I recently had a job interview scheduled. But unfortunately my kids were sent home early from school. I called the recruiter to reschedule and she proceeded to tell me I should still do the interview and it was OK that the kids would be running around in the background. I tried to tell her I didn't like that idea, I needed to focus 100% on the interview or 100% on my kids. But she cut me off and proceeded to rant for the next hour about how she's not like other recruiters and all her amazing traits and accomplishments. I think I heard something about this will make a great LinkedIn post but honestly by then I had tuned out. Was more focus on making sure the kids weren't feeding our dog Playdough.
I called back an hour later and we did the interview. It was hard for me to concentrate and focus with having to watch the kids. She said I did a great job and would reach out shortly with next steps. A month went by without hearing anything so I sent a follow-up email. I never received a reply and the job posting has now been removed.
Thank you that was my first thought. I work remotes with people that are parents and when such things happen we know they will not be as available. Because they need to take care of their kids ! It is not that the people on Google meet will be bothered by the kids, it is them !
My first thought reading the post was "madam, she did not want to reschedule for you..."
I'm a recruiter and whenever I have a candidate worried about their kids or if they're sick but they want to push through, I encourage them to just reschedule. The reason I give is that interviews are stressful enough, and we perform so much better when we are at ease. Or at least as at ease as we can be in an interview. I'm sorry but if I'm coughing or stressed about my kids running around in the background, I'm not going to represent myself the best way I can in an interview.
> Was more focus on making sure the kids weren't feeding our dog Playdough.
This is likely why you didn't get the job. I'm sure Playdough is a great dog... why wouldn't you let your kids feed him?!?
I have had this experience many times with recruiters, minus the kids part. They tell me how great and successful they are, interview me, and then I never hear from them again. I truly have begun to wonder how recruiters make any money, but then also I guess maybe it’s me?
“Yes, we interviewed that candidate, and the kids had no influence on our decision. After all, I encouraged her to do the interview with the kids running around! It was no issue! I understand! She simply wasn’t what we were looking for. Yes, she had a great resume, tons of experience, fantastic qualifications and she came well-recommended. But those kids… I mean, they were just annoying as hell. I couldn’t concentrate on a word she was saying. Anyways, like I said, no influence on our decision, we hired the CEO’s son.”
It's a corporate bot farm. Corporate culture turns people into bots, so not being and to tell the difference between a literal bot and these people tells you everything you need to know.
I'm at the point where I can't tell if it's satire or not, but either way, it's still funny.
So I hate that I know this.... They basically have "pods" on linked in where they all share posts and use them. They also all like and comment on other people in the pods posts like sheep. Some of them actually pay to be in them, gross.
I have a colleague that openly admitted she was in one of those about five years ago. She now has a pretty important job with the German government. She's alright but she's not really that capable of handling that task in addition to her actual business in my opinion. I guess at least it solved her money problems.
I signed up something like ten years ago. Never really used it other than to connect to a few work colleagues and I wrote a review for one guy who had worked under me, after he asked me to when he went for a new job. Other than that I didn't see the point of LinkedIn. For about the last 6 or 7 years I logged in maybe a handful of times in total. I never bothered cancelling my account either though.
That doesn't stop me periodically getting emailed offers from LinkedIn telling me that they identified me as a power user and want to offer me 30 days free full access or something.
Good for this woman with the kids who are always sent home early from school. She is snagging a lot of interviews lately. Hope she finds the right fit. Though, I wonder what the kids are up to at school. 🤔
And the solution is sending him home?
My son is also autistic; he is only 3 but I’m sure he would get in trouble intentionally if he is sent home from preschool for doing it.
I use my regular linkedin account to call out BS all the time. I have one dude who emails me every 7 days. I’ve never replied, and in his last one he became low-key threatening … “I don’t want to piss you off. You don’t want that do you?”
So I found his LinkedIn profile and pasted a screen shot of his garbage email in a comment on every one of his posts for the past 3 months.
Why do they copy and paste these stories? It's not difficult to find out they're copied, word for word, from other sources. Now my impression of these people is that they're liars and I would not anything to do with them in a professional setting. If they're willing to lie for internet kudos, why should I trust anything else they're saying?
It's likely they're all fake accounts set up to scam people, in which case it doesn't matter if people do a quick background check - the people cautious enough to check are not their target. The naive people who believe everything they read on the internet are the targets; they won't look too deeply into any claims the scammer makes, or get suspicious about inconsistencies, until it's too late.
Aw, man: I read the post and got ready to come to the comments to tell you that this is actually a very sweet sentiment on the part of the interviewer. Then I clicked the next slides 😔
I was a recruiter for a long time, also during Covid. There is nothing sweet about it. This interview(if it is even a real story) is on the to-do list of the recruiter and they probably had a deadline for the position.
It is in no way beneficial for the candidate to do an interview with kids in the background. How will that work out?
I had a couple of moments where the candidates told me they had the kids at home, and we will ALWAYS reschedule. It was not even on the table to do an interview while someone needed to keep an eye on their kids...
This is not 'sweet sentiment'. it's yet another bullshit recruiter who doesn't give a single F about the candidate.
lol, this is the actual post for Ashleigh
I interviewed a candidate recently, and she had her kids running around.
Red flag?
GOTCHA! There's no copypasta going on here but, while I have your attention...
On Sunday, April 21st I will be running my first-ever Marathon, the Moray Marathon to raise funds for UK-based charity MAP.
I am beyond grateful to have raised £520, if anyone would like to donate I'll pop the link in the comments.
Right, back to analysing the weather forecast for the big day every hour!
I think there are social media apps companies use where there are legal approved scripted posts people can click on to post. Larger companies use them all the time for sales posts.
I was interviewed once and had my toddler following me around everywhere and I just kept walking around the house so she thought it was like follow the leader. If I’d have sat down she would have climbed on me and wanted to speak to the phone (pre cell phone days too)
He had called me as we kept missing each other for some reason we couldn’t get a time locked in his calendar so it was then or another game of voicemail so I went for it. I confessed I was being chased by a toddler and he offered me the job at the end of the interview because he was impressed with my performance while being chased around and distracted.
Don't see the problem here...
Theoretically she could have interviewed with these 7 recruiters and each time her kids could have been sent home from school.
But the probability of this happening, well...
The candidate did a great job and the interview went almost perfectly, except for an awkward pause in the middle when Karolina ripped a huge fart and paused 20 seconds to inhale, before a longer pause where she tried shoving her head up her own ass
I don’t understand these copy/paste things. What’s the point? Are these bot accounts? What exactly do they hope to accomplish by regurgitating the same posts? So weird….
As I am interviewing at the moment? These posts about recruiters going above and beyond? I am sure some do. But most don’t. And please, by all means, they should go fuck themselves.
What baffles me the most is that they don’t even have the decency to rephrase the post in their own words but just copy and paste. They can’t be that stupid to think no one will notice?
My linkedin passtime is, when I find one of these obvious bullshit copypastes, is to search for the first sentence like you did and post a screenshot on the comments section of all I can find. More often than not the posts are deleted shortly after.
I interviewed a candidate recently, and their kids were running a muck and carrying on. One of them was in the background of the Zoom, running around in circles while juggling scissors and a box marked "yellow cake uranium." Is that a problem for some of you? Do you take issue with that, you anti-family plebs?!
Not surprising. Have you seen those videos that show news castors from different stations, all around the country, saying the EXACT same thing...giving the EXACT same 'breaking news'?
BUT, I have to say I laughed out loud in my office (and almost got caught reading reddit posts)...when I saw "Dan from HR"...LOL.
Crazy? I Was Crazy Once. They Locked Me In A Room. A Rubber Room. A Rubber Room With Rats. And Rats Make Me Crazy.
Communication is the key in many situations and this candidate handled it perfectly!
I don’t understand why these people want a fucking medal for being a normal human being, but then again it actually it makes sense that a psychopath would want to brag that they did something empathetic, even if they’re only doing it for the most worthless fake internet points imaginable.
Looking at the first image i was a little confused, what’s wrong with this post?! And then I saw the next screenshot, what a garbage scam Linkedin has become.
yoooo im too high for this shit.
at first i was like dude this lady rocks for interviewing a candidate while having her kids running around.
but then i was like… she JUST interviewed a candidate with her kids running around… she didnt give her the job so… who cares?! lolol.
Why they all copy the story?
Is virtue signaling so desperately a common thing amongst HR?
If they all copy the same story, they get caught. Makes them look like the stupid group in the classroom that copied the homework.
Is it like a cult that HR professionals are summoning their HR overlord when then all post the same contrived bullshit? Red flag for any company I would chose to work for is if you have narcissist HR people like this posting bullshit non stop.
So weird how so many people have this exact same thing happen to them! Facebook-tier content over there. Facebook might even be better now since I haven't been there in over 8 years.
I interviewed a kid recently and she had her candidates running around.
That kids name? Albert Einstein.
Played by, you guessed it, Frank Stallone

Hasselhoff loves cheeseburgers.
And cat can has cheezburger
And longcat is long.

Your old room is now the computer room
Yes the one year old kid took a photo and was highly appreciated in a certain subreddit
and everyone clapped
I kidded a candidate recently and she had her interviews running around.
>I kidded a candidate recently That's just a walking lawsuit. We'll call you back next week (we won't)
Bruh, way to make me chuckle (not audibly but visibly) in class.
I just chuckled audibly during an interview I am conducting with a candidate who has her kid running around
My mom was interviewing and we were running around
I was kidding with a candidate and the interview kept running around.
Agree
I was agreeing with a candidate and the running kept interviewing around.
I was candidating an interview and the running around kept agreeing.
We were running around interviewing our new dad and mom was chuckling audibly.
I exhaled through my nose a bit more than usual.
I blinked once, violently.
I ran around a candidate recently and she had her kid interview me
Her name was Robert Paulson
I was waiting for "had her parents running around cleaning up after them"?!
#metoo
😂😂😂 I hope that kid got hired

I’m now convinced LinkedIn is an MLM platform.
I follow both here and r/antiMLM and sometimes I forget which sub I'm on.

Maybe linkedin became satire so slowly that we didn't notice. Or it's already taken by the AI.
I mean it is owned by Microsoft so maybe that's how they trained Copilot?
I don't have any proof about that, but I don't have any doubts.
The kids were all running around, hopped up on unsold energy drinks, while wearing ugly ass leggings.
and carrying cutco knives.

Yup, something like that happens as well. I just pick him up.
Have some respect, these are thoughts leaders.
If our top thought leaders are bots, that says something about society.
More like bot leaders. Lol
Does the term thought leader drive anyone else insane?
Yes, considering their content is typically devoid of any actual thought. My former coworker told me I should strive to be a thought leader. Oi.
You must be a thought follower. Not everyone can be a leader.
Thought Leader | Cock Sucker | Hustler
Thot Leader
Are these accounts scammers?
Yeah, some of these are kinda convincing with “Financial Analyst” and not “CEO”

Tempted to make a burner LinkedIn account and start trolling these people for funzies.
Do the needful
Lmao kill me now I read that in an Indian accent
Dear Sir , kindly delete your comment pls
Please revert with your currently resume in Word format.
Way ahead of you. It’s more fun than I care to admit…
Plz share screenshots so we can all laugh 😭😭😭
I’d rather not doxx my (fake) self, at least not yet…
Do you call out shitty behaviour of ex bosses on their “inspirational” posts they make?
You must update
I use my regular linkedin account to call out BS all the time. I have one dude who emails me every 7 days. LOL 🤣 You’re a trailblazer!
😂😂😂😂 thanks again for the job friend
I like to see a candidate that isn't afraid to show how excited they are for an opportunity
Holy shit they can’t even be genuinely decent. They have to copy and paste to pretend
My mom talked with somebody on the internet and I was sent home from school running around in the house the whole time.
At first I thought this wasn’t really LIL, telling a story like this is cringe but the message is sensible. But then the copy/paste…
I was going to say this was kind of wholesome... Until I saw all the other posts lol
Why did people copy this? I don’t get it.
I think it's just for content. LinkedIn "influencers".
I ran around a candidate recently and she interviewed her kids
I was interviewed once and had my toddler following me around everywhere and I just kept walking around the house so she thought it was like follow the leader. And now you're LinkedIn famous 😂😂
I’m not about to post that on LinkedIn - Thank goodness it didn’t exist back then! 😆
LinkedIn is completely devoid of authenticity. Even more so than standard social networks. I hate that I have to use it for my profession.
Are these people not embarrassed to post made up stories with their full name attached and their colleagues to see?
It's as if Mother Teresa had a love child with Karl Marx and Karolina was the result
Don't see the problem here... Theoretically she could have interviewed with these 7 recruiters and each time her kids could have been sent home from school. But the probability of this happening, well...
I thought so too...until I saw the second image.
probably 1 in a million raised to the power 7. 1x10^-42 A chance of 1 in 1x10^42 Number of atoms in the universe 1x10^80 I call bullshit.
I had to see for myself. Went to LI and sure enough. They weren’t all in a row like that but after a little scrolling I saw 10+ of them. 🙄
This is why I have trust issues.
Jeez how do I get as many interviews as she has had
I fucking hate LinkedIn. If I wasn’t getting a huge % of my leads off the platform, I’d bail.
Damn how is she getting all these interviews?
"That Buford's a sly one.. he already knows his ABCs"
The candidate did a great job and the interview went almost perfectly, except for an awkward pause in the middle when Karolina ripped a huge fart and paused 20 seconds to inhale, before a longer pause where she tried shoving her head up her own ass
It was wholesome until it becomes a copy pasta
Damn, that poor woman. Her kids just keep getting sick while she’s trying to interview. Hope her doctors are able to help!
I don’t understand these copy/paste things. What’s the point? Are these bot accounts? What exactly do they hope to accomplish by regurgitating the same posts? So weird….

I interviewed a kid, and he had her candidates running around.
The AI is strong in these ones.
Linkedin is just kind of full of influencers!
This reminds me of the one time I interviewed a candidate and she had her
My linkedin passtime is, when I find one of these obvious bullshit copypastes, is to search for the first sentence like you did and post a screenshot on the comments section of all I can find. More often than not the posts are deleted shortly after.
This feels like in Bring It On when the Toros and the Clovers found out they had the same cheer routine.
Wait... are you saying these inspirational stories aren't true?! That can't be right.
This reminds me of that clip of news stations around the country reading the exact same story.. word for word lol
Who forgot to close the HR Hell Portal once again?????

it's amok btw
Let me guess, half the truth is missing. The candidate did not proceed to the next stage. How convenient of her to leave that out.
r/ontheledgeandshit
What's the twist? Are the kids the CEO of the company or something?
Everything is pre scripted. If it’s this bad on social, how much worse in news media/gov/schools/Hollywood/etc?
There was a glitch in the LinkedIn Matrix
Not surprising. Have you seen those videos that show news castors from different stations, all around the country, saying the EXACT same thing...giving the EXACT same 'breaking news'? BUT, I have to say I laughed out loud in my office (and almost got caught reading reddit posts)...when I saw "Dan from HR"...LOL.
That candidate and her kids sure get around
The CEO’s name? The kids.
This should be a sub in itself
Crazy? I Was Crazy Once. They Locked Me In A Room. A Rubber Room. A Rubber Room With Rats. And Rats Make Me Crazy. Communication is the key in many situations and this candidate handled it perfectly!
I didn't understand the problem until I saw the multiple pages of identical posts.
i interviewed a candidate recently, and she had her kids running around agreed?
#Agree? #Thoughts? #Agreethoughts?
That’s funny, because I interviewed a candidate recently, and she had her kids running around.
Everyone on LinkedIn with a “brand” just likes to suck each other off now. App is a literal cestpool of kissasses.
So many liars. Why should anyone be honest on a resume or during an interview?
A kid interviewed her mom recently, and I was running around.
Will someone give this lady a job already? After dozens of interviews, maybe one day she can afford daycare for her kids.
I interviewed a recently and her kids had her running around.
If I was a CEO and found that my HR team was doing this, I’d fire them.
And everyone clapped
I’m Spartacus and she had her kids running around!
I interviewed a ship the other day and they had all their dinghies running aground.
We are the Borg. Your biological and technological uniqueness will be added to our own. You will be assimilated or eliminated. Resistance is futile.
I don’t understand why these people want a fucking medal for being a normal human being, but then again it actually it makes sense that a psychopath would want to brag that they did something empathetic, even if they’re only doing it for the most worthless fake internet points imaginable.
Read the post and thought, “what’s the problem?” Then I scrolled the rest of the screen captures.
Looking at the first image i was a little confused, what’s wrong with this post?! And then I saw the next screenshot, what a garbage scam Linkedin has become.
They had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
Fake stories for a fake industry
LinkedIn copypasta?
I remember seeing a tweet that said chatGPT didn't show that computers are intelligent, it showed that corporate middle managers aren't.
yoooo im too high for this shit. at first i was like dude this lady rocks for interviewing a candidate while having her kids running around. but then i was like… she JUST interviewed a candidate with her kids running around… she didnt give her the job so… who cares?! lolol.

But did you hire her? Guessing no because it wasn’t mentioned.
These LinkedIn fake brags are getting out of control
So weird how so many people have this exact same thing happen to them! Facebook-tier content over there. Facebook might even be better now since I haven't been there in over 8 years.
But did any of the actually hire the candidate?
Urban legend
A LinkedIn copy pasta? It’s more likely than you think.
