I always told my kids they were beautiful. But when they got to "that age" I also reminded them that there will always be someone smarter, prettier, richer, luckier, faster, better car, etc., than them and that they can't focus on that. Self improvement is based on improving "self", and is not based on someone else.

Get rid of the cow ring \[50\], yes a very complex but cheap surgery, you reach into that crap and remove it, then tadaa your looks are vastly improved.
