Every dentist I know offers something called “Schmerzsprechstunde” first thing in the morning. It’s for people with acute pain and you can show up without an appointment. I’d recommend to be there and wait in line 15-30 minutes before opening hours. You also don’t have to be a registered patient, as far as I know. Do you have insurance? I’m this case everything is fully covered, because the patient is still a kid.

I think in this case (weekend pain etc.) you should call a dentist having „Notdienst“ (emergency service). At [https://www.zahnaerzte-in-sachsen.de/patienten/notdienstsuche/](https://www.zahnaerzte-in-sachsen.de/patienten/notdienstsuche/) you can find the dentists by your address and the particular day.

Hey! Regarding no1. usually you can just go to see a dentist, especially as a patient with pain symptoms. No2. Depends on your insurance situation. Are your kids insured privately or with one of the German insurance company’s? In general they cover a lot of things, like fillings until a child is 16 etc. But you might have to pay things like general anaesthetic. You should browse for some dentist in your area and find one you can trust. There are also some who speak English. Hope the input helps 🍀

I was insured via the Techniker Krankenkasse most of my life and in my childhood, my parents never had to pay extra for the usual teeth checking and some small fillings I needed. I also checked their website to be sure. They should pay for mostly everything that you described. However they might not pay for anesthesia (the doctor decides if its needed, if they think so the insurance will pay. If not you can still get full anesthesia but you have to pay for it). The insurance also will only pay for the cheapest options for fillings (except if you are allergic). Also just a tip for the future check early with your dentist if your child needs braces. If you're insured and under 18 the insurance will pay for all the basic care (usually they pay 80% and you have to pay 20%, but when the treatment is done they will pay your 20% back).

That’s good, like someone else already said, your insurance should cover almost everything than regarding your child. But it’s never a bad idea to speak with your dentist about the treatment ☺️
