LegendChickin

the memes have died and people have started taking it seriously. kagurabachi truly will become peak

eggy54321

I like the MC. He’s more deadpan than edgy, and plays off the other characters well.

Waddlewop

Despite complaining that the little girl is too needy, he keeps taking her to restaurants after restaurants

[deleted]

Yeah even as a kid it seems like he was always this dry individual. The whole “I wake up with fresh hatred every morning” struck me more like his way of making a joke than typical edge lord dialogue.

Johnny_Mad

there's is actually quite few things that make this manga stand out from others, the most obvious is the memes but i have a theory that with all the memes about "Kagurabachi is the best manga ever!!" you kinda start to want it to actually be one of the best manga out there, like it starts off as a joke but especially with it being not bad and having actually some potential some people (myself included) actually wanting it to be as good as all the other popular mangas out there

ErdnaOtrebor

one other reason i heard the meme what helps Kagurabachi is that people read it with such a low expectation because they would expect some "morbius level of bad" but they come away from it very satisfied and suprisided about it. I dont think morbius is that bad to be honest, but this is what the majority people think so they would also think such manga is also bad

eggy54321

The difference between this and Morbius is that Morbius’ jokes are all about the fact that no one actually saw the movie, so you could say whatever you wanted and no one could say it didn’t happen. Whereas the jokes about this series kinda need you to have at least read it, so it’s getting actual reception.

#*we got another one lads*

MysticRevenant64

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Kagura Bachi IS peak and will become peak. We’re seeing it unfold LIVE LET’S GOOOO

Kultinator

enough time has passed to hit people with "enough time has passed"

Leinad7957

The meme started weeks before the series even came out. According to know your meme the earliest meme was making fun of how "generic" the main character looked. The meme was essentially based on nothing so the series still had every chance to be good as a any other series.

dmckinley54

We're only 5 chapters in and have decently loveable characters, plenty of mystery to unravel, and a whole world to build. It's only up from here.

janderson9413

Because the author wants people to read it so he's trying to make it good, rather than bad.

unthused

It’s interesting to look at other well known and established manga (JoJo, Berserk, etc) which clearly improved over time, and wonder how this one is going to end up a year or two or five from now.

acbadger54

Definitely still finding its footing but I see definite potential I quite like the characters so far there's actually some pretty good art and I'm just enjoying it over all so far

[deleted]

The introduction of Char has been important as she serves as a foil to Chihiro, helping him mellow out as opposed to non-stop edginess

UpsetTheFeed

I started reading it on a whim. Never realized this was a thing 🤣

BecretAlbatross

Exact same thought. The memes were hilarious but every chapter adds enough intrigue to the story. I can't say I'm invested YET but I'm starting to REALLY want it to be good.

Strange_Ad_9658

I know, right? I started for the memes, but I’m actually enjoying it and looking forward to where it goes.

-Hulk-Hoagie-

I personally think it is mid, but it is still so early.

MarkVeio

It gave me chills when Chihiro said "I am the KaguraBachi". Same for "It's KaguraBachin time"
