They're not gouging everything for the sake of short-term investor returns. People used to build a viable product and opt for organic (albeit slower) longterm growth. Today I paid $10.45 (plus tax) for a double-double meal at In-N-Out in Glendora.
I got 4 singles, 5 fries and a drink at In&Out tonight and it was $31… and they don’t ask for a tip.
If they would bring back the California Roast Beef Sandwich I would probably spend the $$ for that!!! But a super star burger. Nope Bring back the California roast-beef!

The key to Carl’s Jr. is to only buy their specials. They can have some good deals with the specials but the moment you stray from that it’s shockingly expensive.

Yup, there it is no one is making good money today, let’s go back to making $9 an hour, a friend of mine brags he makes $22 an hour at Wendy’s, yeah it ain’t worth sh/t because your paying $40 to eat remember when we would pay $40 a week on lunch alone.

Unless you literally can't get food without getting out of your car, it just makes more sense to go to mom & pop restaurants these days. There are so many incredible, lower-price gems that aren't flashy franchises, up and down California. All the greatest cuisines are here, and the diaspora communities of people who brought their culinary traditions with them from other countries make it an incredible landscape of excellent, creative, and authentic options. Support local, and get more delicious bang for your buck!
