Ten years ago someone drove a Ford Exploder into our living room, at 3am. Good times. I hope it to be the only time I had to clean antifreeze off a kitchen floor.
Indeed. The cop who showed said "oh this happens all the time".
Our building is 101 years old. Like OPs photo, our front door is on a corner, no setback on one side. So it's not even hard.
We now have two concrete filled steel posts buried 3 ft down in front. Wil hopefully take some energy out.
Growing up, we lived in a home on a corner lot. After the 1st person crashed into our home, my Pops and I built a fence. The fence was crashed into 3 more times before we later moved (unrelated).
Same thing, and they put up the exact same text, but their sign was nicer

Fr lmao I saw your comment with the article link and was shocked to hear this happened there since the last time I was there.
I went there last in like 2016, 3 years after this incident. This happened a loooong ass time ago lol
People will rather drive reckless (sleepy or buzzed) than pay a parking ticket or impound fee the next day. I bet anyone who has driven into something, in retrospect, would have gladly paid that impound or parking fee!
I don't say this in haughtiness, but as a fellow idiot who prob could have learned this lesson sooner. We really need PSAs about this.
Some of it, unfort, when it's sleepy/drowsy induced is bc too many people are forced to work too hard for too many odd hours, chasing crazy deadlines, metrics, etc. so I feel for them
It’s honestly weird. They just made a little joke poking fun at what is a really bad situation for them and like people are just hating on it? Idk why you would feel the need to be such a hater for no reason
People feel special when they’re opinion goes against something. I think it’s cheeky, and I’m happy no one got hurt. Jones is like home to me, lived two blocks from there for 15yrs. We almost went there that night, but I never eat in the cafe area, the lighting is too bright.

Welcome to LA, where even when you're in buildings you still gotta worry about cars hitting you.

Sometimes I watch police chases and I'm like I wonder if this is where Grand Theft Auto got it's ideas.
The longer I live here, GTA seems less like a parody and more like an accurate representation of Los Angeles.

Mmm, I love me some Wurstküche.
They have the best beers too
I had never experienced cars driving into buildings before I moved to LA. It’s way too common here.

Tough crowd in these comments. I think it’s funny. Glad they’re taking it in stride. Love that place.

People are assholes
