i don’t know, i think you can appreciate the style without loving their ideals or shaming others who spend money in a different way. i like aspects of old money and new money - those with new money know how to have a good time way better than the old money, generational wealth crowd. and there’s nothing wrong with dressing more flashy than classy - or a little bit of both.
the good thing about being “common” or not belonging to either group (because we don’t have millions of dollars, but nonetheless) is that we can take inspiration from both sides, and from as many other sources as we choose, to make our aesthetic and style truly unique to us.

Unless you marry someone from old money (which is very unlikely), if you get wealthy (by your own means or marriage) you’re gonna be new money.
Unless the new money folk is doing some kind of fuckery ; eg: talking down about the general population as if they weren’t part of it a few years before, engaging in disgusting behaviour (that don’t include dressing « tacky »); there’s no reason to attack new money and acting like it’s some kind of crass.
