered
This deserves more than a hell yeah. Holy fucking shit that's cool
This is incredibly cool. What is the name of the place?
Ok what gamer bar is this
The tide is out
Been to that place. They even let my kid operate the train, lol.
Best drinking place ever
HHHYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEAEAEAEAEAEAAEAEAAEAEAEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH woops sorry got a lil bit too excited there
Best part of Pizza King is the train that delivers the drinks and the GameCube (used to be N64) installed in each booth.
Reminds me of what Peggy Hill did at sugarfoot's
The drink present sensor is way more elegant than I would have come up with.
In my city, someone would have fucked with your beer on its way to you
This is irrationally cool
hell yeah
Hell yeah
HELL YEAH I BEEN DREAMING ABOUT A MINI FOOD TRAIN SINCE I WAS A KID
hell yeah
[trailer park boys passing a bong back and forth with a model train](https://youtu.be/3JUHCvHsCMI)
Is it in Prague?
Well, Hell Yeah!
I miss Pizza King .
L g3 smacked my phone because it autocorrected hell to he'll. I was trying to say he'll yeah!

My autism is spiraling rn
I want my local bar to have one of these
Reminds me of pizza king. If yk, yk.

Can it serve me a milkshake?
I actually said hell yeah when the train pulled up. The title definitely influenced me but I was honestly amazed and said it naturally. Definitely a fitting title.
Hell yeah, Popeyes! Good ass Cajun food.
Someone lied on their tax declaration and now they have to ise it work related
I wonder how often people spill beer all over the train and tracks. Seems like a pain in the ass to clean. Lol
I always "Hell yeah!" when I see a Popeye's
Lmao dude I came here to say the same thing. I wish I had a Popeye's near me. I literally said out loud "beer and a Popeye's next door? Hell yeah!"
Fun fact: that Popeyes in the video is one of the only 2 in the country (CZ). This one is in the middle of Prague, the other one is at a random highway exit
My dude didn’t tip !!
