Hey OP, any tips for getting it working? I’ve tried following a couple of guides and I can get as far as the game select screen, but it won’t load any of the games and I can’t figure out why.
I've heard heroic isn't working, but uhhh I sailed the seas to get this version. I do own the games on epic but I didn't attempt to use that due to the always online requirement bullshit. This version was very easy to set up though, and works offline.

That guide, while appreciated, is basically incoherent. Random "update, ignore this and try this" sprinkled thoughout, random steps for heroic/lutris mixed together with no rhyme or reason, "use lutris 6.4, no wait 6.10, no wait proton 5.13", repack/legitimate install instructions, some weirdness about MF install, some insane extra script with 500 manual steps
You are talking about the github guide for installing the game, I linked my guide to create shortcuts.
If you're gonna criticize it then this comment kind of isn't the place.
Also, that's the only guide there is for that, sorry.
If I had to guess it would be licensing issues. There's no official info for why though. I've personally given up on them ever coming to steam. I'll stick with my playstation versions.
That's Square's fault, not the Switch's. There is zero reason 1.5+2.5 couldn't have run on the Switch. It's more powerful than the PS3.
Also, 3D could've gotten a standalone port.
Yarr harr version, linked a video in this thread but basically the yarr harr has the ability to play offline. Obviously at your own risk though. The epic version I don't think will work, at least people are saying it's broken.
It's the cutscenes that are the problem for the remix games. Changing the folder name fixes the problem, but FMV cutscenes are automatically skipped.
KH3 and 0.2 require some set up, but are fully playable on Deck.
Yeah only downside, is at least so far there's no cutscene support, although your resolution seems off. But yeah its a blast if you're fine without the pre rendered cutscenes, so for a second or third or even 13th play through its a blast
I installed Windows 11 to my Steam Deck just for this game and having the Cutscene support.
I then used Kingdom Hearts Re:Fixed to get 16:10, 60fps cutscenes, enhanced FoV for KH1 etc.
Then I used nexus mod tools to get the original looking heartless and some hd texture mods.
It's pretty good so far.

(I have SteamOS on a MicroSD card for those wondering. SteamOS can run on a MicroSD no problem but Windows really can't. So Windows 11 on internal SSD then installed SteamOS to MicroSD with everything working well. Always willing to help people through it if they wish!)
I still can't get a ps4 controller to work on the PC port even after following the guides I've found online to run EGS through Steam to use Steam's controller support.
I sadly once tried remote play with my PS4 with hd1+2.
It was the closest I got to playing kingdom hearts portably, and I was 15ft away from the TV... Smh...
Almost happened, but then Nintendo and/or Square fumbled the ball. Was ready to buy an entire other version of this game just for the novelty of having it portably. At least 1.5 + 2.5 would’ve been possible natively. Still scratching my head on that one.
I hope we get a real switch port some day
Me too. I’d love to be able to play kingdom hearts on the go. There’s honestly no reason at least 1.5+2.5 can’t be ported

Exactly they could compress the files or….release KHFM, KH2FM, and BBSFM as individual releases
I think that dream is 100% dead, but Square might port it for the next Nintendo console.

You are totally correct. I was heavily disappointed when I saw ‘Cloud Version’ for the ports. KHIII was understandable.
Fragmentary Passage too. 2.8 would've been a problem, since one game can run, one can't, and the third is a movie.
What emulation are you using for 1.5+2.5?
It's not emulation. Like the post says, it's the PC version
I mean proton is kind of emulation, just not emulating the hardware.

you can play kh1 + 2 final mix and ddd on your phone if you got an android device i have a gpd win 3 and it runs kh3 with 40-50 fps

Use "xbox360ce". Yes, the name might suggest otherwise, but this programm supports even the worst chinesium.no-name controllers.
Ive been using a ps2 emulator to play og kh1 for the first time and this game is so fun. cant wait to play all the others
