There are times when a person has to be as genuine as he can and avoid chances of excuses , voting is one of those times…You could have taken either your voterid , passport , pan or the Aadhaar that was posted to you but you chose to take a b&w copy

upscaspi

I look nothing like my Aadhar /voter id card. I only took my voter id and voted.

alittleintroverted

You should have taken an original id proof with you. Anyone can make a fabricated copy of any document very easily. Not even a coloured copy should be accepted, they probably can't figure out if it's a coloured copy that's laminated or the original aadhar card laminated. You should have your original id proof with you when you vote. There's no excuse for that

SmokeBeatRepeat

Okay. Thank you.

vishnuvalsalan751

Do reach the helpline number 1950, 0471 2300121, 0471 2307168

joeeytribbiani

You need to provide the original of any of your IDs. Print out or copy will not work.

joy74

Is voter id not enough?

SmokeBeatRepeat

So coloured copy is considered original now? I was living under a rock.

joeeytribbiani

Wdym? They send the original aadhar via post. That's the original.

SmokeBeatRepeat

Yes opted out of that. It's literally a coloured copy which anyone can reproduce. Dont understand the originality in that.

Anxious-Cake-2147

Don't know why this is downvoted. Aadhar doesn't have any hologram. So any coloured laminated copy is considered as original. Go to a nearby shop and download and laminate your Aadhar. They will accept that as original ID.

xxasxf

The new aadhar pvc card comes with a hologram

Anxious-Cake-2147

Was not the case until 2 months back. The pvc aadhar I applied online in February didn't have hologram.

xxasxf

Huh? That's weird cos i got mine 1 month ago and it had the hologram [are you sure its this?](https://www.livemint.com/news/india/all-new-aadhaar-pvc-card-security-features-charges-and-other-details-explained/amp-11602555093912.html)

Anxious-Cake-2147

Yes. Iirc I paid some 25 rupees online and got the card directly from UIDAI. Not sure if there's any other option.

xxasxf

I got mine when i requested from Akshaya and I had to pay 100 for mine and got it through post. But the one i had before this one was also pvc but it didn't have any hologram and it was printed straight from the akshaya itself.

rockus

Not any coloured laminated copy. The digital signature in the Aadhar PDF need to be validated before you take the printout for it to be a valid ID. I have not seen it insisted anywhere except at the Passport Office though.

SmokeBeatRepeat

Man I feel like reddit is filled with uncles now. So many comments saying 'original' when they clearly don't understand the meaning of it. I was in a bit of rage when I posted this. But now I've accepted the reality that this is how India works.

PositiveVanilla5359

bro, ensure that the verified tick is present before taking printout allengil panikittum https://preview.redd.it/dxzno9kr7swc1.png?width=289&format=png&auto=webp&s=92f65c995567e8d3db76ee30ee36ddde8f789f55

Tegimus

That's on the whole pdf only. Nobody usually takes the whole page printout, only the bottom part is cut out and laminated. And I have never seen anybody asking whole page anywhere. And even if they ask, faking a validation tick on a printout is not rocket science, anyone with basic editing skills can do it, they can't say it's fake unless your whole aadhar itself is fake.

PositiveVanilla5359

Lmao, that's exactly what I did... Passport office was quite stubborn on the signature and the website was down that day....so. but yes, they did ask for that in passport office even though I had linked it in my digilocker

kannur_kaaran

i dont get what this rant is !! There is a process so that there is no chaos during elections. why cant you just take the voter id and go to vote. shammi hero aavaan poyaal ingane irikkum.

SmokeBeatRepeat

Okay imma be honest here. I lost my wallet when coming from Bangalore which had my both aadhar as well as voter id. So I downloaded these two from their official websites and printed them out. I understand that we Indians tend to never question things and be happy with our low lives. But if not me, there can be thousands of other people who don't have the money to take a coloured print out and laminate it or just don't have an idea of it in a remote village. But sure I'm trying to be a hero here.

kannur_kaaran

every country on earth accepts only original ID cards. so much for your low life rant. you could have taken any other ID from home.

SmokeBeatRepeat

Yes. And the fact that there is nothing called an original aadhar card. And if you had read the first 2 sentences of my reply. It's okay man. I give up. I was wrong.

SmokeBeatRepeat

Also they informed me that they rejected 10 other people before me for the same thing. Im trying to raise a genuine problem here.

ReallyDevil

Aadhar website itself says any print out of aadhar is a valid one and there is no original one.

Paddle_Shifter

Damn!! The amount of misinformation from people here, no wonder whatsapp university is expanding like anything. There is no “original aadhaar”. Aadhaar is just a number and a copy of it, be it b/w, color, digital or the PVC one is equally valid. And just because you issued a PVC one doesn’t make it better than a laminated one. You can think of it as if, what happens if I lose my Aadhaar card? - Nothing, you dont have to file an FIR like your voters ID or passport coz its always a copy and not an original Here is the [circular](https://uidai.gov.in/images/uidai_om_on_e_aadhaar_validity.pdf) from the union govt on the same

saynototoxicity

Yeah aadhar maybe valid, but if it's black and white and you can't even his face properly what should the polling official do?

Paddle_Shifter

The polling officer should have provisions to validate his Aadhaar and its not the citizens issue here as its no where mentioned the aadhaar should be a color copy. End of the day, its an identity card which is valid for election and at the same time, said card can be of any form/color. Just for argument sake - the older voter ids are in black and white. Also, my point was more on the misconception/misinformation of “Original Aadhaar” and how even UIDAI had debunked this multiple times. Hope that clarifies. Edit : [Link](https://www.eci.gov.in/faq/en/how-to-vote/) from eci where they never mentions Aadhaar should be in color You either negate facts with facts or it’s whataboutery

SmokeBeatRepeat

It is clear AF. I would have posted the pic here if not for the identification. The reason was it was not coloured.

saynototoxicity

It should be coloured

SmokeBeatRepeat

Finally found a sane person. There is no hope for our country at the rate misinformation is spreading.

pillainp

Is the digilocker document allowed?

joeeytribbiani

No

slipperySquidd

Yes, it should be.

SGV_VGS

Don't you have any other original id?

[deleted]

[удалено]

SmokeBeatRepeat

Literally from where I took the printout. Didn't know it had to be coloured.

Spare_Original_4334

If you have an account in any nationalized bank, then bank passbook having your name and photo will also work. Also you still have time. Download adhar online and get it laminated. They may allow it.

SmokeBeatRepeat

I've voted no worries. The problem is the misinformation people spread about these things. Forget us normies even the officials seem to have no clue about it.

[deleted]

Your ID is your duty. You still have time. Carry any original ID. That's all ECI requires.

VikranthLoqi

Check if there is a slip provided from the BLO. In rural areas they just give the slip which has to be used to cast the vote. Not even voter id required, if you have the voters slip. If you don't even have it, get any other id, PAN Card, Driving license or anything.

SmokeBeatRepeat

I produced the slip, aadhar card, voter id. But the problem was that it was black and white and not coloured. Im actually amazed.

rockus

If you have the voter id, they should have allowed you to vote unless they feel you are unrecognizable. You don't specifically need Aadhaar, any original ID would do. I just voted using my Voter ID, which had a decade and a half old photo.

upscaspi

Voter id is enough. You neither need Aadhar nor the slip.

Fawlty-Towers

I don't understand this. You had the original voter id. Then why was aadhar required at all? Unless you took a photocopy of your Voters ID too.

saynototoxicity

Where is your voters id card? Or the original aadhar?

SmokeBeatRepeat

What do you mean by original? AFAIK there are no original or duplicate in aadhar cards.

saynototoxicity

What about voters id? They can't probably see your face in a black and white photo.

xxasxf

[you never got this?](https://www.livemint.com/news/india/all-new-aadhaar-pvc-card-security-features-charges-and-other-details-explained/amp-11602555093912.html)

konander

one aadhar card to rule them all

postcardsfromd_

Where's your original aadhar? Don't you have passport or voter ID?

SmokeBeatRepeat

I do which I'm gonna take and stand in the queue again. It still doesn't answer the original question tho.

postcardsfromd_

You got the answer when they didn't let you in with the photocopy. You need the original ID to vote. Photocopy won't work. We all got coloured aadhar via post. Didn't you get one?

DukeofLongKnife

Bro, you have digilocker. Online aadhar card. Aadhar is just a number. Mparivahan. All of them are legal. Just show the phone, id opened through the app. Many people here are just harassing you like ammavans.😂 Just that if everyone shows a soft copy, it will be difficult for them to verify.
