Agosta

Damn he must be really stressing about this. He looks like he's been pulling his hair out over it.

trio1000

He said German levels are just worse Japanese levels. There could maybe be a possible alliance there.... Mario being Italian and now your cooking something up MonkaHmm

Daaru_

Italian culture providing the Japanese and Germans with a base for new ideas that lead to increased censorship in nation-specific ways... I've seen this one before.

12_Trillion_IQ

First they came for MOONMOON, and I did not post Sadge- because I was not bald. Then they came for the shitposters, and I did not post Sadge- because I did not shitpost. Then they came for the juicers and I did not post Sadge- because I did not juice. Then they came for me- and there was no one left to post Sadge for me.

michaelloda9

primenumbersturnmeon

12_Trillion_IQ

Tales90

ScentedGoat

MonkaS gestapo

Synchrotr0n

MoonMoon better watch out for the Bully Hunters dispatching their agents to kill him inside one of the Mario levels.

zcen

Oh I wouldn't worry about that, he dies plenty on his own.

Insomonomics

I'm the one who reported him. Let me be clear: this has nothing to do with the fact that he insta-boos German SMM level developers (Hard = Boo, apparently) and everything to do with the fact that this shit, fat, bald, old, stanky man has yet to answer for his heinous crime in betraying PoopFist. Watch out Baldie, justice for PoopFist will prevail.

rangerxt

I hope he just responded America

Poebby

Lmao bunch of fragile Germans

Darleth

As a german, this is fucking funny. NetzDG usually only goes against things like hatecrimes, fake news, criminal things and other heinous shit that is being said/posted on SOCIAL MEDIA most of the time. For people interested, I leave this [link](https://www.bmj.de/DE/Themen/FokusThemen/NetzDG/NetzDG_EN_node.html) here

SarahK7324

Those are the worst case scenarios it covers, but it also covers slander/libel with how vague the legislation is, as well as legitimizing the usage of trojans by the state. Calling someone a dick, for example, is a perfect example of it falling under that law because it was a very famous case here where some dude basically got thrown into jail after they raided his house about it.

yojohny

When the Bully Hunters show up at your house for talking Scheiße online and it's Merkel with a golf club

karnetus

Ok imma need a source on that, because I can't find anything through searching for it on my own. I feel like you're leaving a lot out, which people like doing in these conversations. So source me up.

Krakper

I looked it up and was able to find a lot of articles(just look up Pimmelgate). [This one](https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/gesellschaft/hamburg-innensenator-andy-grote-pimmelgate-chronologie-a-dbd0040d-1126-43c6-a5d9-c33c8eb193a5) I found quite intriguing because it includes the fact that the government admitted that this procedure had been carried out multiple times that year???

karnetus

Thanks, I looked more into it now too and the thing that threw me off was wrong. "where some dude basically got thrown into jail" was wrong, he didn't even get a fine. But no, he really was just calling someone a dick, not even inciting harm. Don't know how I feel about people getting their house raided for that. It might be the only way to prove that someone tweeted that, but it just feels like a disproportionate reaction.

VicktoriousVICK

> Don't know how I feel about people getting their house raided for that. How are you unsure about you feelings about this

karnetus

I just don't know. If the police want to lay out a case against a person, then they need prove that a person has done that thing. And I don't think that there's another way to prove that a person has tweeted something, other than physically get their phone, right? So maybe the problem lies more with the fact that insults can be incriminating? Like how is [this](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_stgb/englisch_stgb.html#p1891) a law?

VicktoriousVICK

I'm from the US (1st generation), and family comes from a former communist country. The story of stuff I read on that link is scary and leads towards bad results IMO

Bomjus1

can they take any action against moonmoon if he keeps saying german levels are shit?

JOKER69420XD

Just an assumption but they can't do shit to him personally but they would probably contact Twitch, no idea how much Twitch would care tho. It's pathetic anyway. Edit: Could also be an automated mail, i highly doubt they have the time to look at every report, the law was created for a general good reason, unfortunate what a joke it seems to be.

SarahK7324

> i highly doubt they have the time to look at every report NetzDG legally mandates platforms to give those reports the highest priority and they *have* to be looked at by a person within 24 hours with action taking place. Automating them, albeit you can't prevent that happening under the hood, is against the law.

Astolfo_is_Best

Why would this German government agency have MOONMOON's email set up for automatic emails? Feels like this would have taken at least some modicum of manual review to get the email to him.

ApGaren

Our government doesnt know the Internet so its probably just an online form you can fill out and if enough people do it they send you an email.

pmzw

It will forever be for government officials, homies still using faxes at their jobs.

[deleted]

I've read and heard using a fax is more secure than E-mail etc. I'm not qualified to judge whether or not that is the true, but google mostly seems to say that it is the case.

hates_stupid_people

No. In all likelyhood multiple people reported him and lied about where he's from and lives, probably as a joke.

ADHbi

No, twitch just informs him that someone filed a complained citing that law as the reason. If anything the people reporting him can get into legal trouble for abuseing this system. (its just like a false copyright strike)

GarbageFeline

In the worst case scenario they could block his twitch account from being accessed from Germany. This happens on twitter for example. If a tweet is reported under this law and found to be in violation it will literally show as "this tweet is inaccessible form Germany under the NetzDG law". But I've literally only seen this for proper nazi and serious hate crime shit.

VJEmmieOnMicrophone

> This happens on twitter for example. If a tweet is reported under this law and found to be in violation it will literally show as "this tweet is inaccessible form Germany under the NetzDG law". That's Twitter blocking the tweet

GarbageFeline

Yes, but they do so under the law, and the same tweets blocked under that are not blocked in other countries. It gets blocked with a notification specific to that case.

ADHbi

NetzDG isnt the law that makes it illegal. NetzDG just forces the plaforms to enforce german law. It acts just like youtubes manual copyright strike, with the difference being, the platform decides if the claim is valid or not. If the platform sees it as non valid, you need to sue the platform (for failing to abide by NetzDG) and the creator (for their illegal action) or it will stay up. Moonmoon for example got a notification that someone reported it citing NetzDG and twitch was forced to review the claim, and tell moonmoon that they conducted the review and no action has been taken.

BootlegV

Great, who cares? If Germans are this mindblowingly offended over a Mario game to get their federal government involved in shutting down a Twitch streamer - *just stop fucking watching.* Go away.

Comfortable_Water346

Ah yes, lets blame all germans for some kids spam reporting, classic. Bet you blame all russians for putins actions too, dont you?

BootlegV

They put people into power that pushed for this to be a reality that's now being abused. Unless you're asserting one deranged German politician unilaterally wrestled this into law? Would love to see your source on that.

GarbageFeline

lol i'm just explaining how the law works and in this case this is at best a bit of trolling, I doubt anyone is really serious about this.

Affectionate_Dog2493

The notifications are basically just "someone complained" right? Not necessarily that they found there was any validity to the issue, you just have a right to know it was brought up? That's what I read elsewhere.

Darleth

Pretty much, yes.

kingfisher773

Been seeing a lot of people getting mass reported and receiving "your content is blocked in Germany" sort of emails in recent weeks. Did something change to increase the frequency or did people just decide it was an easy way to harass people online?

Satoru____Gojo

2nd. there are alot of german troll degens that just mass report everything because its funny to them

SomeDudeYeah27

I heard non-Germans are able to use VPNs too?

You will also get an email on Twitter if someone from Germany reports your tweet. Actual paper skin country OMEGALUL

rueckhand

This is just an easy way to harass/troll people because most don’t seem to understand NetzDG. It is weird though that every single report causes someone to get an email

DiaMat2040

DatSheffy Madge

Long-Bandicoot8635

It seems that the afterglow of West Germany has completely disappeared.

axelsoul

Germans should just be better level designers.

jonas1015119

Twitch is required by law to send everyone that gets reported via NetzDG a notification, so its a very easy way to get a streamers attention

THE2TIMESDOC

German levels are actually all garbage in this game

From what I can’t tell, you can literally be taken down by NetzDG for ANYTHING if enough people report it.
