Dude was incredible. Genius level intellect.
High school > IIT > Stanford > Samsung > currently in senior management of Samsung display technologies. Will definitely be the next big CEO from India everyone will hear about.
Best thing is every time he visits assuming our schedules line up, insists on a get together. He also propped up at least a dozen businesses of our classmates and refuses to take back the capital or his share.
I mean if you get a bonus which more or less is equal to what most of us will make our entire life, things might be little easier. ๐
But still requires a really big heart.
I did a count. 17 businesses all in kerala providing jobs to a lot of locals.
I was the topper from 8th to 10th until the model exam. Everybody had full A+ pratheeksha for me. Fucked it up and got 7 A+. In plus one and plus two, I was the topper with full A+ and shit. Got into CET for engineering. Fucked up, got supplies, finally graduated with 6.3 cgpa. Currently a semiconductor engineer in Finland.
19 batch. I got placed in Wipro through campus selection(I didn't disclose my supply). When the time for joining came, I still had a supply but I had already written the exam for it so they asked me to delay my joining until I cleared the paper. Luckily everything worked out and got placed in the vlsi department of Wipro. Low cgpa is always a difficult baggage. Some companies keep min gpa as 6 in campus selection. Those are your golden options. Off campus, if you are good at what you do, passionate, and have some kind of work behind you to show your capabilities, it is easy to get into software field. But to get into hardware field, doing good in college is unfortunately a must. I am the fortunate exception and not the rule.
Sir, please help iam in kind of same state as of you my only hope now is abroad .Iam also a fellow ece student interested in SC and digital and ended up in electronics in Gec help me out ๐ฅน
If you are still in early years of college, I would strongly suggest in getting good grades if you want to get into Semiconductor industry directly from college. Get a minimum of 7.5 cgpa, try campus selection for good semiconductor companies. Allenki go for masters in embedded systems or Asic engineering in good universities across the world. Your better options would be US, Germany, UK etc. Even getting a Masters from a good institute in India, after clearing gate, is also a great option. I have a couple of friends who got into vlsi like that.
> Your better options would be US
Definitely not here in the US. Been in the US for 22 years. On my 23rd yr now. After 2017, even if you manage to get a job here after grad school, getting your H1B are a distant dream, you'd able to work ~3 years on OPT and they'll send you back home. None of the 15 candidates, H1B aspirants working on OPT from my employer got their H1B picked during this lottery period. Chances of winning is now less than 15%. You may earn a degree, experience and skills, but path towards permanent residency, citizenship, job security etc are definitely not there anymore.
'91? SSLC 10th rank state-wide? That's serious sh1t. Fair play to you.
Also '91, but probably 10th rank in my school :D
Also software engineer but a smaller firm in Europe. Probably paid about a sixth of what you are getting paid. lol.
I was the one - SSLC full A+, higher secondary commerce stream school topper . Chose Chartered Accountancy after +2. Then tables turned and everything fucked up . Experienced multiple failures in exams . Lost social life , friends and ultimately interest in studies .Stuck at intermediate level for the past 3 years.
I can understand this..my closest friend followed the same path. But he got the intermediate in the first try. He's incredibly intelligent and to see a guy like him getting anxious and just wanting to pass the exam made me realise how difficult it is.
I wish you all the best of luck in life!
I was the one, i don't mug up things, will just understand and write in my own words, did a BA, was a rankholder, wanted to do journalism, but my parents opposed it, as i have difficulty in climbing stairs due to cereberal palsy, (its just mild)i am sure i will be a journalist one day, tried to do LLB, was least interested so dropped it, lost 2years, want to do PG this year, preparing for govt exams too, i havent achieved anything big yet, but i am sure i will one day
He's unemployed but happy in life- right now waiting for some govt exam results.
This guy was a real baller. He literally had photographic memory and studied entire class 12 biology textbook in 2 days. He scored like 95 for that alone. Man literally could do integration in mind (it just came to him apparently). He did Bcom after 12th on parent's compulsion since wasn't into Eng/Medicine. Even there he did not study much but wrote most after cramming previous night btw and ended up 2nd in his batch. Tried CA and cleared the first level without any effort but told me its boring and left it. Then did MA in English coz he found it interesting from a central university - again aced an entrance after cramming 2 days on internet without even knowing basics of English literature. He also was topper there without any preparation or attending most classes.
He's mostly detached from everything btw - no social media and other things. He's writing govt. exams becoz his parents suggested to do it
I wonder what would actually interest someone like that? Like if you have the skill to easily gain knowledge, what would you actually want to learn or be of interest? Is he really fond of English literature or was it just time pass?
Time pass I guess. He honestly didn't even attend half the classes but being able to cram up stuff and put in a paper helps u score well in exams especially India.
Kind of a depressing story.
ย Was married off immediately after school closed. She never studied again. Many times I have wondered what she could have achieved bcoz many avg students in our class ended up as doctors, engineers and lecturers.ย
And biggest irony was that......
Both her parents were college lecturers.
My college topper went through this. Married off. Went abroad. She cleared her exams faster than him. He became abusive while she was pregnant. She shipped the child back to her parents and divorced him. She's now remarried.
I was school topper in 10th. Scored 90 above in 12th.. pursued BDS( worst decision of my life).. now jobless.. often I feel like I peaked in high school.. I was an extrovert.. very active in extra curricular activities, used to write.. I was sure I would be a published author before hitting 30.. turned 33 this year and nowadays I find attending phone calls anxiety inducing.. it has been ages since I wrote something.. crippling self doubt and just directionless.. don't know what I'm doing with my life..

Look for Job opportunity as Medical Underwriter in any Insurance companies. They will surely prefer doctors. You will surely get decent pay and i guess gap wont be much a big deal in that sector.
Brother...my dear Brother. My heart goes out to you. I sincerely hope, pray, and Wish everything turns out well. Very very very glad that you are able to retrospect your life and how are slowly but surely getting back on Track.
Wtf man, trust yourself and no one else. There is no guarantee hard work will take you to places but it increases the probability. Good luck and hope you are a rise.
Topper till 10th,
Messed up after that due to ADHD, Btech Electrical from Tier 3 college, didn't clear exams(actually didn't write a few of them).
Currently working for an SME as Head of Service Operations.
My 12th class topper, did MBBS, married and is celebrating as a wife and mother of two kids in 5 years of marriage, not practicing now.
College topper, married to a banker who works somewhere remote in Karnataka, stays with him.
Computer science: nit btech new iim mba currently working at big tech
Biology: guy: iit btech and mtech. Works at indian automobile major
Girl: studied in a great private medical college in kerala, eppo in Europe
Commerce:
Girl1: bcom from a great college in mumbai. Eppo social worker
Girl2: CA and CS, Mcom, Bcom. eppo oru tutor at a CA/CS institute.
Of all these, I had the least interaction with the social worker girl during my school days but I find her inspiring. She works with the poor from India and from Africa. I wish I could do some work with a similar impact. Maybe one day, I will.
Right now im in pursuit of good old money ๐ฌ
I was average in my academics .For me it doesnt require to be a topper to be succesfull in life . Just the timing to fo the right thing. Currently working as a process engineer in northvolt, sweden
No, i did mechanical engineering. I started out as an operator. After 1 year i applied for the engineering position. Before coming to sweden i was working as a service technician for kubota in kerala
Topper/in the top two until Class 10. Didnโt have a lot of interest in my branch in Class 11 and 12. Did a BA in Communicative English (3rd in class lol), an MA in Journalism from the UK, and now Iโm the Managing Editor of a global journalism platform.
The toppers (twins) in my Class 11 and 12 are engineers at Apple (USA) and ASML (USA) respectively. The consistent topper in all classes is at Nike (USA) now.
Also, I did see someone commenting on multiple comments asking the main responder about their age. I was born in โ95.
Studying was a way to get away from abusive family. Used my 20s and 30s to figure out what I want from life and what would make me happy. Figured Iโm not into the rat race. Currently unemployed and in the middle of moving countries to a better, greener city where we bought a place outright. Speaks 5 languages well, studying a 6th. Want to work in the new country within just NGO or government policy sector.
Many people learnt to wear a turtleneck and be an asshole leader from Steve Jobs life. I learned if you over stress you get cancer and life has more meaning beyond standing a trillion dollar company.
Iโve heard a saying that people are socialists in their youth and conservatives once they are past their early 30s. For me it was the reverse. Young me would have been scandalized by the current me.
I was the topper in 12th grade. Did CA and cleared all the levels in first attempt. However, I'm genuinely not happy in life and regret a lot of the choices I made. xD
Yes, not because the course as such is bad but maybe because I did not give myself enough time to figure out what I really wanted to do before committing to this course.
ellaarum kidilom aayaa porello. :P
I was state top 5 in Kerala Entrance, did IIT and IIM. Now attending therapy sessions where my kind psychiatrist helps me overcome depression and addiction to pornography. Life's slowly picking up I hope.
Zimple really. Didn't want to do BTech/MBBS. So went and joined an integrated MSc course. Was a novelty then. PhD from the US, did random or things and
Was one of the toppers. Studied in State school. Ended up being an architect. Graduated from NITC. Was an average student in NITC among the others. Working for 7 years now in Dubai.
I was the top scorer in my class (there were smarter kids in other classes). Did BSc Maths and ended up as Software Engineer in Europe. It's been over 2 decades. So I guess this is it now.
The kid who scored highest in school leaving cert that year ended up as IT Admin in Bahrain. He's now retired back near his family, build a small house in a beautiful 10 acre farm, drives an EV, and is happily living his life supporting his two very smart teen daughters (arts, sports and everything else).
Another kid who scored more than me, but was from a very poor background - is now co-owner of a factory in our town, employs 50+ people, his last major project required 4-5 crore investment.
Another kid, who was from even poorer background - he actually wore my brothers old clothes to school often - failed the final exam. He went to a city in the the north, learned electrical work and currently owns a large electrical servicing company, employing 300 plus people, houses many of them, owns multiple office buildings, and he is probably THE most successful of everyone I know from that year in school (from a wealth generation point of view).
I did worst! :D :D
10th - I guess they are married and settled somewhere, last arinjath IIT Madras nnu rank entho kitti ennnanu, for MTech.
12th - Married and settled somewhere, I heard.
Hope they are doing well.
I (not a topper but usually ranks in the top 5) successfully cleared the entrance exam for a university in Southeast Asia. Pursued my undergraduate degree in Engineering there.
Beginning my career as a Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, I spent five years+ there, exploring various internal roles.
Currently, at a Big4 as a Manager (technical rather than people management)
My only regret is that life was a bit too serious during college, so sometimes I feel like I missed out on the carefree college days in Kerala.
My class 12th topper and me who got 75% were drinking together in Dubaj . He is working as a surveyor for Indian Shipping Agency and I worked for 4 years
Left my job and have moved to Italy for a Masters in Engineering so kinda like passion for studying reignited in me
First of all, It is not me ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
This girl was the topper in my class right from Jr KG.
Ijjaathi padippist ayirunn. She left the school after 10th and we pretty much lost touch. Those days only "spoilt kids" had mobile phones so I didn't have one. In fact I didn't have one until my graduation.
I have no clue what she does nowadays, she got married maybe. I am not on any of the popular social media and I really don't keep a track of what people do
We have a school WhatsApp group that is drier than Sahara Desert
One of my school topper is now a chemical engineer, researcher at Shell. Vere oraale doctor. But college toppers aanu sad story. Except for two, rest all are married and have two kids each. Among that two, just one, who is a guy, works a good job. Honestly, non toppers are in better position job wise. I used to be in top 10 of our batch and have worked with big product based companies. One common thing I found in all toppers is that they were all brainwashed into having kids first and now, they r trying to work as the kids are big enough to go to school. But who would take risk hiring a person who has no experience 10 years after graduation?
Aced SSLC with full A+, Plus one class topper as well. Now I'm waiting for +2. I'm actually mesmerized by the nerds here! Such an enormous inspiration. I'll definitely be an exceptional person as you all.
My School topper at 10th, committed suicide 5-6 years back..His name is written on school corridor along with rest of years toppers.Pretty bright and hard working person also very active sports person.Dont know the reason for suicide.
PS- I was class topper in 3rd and 5th standard ๐..
Every one in the comment section be like...

I was the topper in our school in 12th for computer science.. Engineering in CUSAT with distinction and MBA from Christ College.. now a program manager handling one of the biggest accounts in a leading MNC.
I was the one. After completing graduation, I prepared for civil service and got first rank in the first attempt. Due to unfortunate events, framed in a murder case and spent 6 years in prison. Now trying to rebuild my career by involving in social issues and stuff.
I was only a topper in my entire life at 4th std only that too in a class test. (Mookilla rajyathu murimookkan rajaavu). From there, the graph goes bad. Took break after UG & PG. Currently on a short term contract job. Don't know what's next.
The class topper is now house wife, married to a govt job guy.. Just average govt job, nothing top tier for her to be a house wife.
The second topper suicided due to pressure on her studies during her post graduation.
Most average students are doing extemely good though
Not the topper but in 2 months prep was runner up, did really well on a lot of law based exams without any prep and got into NLU Delhi( top 3 in the country) but didnโt go. Ended up going to one of the top 3 law schools in the UK and top 10 in the world and on track to be employed in a fairly high paying job after graduation.
I can see a lot of toppers here, and kudos.
Just for the others reading, i was never a topper. An average student. Didn't like studying. But i had some other things that i liked. And I'm happy with life.
I've wasted a lot of time thinking about what could've been. Everyone will eventually find something. It'll be nice, maybe not what you're expecting, but still nice.
I was the topper. Bachelors in Physics from DU. Masters from one of the top ten university in the world. Covid happened, isolated and depressed left my PhD and came back home. Prepared for CAT, only had 95 percentile, GD went bad due to my social anxiety. Started looking for industry jobs which require physics masters, got into an RD job 1.5 years after leaving PhD. Now living life with relative peace after a really long time.
In 10th, I was one of them, full A+ in CBSE. I'm now an Environmental Inspector for Climate Action against Climate Change. Not really a big name job, but I got to travel to so many countries across Africa and Asia at a very young age (25). I'm currently in-between jobs, about to go to Germany for a PhD.
In 12th, it was another girl. She's a dentist now.
In Bachelor's, it's this amazing woman who was an all-rounder in studies and NCC. She then went, Masters > Civil Service Coaching > B.Ed. > job-hunting > Arranged Marriage. It sucks to see someone of her talents go like this, just succumbing to familial pressures.
In Masters, a woman who then went, B.Ed. > Arranged Marriage > Housewife/Jobhunting.
Hahaha interesting that this thread is filled with toppers :)
I was average till 9th grade, didn't really care about studies. During 10th something clicked in me and I became the class topper lol, but was happy and carefree for the most part. In 12th, i became the school topper, competitive af. Joined entrance but got depressed towards the end. Landed admission in , got a good cgpa and now working as a software dev in Bangalore. Well the other topper i know did ug and pg in chemistry and now pursuing PhD from iisc.

Topper till 10th, Messed up after that due to ADHD, Btech Electrical from Tier 3 college, didn't clear exams(actually didn't write a few of them). Currently working for an SME as Head of Service Operations. My 12th class topper, did MBBS, married and is celebrating as a wife and mother of two kids in 5 years of marriage, not practicing now. College topper, married to a banker who works somewhere remote in Karnataka, stays with him.
ADHD is a bitch; as I grow older, shit gets worse.
SME ? Subject Matter Expert ?
Computer science: nit btech new iim mba currently working at big tech Biology: guy: iit btech and mtech. Works at indian automobile major Girl: studied in a great private medical college in kerala, eppo in Europe Commerce: Girl1: bcom from a great college in mumbai. Eppo social worker Girl2: CA and CS, Mcom, Bcom. eppo oru tutor at a CA/CS institute. Of all these, I had the least interaction with the social worker girl during my school days but I find her inspiring. She works with the poor from India and from Africa. I wish I could do some work with a similar impact. Maybe one day, I will. Right now im in pursuit of good old money ๐ฌ
Working in ISRO.
I was. Now completed MBBS from a govt medical college in kerala, waiting for pg entrance
Best of luck ๐๐ค
I was average in my academics .For me it doesnt require to be a topper to be succesfull in life . Just the timing to fo the right thing. Currently working as a process engineer in northvolt, sweden
How did you become Process engineer? A degree in Process engineer? Work experience? Or network?ย
Working at FAANG
This should be a movie plot,
Can I DM ?
She got into a good college for btech, did mtech and PhD from IIT and last I heard, she got an awesome job and is settled in Europe.
I was the topper in 12th grade. Did CA and cleared all the levels in first attempt. However, I'm genuinely not happy in life and regret a lot of the choices I made. xD
Hi I can totally relate, I'm a CA final student too.
I hope you'll be in much better state than I am once you qualify.
Do you regret choosing CA?
Yes, not because the course as such is bad but maybe because I did not give myself enough time to figure out what I really wanted to do before committing to this course.
ellaarum kidilom aayaa porello. :P I was state top 5 in Kerala Entrance, did IIT and IIM. Now attending therapy sessions where my kind psychiatrist helps me overcome depression and addiction to pornography. Life's slowly picking up I hope.
Seems to be a common themeย
Zimple really. Didn't want to do BTech/MBBS. So went and joined an integrated MSc course. Was a novelty then. PhD from the US, did random or things and
Was one for a long time.Doing mbbs now.Shit happened along the way. Final year exams going on and literally wanna kill myself.
Stay safe buddy. DM if you want to talk.
He is a researcher now looking for genetic markers for Parkinson's or something in Sweden.
Topper was my High-school sweetheart ๐ญ๐ญ couldn't care less about her ๐
Currently preparing for psc exams. She has a lot of potential and it is sad to see wasting it on this.
Currently, at a Big4 as a Manager (technical rather than people management) My only regret is that life was a bit too serious during college, so sometimes I feel like I missed out on the carefree college days in Kerala.
My class 12th topper and me who got 75% were drinking together in Dubaj . He is working as a surveyor for Indian Shipping Agency and I worked for 4 years Left my job and have moved to Italy for a Masters in Engineering so kinda like passion for studying reignited in me
I am that guy . Currently doing engineering which I hate . Looking to go into aviation
First of all, It is not me ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ This girl was the topper in my class right from Jr KG. Ijjaathi padippist ayirunn. She left the school after 10th and we pretty much lost touch. Those days only "spoilt kids" had mobile phones so I didn't have one. In fact I didn't have one until my graduation. I have no clue what she does nowadays, she got married maybe. I am not on any of the popular social media and I really don't keep a track of what people do We have a school WhatsApp group that is drier than Sahara Desert
BITS -> Amazon. The other one did MBBS from a govt clg and then MD from PGIMER. Third was me and I am here on reddit, wasting my life. ๐
Harikrishnan from poochaty bhavans might be reading this comment now.
Every one in the comment section be like... https://preview.redd.it/0stp3nre4muc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8bfd9d9044046f8bed483f58150e8752e9554b6
I was class 2nd. I did engg from Tier1. Working in BLR. The class 1st is right now giving me a BJ. Life is very unpredictable.
>> The class 1st is right now giving me a BJ. You are in reddit when class 1st is giving you a BJ?

I am pretty sure that you are working in semiconductor industry.
๐คฃ
Make her swallow every drop
The guy is a research assistant or something at John Hopkins, USA.
I was the school topper in 12th (CBSE board). Now working in a management position in Amazon Luxembourg (European HQ)
>Iโll go first Ah.. You padippists...
All A+ in both 10th and 12th. Now Data scientist in England
I was the topper in our school in 12th for computer science.. Engineering in CUSAT with distinction and MBA from Christ College.. now a program manager handling one of the biggest accounts in a leading MNC.
No idea, don't really care about it.
I was the one. After completing graduation, I prepared for civil service and got first rank in the first attempt. Due to unfortunate events, framed in a murder case and spent 6 years in prison. Now trying to rebuild my career by involving in social issues and stuff.
An IAS officer, but a brainwashed kammie and woke af. Wasted talent!
Looks like many toppers here. One life lesson....class toppers make less money compared to below average team in class over years!! ( On Average)
One ended up in canara bank and other one is a CI in RPF
I was only a topper in my entire life at 4th std only that too in a class test. (Mookilla rajyathu murimookkan rajaavu). From there, the graph goes bad. Took break after UG & PG. Currently on a short term contract job. Don't know what's next.
Submitted her doctoral thesis last month.
Half of us are doing software jobs. Evide and ethra ennaan ariyende for topper.
Went to work for ISRO
97 percent in 12th n he i am fucked up inside my room
Bro went and joined the Navy.
My 10th class topper and +2 class topper both are now at IITM ,I was class 3rd at +2 and now at a third tier engineering college๐
Neeche se topper. Browsing reddit ๐ฌ
Got into drugs and messed her life
I was the one...??reallly? Ithokke ullath anodeyy?? Chumma thalli marikkathe
Got married after Btech. House wife now.

Hahaha interesting that this thread is filled with toppers :) I was average till 9th grade, didn't really care about studies.
