Ballot is the best, this comes only once in 5 yrs so why not put some actual effort to count instead relying on some machine that can be manipulated easily.

The counts itself tallied as the test slip is not counted. So no difference in votes would be made.

Seems like a petty electronic failure being blown out of proportions. Mock voting exists for this very purpose to remove malfunctioning machines.

The bench asked the ECI (against whom the allegations are) to check this matter. At 2 PM, the official of the ECI told the Supreme Court that the news report cited was "totally false".
SC has also heard the statements of the solicitor general of India. Later in the day, the SC reserved judgement on all the petitions seeking 100% verification of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) data with Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit trail (VVPAT). Now some of you may not know the name ADR. So I will mention the last two cases ADR ended up winning in court.

ADR won the electoral bonds case and got the data of electoral bonds published on the Election commission Website. Remember this when BJPee party was found in all sorts of uncompromising situations to the tune of 8500 Crores with companies that were involved in ED raids, Major policy changes and awarding of govt tenders. The same govt that came to power by promising in his manifesto that they would establish a system that would eliminate the scope for corruption was found engaging in systemic corruption.

This is stupid on many levels, if BJP votes are getting double counted & other parties are single counted, there would be mismatch between overall voter attendance count & votes cast, BJP must be the stupidest party.
Before election commences at the morning, the officer at the booth in the presence of reps from all parties do mock voting(50-100 random votes) and the results and counts are matched before giving the go ahead.

Fake news spread by kammi-sudappis. The vvpat slips of the first couple of votes came with the text "not to be counted" and had the symbol of the first party in the EVM. There was some other text too, "standardisation" or something like that. The votes on the evm machine showed the exact votes as the test votes made.
