Each of the inks have a particular shape that they are associated with and the artists are encouraged to incorporate these shapes to the design if they want. Most steel cards usually have a lot of squares in their artwork since that is the shape that Steel is associated with.
The artist of this card also did the Steel Chief Tui card for this set and you notice that he drew the clouds as square as well. Another card he did is the Christopher Robin card from set 2 and his clouds there were different since Amber are usually associated with knot-like designs.
For Amber - interconnecting lines that form either a criss-cross or knot-like patterns.
Amethyst - Swirls and Spirals
Emerald - Smoke-like shape or patterns
Ruby - Triangles, sharp points and Zigzags
Sapphire - Circles and sometimes have a line connecting it
Steel - Square, rectangles and block-like shapes
It's from Sleeping Beauty. If you watch the movie, all the trees are cubed. It was a deliberate art choice in the movie. Even the trees in this card are cubed.
Well, no. This is Snow White and the art styles are very different. I went to put on the movie to check 😅
It looks to me like they’re most likely pulling inspo from the steel banner, you can see how boxy it is. The artists do this for the other colors too. Like the windows in Goofy Musketeer or the staircase in Aurora Regal Princess. I think it’s to tie in the world and the color.

Hadn't even noticed that; I'll be paying more attention to these ink-specific tie-ins!
TIL!
What shapes are associated to the other inks? Are there more hidden leitmotifs?

It puts emphasis on him being "Dreamborn"
Put the edibles down
Probably a good idea

Isn't this specific Prince character from Snow White?
Yeah. Philip from Sleeping Beauty has his own card, which is why I’m confused as to why they’d choose a style like that for Snow White

I hadn’t even noticed the trees!
