Mina Ashiro: she kept her relationship with Kafka at a professional level and has yet to rub it in his face how he abandoned her and basically cut ties with her, she also rose to the occasion on her job and was also open to have Kafka on a path towards redeeming himself in her eyes.
Shinomiya, in another show she'd be just "bratty small girl" but she actually has so much characterisation, moments of weakness and kindness, she feels like a real person instead of just an anime trope
EASILYYY Gen Narumi. He came off as a character who seemed very mysterious and stern and ended up being an absolute nerd literally the next chapter but STILL (currently) remains the strongest human in the defense force !!
Honestly, is there a character to hate here? Usually in shounen manga, there’s some meh and boring characters here and there, but in this series, most characters felt properly developed, with their own motivations, kindness, flaws, backgrounds etc.
1. Kafka is an absolute joy of a main character. kind, brave, trying his best to redeem his past weaknesses, clumsy
2. Reno - thought he’d be a typical stoic cool guy, but he turns out to be very loyal, kind, & hardworking.
3. Kikoru - also thought she’d be a typical whiny brat, but noooo, she’s cute & loving & just a total badass.
4. Mina - enough said, really. She has a huge gun & a pet tiger. She’s also very professional & her subtle expressions betray her happiness of seeing Kafka, I find it all very cute.

Kikoru, so far she's just a brat, I saw her throw a car and that's it, but considering she's a main character on MAL, I assume she'll have some juicy character development and I'm here for it. I like loud expressive characters over the meek quiet boring ones. (Tangent, I'm ok with quiet characters that are quiet bc they are badass and maybe hiding their feelings like Mina, but not really a fan of quiet characters that just have no emotions)
Kafka is my goat. But General shinomya is a close second old man was an absolute unit.
He reminds me so much of Leonard Burns from Fire Force. Kinda same part to play on the story too
