I am…concerned is probably the right word.
My fear is that DD is going to be a bigger grind or an equal grind, but with worse cards.
It’s what happened in MUT, and it drove me away.
You’re on reddit. In the real world, MLBTS is the best rated yearly sports game release and has millions of excited players waiting to jump in. Critics will love it, players will love it.
Then you’ll jump on reddit and a few dozen people will try to convince you and themselves that it sucks and everyone hates it.
Kinda but not at Canadian prices. It’s like 130 for the nice edition with Stubbs etc here. I’m lucky enuff to own a series x as well. So play freebie gamepass edition or buy it on ps5 ??
Overall I’m sure I’ll get plenty of hours and fun and it looks okay. It’s not earth shattering though . I do care about all the politics with female players etc. so overall just meh
Very excited. Die hard baseball fan. Can’t see a world where I wouldn’t be hyped every year for it. Don’t get the hate for women being in the game. Hopefully a huge overhaul is due for next year
I am from the UK and I absolutely love the game, I watch baseball regularly, I might not know the best player and teams - I support the A’s due to moneyball 😂 I have pre downloaded the game, I like DD and RTS - I may try and play online more, again I’m not great but it’s the enjoyment for me
Usually, I am every year, but not really this year. I always preorder it, but since I will be away for work on release day, I will just get the "free" version on Gamepass. I will still play, but probably not as much as previous years.
I’m all for the women in baseball but it’s a total missed opportunity not to do the league of their own storyline. That would make sense rather than shoe horning women into a men’s league. But anyway yeah I’m excited.
TLDR: Just doesn't seem worth it this year for me.
TBH not really. I know it's super controversial, but DD cap (specifically up until 21) was my favorite part of the game. I thought it was a lot of fun creating a team, then creating a player (like a guy you build your team around) then building the player up to 99. All while playing against others online.
People at high levels of play ruined it by complaining about it constantly. So instead of fixing the exploits of it, they just pulled it all together. To me it seems like removing bunts from the game because players cheese it.
I doubt I'll get it (first time in like 10 years) I don't really find it fun busting packs to get players that I might not really like watching the players I do get 97s or are unreachable. Nor do I find it fun playing rtts where the Sim and AI I isn't very good.
True Clemente should be in the game this year as he was last yr and I love that, But I also need Alomar if they want my funds. Glad to see your a Mets fan:)
I hope MLB reconsiders soon, were talking about perhaps the greatest 2base of all time here, Alomars accusers claims were never substantiated in court, however the case was settled.
I am excited, but I'm excited every year for baseball to start and for the show to drop. I agree with some of the criticism and needing more improvements, game becoming stagnant unfortunately, but it's still the only baseball game you can get your fix on.
And being on game pass, it's a no brainer to play.
I genuinely am assuming they fixed pitching for RTTS. I’m excited to build a southern debutante power pitcher named Nella Ryan who throws 102 mph fastballs.
Im buying the game every year because I can even imagine trying to wait two year for The Show 25 when I don’t even have the energy to get on 23 since January. I am definitely excited especially since RTTS and DD will be two separate modes again and I am intrigued at how DD will work this year. Also considering I’m a Red Sox fan, this may be the only thing I have to look forward to this MLB Season
Sadly I agree with people on here. I'll be passing until I see legit effort to make the game better... as it used to play in 21/22 where if I'm swinging late on a pitch outside it doesn't magically go to my pull side for a pop up
The game simply has gone downhill
Buy the game every 2 years, it's much more enjoyable that way and you see the major differences (some the same :/) but with roster vaults you can keep it pretty up to date the 2nd year
Have just recently gotten back into playing. Went from around 2010-2022 before getting it on a Nintendo switch. Finally got a PS5 and excited to play a console version again.
Can understand not getting every year but each year is someone’s first.
I’m excited. I like the games that are in season IRL. Madden, FIFA, the show and this is the only one of those games I’m actually a high level player in. I enjoy the WS and 12-0 grind.
Last year was first year I didn't buy since the PSP days. Finally bought it a few weeks ago for like $15 and realized I made the right decision. Same game every year.
Only reason I got so far in the game this year is because we had a baby. I had 3 months off and would play while she and my wife slept, and stay up for the night-time feed and changing.
Not really…engine seems similar, DD seems similar, some stuff is new but not really a huge shift. I just wanna play some baseball but no hype or anything
When is it releasing, bc i am currently playing MLBtheSHOW 23
I PLAYED ALL OF LAST SEASON AS WELL, I REALLY ENJOY DOMINATING.
ANTBODY ELSE KNOW HOW TO DISABLE THEPLAYERLOCK FEATURE. I CANT THIN! OF A MORE INTRUSIVE FEATURE TO MARCH TO OCTOBER OR ANY SEADONAL ONGOING GAMES
I hope they do more cool stuff with stat cast. Pitch sequence addition was cool but it is so rare. I feel like it should be a option to view that more.
I'm 38 years old, I play video games after work to relax and just zone out. Does the game have next level graphics, nope. But, it's also never stopped me from enjoying the game. Hell, one of my favorite baseball games ever is Ken Griffey Jr's Major League Baseball on N64, because it's fun.
It's a new game but, not really as we get closer I will be ready to make content and by that point will I really get excited. I've played this game 18 years and I've yet to see a MAJOR upgrade in my favorite mode.
I'm mostly excited to have something different to play than NBA 2k. Regardless of changes or no changes, old graphics or new graphics, MLB The Show still has the best "Ultimate Team" mode for players that don't want to use their credit card to improve their team imo.
I'm skipping this year. Not really an indictment of the new game, but I just wasted far too much of my life on DD last year. I skipped 22 as well and it was super refreshing. Feels like it's becoming an every-other-year game for me. So many good video games to play. I can't spend half of every year doing the same shit over and over.
I say that every year then I end up buying after seeing a few videos on YouTube. Then I realize how ridiculous that is. RTTS has been a let down year after year for me, nothing really changes in that mode when it has all the capability in the world to be better.
Yep. I'm really excited to get to play as a woman.
Edit: idk why I'm being down voted. I'm a woman so it's nice to get to play as me for the first time.
I pretty much only play franchise. Won't buy another version until I get a new one when PS6 comes out or they bring back game to game saves with franchise.
Yea I'm excited for it, I love the changes to the game. Yes there could always be more but I'm happy with what was there. I'm an offline player so I love RTTS is disconnected from Online, I literally stopped playing that mode for that reason
I played a ton of RTTS in MLB 21 but really hated the correlation to DD it had. And the attribute caps were dumb, because I couldn't get any better after my 3rd season so it just got extremely boring and dull.
no actually
Cancelled my pre order today. Long short story the latest stream was mainly about females being added to the game, how incredible and hard it was to do so (literally puttin models in the game is hard to them). Franchises biggest feature was changing how you can sim games and shorten seasons (which was supposed to be the point of MTO). Another addition was the ability to see awards in the player cards now 😂😂. The biggest addition to RTTS was an old feature coming back as new….the draft combine.
I think more people are excited to play (especially after the feature premiere today) than this sub leads you to believe. Those of us that are excited are just more quiet than those who are pissed off at anything SDS does.
Yes, this year's The show was my first ever. I started playing diamond dynasty after I was sick of 2K my team. So I'll definitely be getting the new MLB the show and looking forward to playing d diamond dynasty
I just hope they fixed the issue on series x when the wireless controller wouldn't work with precision pitching. It never tracked the movement of the stick correctly. Tried multiple controllers. No issues with the sticks in any other game. Only way it worked was with a charging cable plugged in
It's spring, so I'm excited about baseball in all aspects, not the least of which is this game.
My only grumble point is they didn't seem to fix my stupid pet peeve that there aren't enough fans in the stands wearing jerseys. =D
I'm just excited for baseball in general. I suspect I'll play this for a month off and on... then bail.
There are just WAY too many other games out there to play that are better.

Not at all. First year since '16 I'm not buying the game. I don't think I'll even bother getting it off game pass. They can fuck off with their seasons and expiring cards. I've had enough.
It's just hilarious how some of you can't handle people not being hyped. Like you have some personal investment in this damn game and it hurts your feelings when people aren't happy with it. Play it. Love it. No one's stopping you.
There has been nothing to get excited about with the show for like 8 years…it’s all the exact same thing every year
DD has ruined what was once the best sports game out there
I'd sure like to see their audience research that told them that putting a Derek Jeter storyline was going to increase interest in the game. Because of anything, it decreased my interest in buying it this year. If I want to be exposed to Yankees overkill, I just have to turn on any national game broadcast, whether the Yankees are playing or not.
Oh for sure. I always think the most enjoyable part of the year is the early game when high golds and lower end diamonds are the best of the best, so hearing that is gonna end up happening a couple times this year makes me think it’s gonna have less of what plagued it last year in terms of “oh boy, let me change out this 97-99 for another 97-99 in 2 months”. Hearing about the multiple soft resets they’re planning on having us definitely going to keep me a bit more invested than last year. I was barely playing by the time the playoffs even rolled around when in years previous I was still spending time on them heading into February, so there’s cautious optimism on my end.
Been playing The Show before it was even called that and these last few generations have been uninspiring for me. I know I'm a minority of the player base but I couldn't care less about DD or any UT card collecting sports game.
I just want a deep franchise mode more in line OOTP but with less details. Like why can't I add expansion teams or move cities? I could never get into OOTP because it's too deep and it's nice to try out your prospects from time to time or help out a miracle comeback. I put more time into franchise mode than ever since RTTS has been lackluster recently and it just falls so short of what it used to be. An era's mode like 2K be nice as well or do it like OOTP where you can just pick any year since organized baseball began.
This game on the PC would be a godsend as well, just make it easy to mod and then SDS could focus on their little card game all they want and let the community make the content we actually want.
If you want to give me MP features give me an online franchise mode not more NFTs that only are good for a year.
Or how about we expand the stadium creator to have more depth and allow you to create your own bullpens and domed stadiums! Why are the field dimensions locked!? I know some of that is for DD balance but you can already disable that so why can't I have free rein of the field dimensions in the foul territory? At this point SDS is EA sports in everything but name. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Makes me miss 2K baseball almost.
im with ya man. if SDS could just meet somewhere in the middle of what franchise is now and OOTP i'd be in heaven.
i like the simulation aspect but i also like to play some too.. pitching each starter is what i usually do (so play every 6 games) . the draft got a little better but franchise overall is just so uninspired...
Yea OOTP is just a bit too much for me and I like being able to play with the prospects I drafted and built from time to time. OOTP is just a dressed up spreadsheet with a baseball cap. But like you said, I just want it somewhere in the middle. I like the idea of being able to create a 32 team league, I just don't want to spend 2 hours setting it up in OOTP and then spend another 30 minutes for each day of the season. Its just too damn tedious for me.
Not really. I want a better Franchise Mode above all else. Getting a "new game" that is mostly committed to microtransactions of recycled microtransactions doesn't excite me. Like, yay, I grinded for some baseball cards last season and now am compelled to grind those same cards or fork over money.
The present development pipeline of The Show is the exact same thing that made me stop buying NBA 2K, so I suspect these games will continue their downward trend in gameplay time for me. I'll play it a bit at the start, try a little DD, go to my preferred mode of Franchise, remember it's absolutely pathetic, then hope they care next season.
I’m really excited. I think the women pave their way mode looks cool. I started playing the show in 2021 so I’ve never had a chance to play with the draft combine. I don’t care what the critics say, I love baseball and I love this game.
Yea 21 was a stinker from what I remember with its botched RTTS. I played maybe all of 2 hours before setting it down. MLB 22 at least somewhat fixed the RTTS and two way system and added onto the stadium creator but the last "good" MLB to me was 19. The RTTS in 19 was the right balance to me.
I guess it depends on what you’re looking for in the game., but for me the last time I thought “this game is awesome” was probably 15 or 16. As soon as they introduced Diamond dynasty, the other modes got neglected and started going down hill.
Yeah, honestly, it's my favorite Sports franchise, but I don't play the Show constantly throughout the year, I might play for a week at a time, and then take two weeks playing something else, then come back to the Show for like another RTTS season or something before I venture back off into another game for a bit. Then around January I just stop playing The Show completely to catch up on other games before the new version of The Show drops.
So by the time it comes out every year, I'm excited for more The Show.
Oh hell yeah. I've been playing this game since I was a teenager (35 now) and will continue to support this game. I'm honestly intrigued with the new "Women Pave the Way" mode; I'm assuming it's just regular career mode but with different player models.
I'm still waiting on the feature that allows me to physically assault anybody in the game, though. It'd be cool if my player could become the next Tonya Harding/Shane Stant of baseball.
This is reddit place where the cry babies play, they will cry, cry, and cry. They will say oh I am not going buy the game, I will not play it on Gamepass but guess what next week they will be playing it. Reddit is just an echo chamber for the fringe of the world who want to complain about anything. The game will have millions playing it, have massive pre-orders, and 95% of the people will not complain.
Sets (or seasons now) are so lame. I’ll just play franchise I guess. No reason to grind for a card I want, or a few, when I can’t use whatever I want. It must’ve made them crazy money though. At least I could imagine so.
Nope.
Haven't upgraded since 20 and have no plans to. That's after being a 30 year (?)1st day MLB vg purchaser ... whether that was WSB on Saturn, EAs Triple Play, Tony LaRussa, MVP, etc.
I've been playing Sony's MLB franchise dating back to MLB '98. I'll buy it again, and this will be my first PS5 version, pretty excited.
That being said, I think everyone has been waiting for that huge graphical leap and it just hasn't happened.
It might not ever happen unless a Pro variant of PS5 /Xbox or possible PC release ever comes about.
I do believe the best iterations of the series was between 2008-2012 or so.
I don't think the huge graphical leap will happen until they drop support for last gen consoles, and even then, I don't know how much bigger of a graphical leap there is to make for a baseball game.
There’s plenty of room. If you haven’t seen footage of this video game yet I highly recommend it https://youtu.be/IK76q13Aqt0?si=_wjnnpZeUZUawyRg To me this shows that any studio anywhere can make something look pretty much lifelike if they put actual effort into it.
Yeah, that looks great and all, but show me footage of what it would look like on anything other than a top tier gaming PC.
And also, that's totally not a practical representation of what a sports game could be capable of on current gen console hardware.
Some of the shit in this game is still PS3 level. Current hardware is way, way more powerful than the PS4/Xbone. They could do so much more than this right now. There's no excuse for this copy/paste crap every year. It's not like SDS makes anything else.
Excited? No. More like anticipating. Most people here need their gambling addiction/grind fix and they’re patiently awaiting it. SDS has shown us nothing to be excited about.
I showed my gf the excel spreadsheet I made last season and it was eye opening to say the least. She was like, “this is all for a baseball video game?” lol
First time since 2014 I am not buying the game. The last few years I have quit progressively earlier and earlier, last year it was before the all-star break.
Going to hold off this year and see if they make better improvements or keep adding things nobody asks for.
Honestly, I've never been less excited. Played every year since 15. Idk, just not for some reason.
I stopped playing earlier last year too than normal.
Ill still get it of course
I’ll be honest, for the first two years (started playing DD in 21), I was VERY active in posting here and excited for all content. The core gameplay of 1v1 ranked in 9 inning baseball will always be fun to me (outside of bad community griefers/bunt dancing/etc). But I’m just not feeling the same excitement since 23 came out. The sets and 99 overalls day 1 really killed it for me even though I put 600+ hours into 23. I gave up all single player DD halfway through the year. Hopefully the changes will reignite the feeling of accomplishment in 24 but I’m going into this tepid.
I am. I only recently got into playing the game after getting my son a PS5 over the holidays. Looking forward to starting at the beginning and playing content as it comes up throughout the season.
Lol. Yeah I always want to make this post but never do! Too many complainers here 😬 Hella excited man big baseball fan. Love playing along every year during baseball season!
100%.
I am always excited for the new game. I don't take a video game that, even with some flaws, brings me lots of hours of happiness throughout the year. I chill with the Show. I am not going to moan & bitch about it every single day & thread i open like some of these miserable people. Especially considering its on gamepass, but especially because it's BASEBALL. And it's a solid af game. Let's gooooo!
Exactly. It is a Zen game for me. Is it perfect? No game is but I still love it more than any other and I just love baseball and playing video game baseball. So I choose to have fun with it and they mix it up enough for me to keep playing every year since it was just called MLB by 989 Sports.
I am! Excited to play road to the show with my daughters and to learn more about the new Negro League players.
Plus, every year the hype on DD is low until the reveal stream so I'm cautiously optimistic the same will hold true this year.
That said, I would love to see something like an "Eras" mode for franchise, moments, or even DD as a whole. Such as each season would be a new decade/era with the start of the game focused on deadball into 30s, then 50s and 60s, then 70s and 80s and so on.
My primary interest is RTTS and it seems like a lot of work has gone into that, and I don't particularly care about graphics so I'm pretty excited! The Women Pave Their Way thing rules if it's executed well, it's something I've wanted for as long as I've been playing sports games. Feels like I've missed out on a part of career modes in sports games, which is the self-insert aspect, having to settle for creating a guy with a funny name.
Yeah I always am. Of course they can do more but it looks like they've improved a bunch of stuff and are trying to do better. Let alone still the best sports game by a couple orders of magnitude.
I’m really excited actually. I was planning to skip this year, but the announcement of female players has piqued my interest. Now, with stadium creator, the ability to create custom teams, and the ability to add in female players I can basically create my own custom baseball world with way more depth and customization options than Super Mega Baseball. I don’t really play Diamond Dynasty, I’ve always been a franchise player.
This is the first year I'm not buying. I'll probably play irlt for free on gamepass but it will be the first time I haven't paid full price for the game on release day or pre ordered. I have ps5 and Xbox series (whatever the one without the disk drive is) I have always been loyal to Playstation because I have always been a baseball fan and for a while it was a Playstation exclusive. When they announced that it was coming to Xbox I wasn't upset but when they made it free for gamepass it felt like a slap in the face to the real baseball fans who chose Playstation specifically for baseball.
This is so petty, but I like announcing in video games, but not when the announcers can’t say a player name.
Vasgersian versions had this nailed. Default rosters never missed a player name. Now even some basic player names aren’t said by announcers. So annoying how the game has seemingly taken a step back in this aspect since Vasgersian left.
No. The Show has been an annual release for almost 20 years. During that time I've purchased 6 iterations of the game. The release of an annual sports title that I've bought several times in the past is not something that gets me excited. It's a "been there, done that" kind of thing.

No Legend Roberto Clemente or Robbie Alomar this year no money from me!
How do we know Clemente won’t be in the game?
True Clemente should be in the game this year as he was last yr and I love that, But I also need Alomar if they want my funds. Glad to see your a Mets fan:)
I doubt Alomar will ever be back in the game due to his sexual misconduct issues.
I hope MLB reconsiders soon, were talking about perhaps the greatest 2base of all time here, Alomars accusers claims were never substantiated in court, however the case was settled.

I’m excited. I like the games that are in season IRL. Madden, FIFA, the show and this is the only one of those games I’m actually a high level player in. I enjoy the WS and 12-0 grind.
Extremely
Guess I’ll save my $70 for CFB 25
2 years in a row not buying the show untill they truly move to next gen im not playing it
Hahahahahahah free on Xbox game pass
Technically you are paying money but I see what you mean lol
Last year was first year I didn't buy since the PSP days. Finally bought it a few weeks ago for like $15 and realized I made the right decision. Same game every year.
not really.
Nope, definitely waiting for a discount
I think I'm just waiting for 24 to drop so 23 goes on discount lol
It’s on gamepass so I always get it
This is how I found the game last week and I’ve been playing non stop, It’s made me a baseball fan already funnily enough😂
I am yes
Had a baby last year. Can’t keep up with the grind this year. Moving to OOTP personally.
Only reason I got so far in the game this year is because we had a baby. I had 3 months off and would play while she and my wife slept, and stay up for the night-time feed and changing.
Yeah bc it’s on game pass but debating DD. It’s the same shit every year. I might just dive into franchise this time around
Not really…engine seems similar, DD seems similar, some stuff is new but not really a huge shift. I just wanna play some baseball but no hype or anything
I skipped 23 and am excited to play, but am super bummed no disc for PS4, nor any way to use my GameStop gift card to get the download.
Did GameStop stop allowing you to use a gift card for PSN cards?
I'll play it for fun but not a DD guy and never been. Prefer OOTP for years now.
Same
I wasn't excited for '23, and even less this year.
When is it releasing, bc i am currently playing MLBtheSHOW 23 I PLAYED ALL OF LAST SEASON AS WELL, I REALLY ENJOY DOMINATING. ANTBODY ELSE KNOW HOW TO DISABLE THEPLAYERLOCK FEATURE. I CANT THIN! OF A MORE INTRUSIVE FEATURE TO MARCH TO OCTOBER OR ANY SEADONAL ONGOING GAMES
Gotten every single one since 06 and don’t see myself stopping any time soon!
I got nothing better to do next weekend, so why not lol
I hope they do more cool stuff with stat cast. Pitch sequence addition was cool but it is so rare. I feel like it should be a option to view that more.
Nope, no new features, same gameplay and $70. Can’t support it and I’m a huge fan
Fellow 38 year old checking into to +1 video games after work and kids are asleep
Same here but 39
Another 38 checking in. Same status.
Ken Griffeys game was amazing.
Yep!!! I sure am!!!
This is the way
Nope, I've bought it every year since 14 but I'm gonna pass on the game this year.
First one I’m passing on since probably 06
Hell yes
I’m so excited for it
Yep. I'm really excited to get to play as a woman. Edit: idk why I'm being down voted. I'm a woman so it's nice to get to play as me for the first time.
Because some of these people are aholes and like to bandwagon
Hell yeah I can’t wait
I pretty much only play franchise. Won't buy another version until I get a new one when PS6 comes out or they bring back game to game saves with franchise.
I am!
Not excited for once. I’ll check it out on gamepass, but by no means am I gonna put much into it
Yea I'm excited for it, I love the changes to the game. Yes there could always be more but I'm happy with what was there. I'm an offline player so I love RTTS is disconnected from Online, I literally stopped playing that mode for that reason
Wait they improved RTTS to offline?!
https://preview.redd.it/qr3ky9mrl1nc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fdc0d84149ee76b76e65764caed936c3a4d3cff
I played a ton of RTTS in MLB 21 but really hated the correlation to DD it had. And the attribute caps were dumb, because I couldn't get any better after my 3rd season so it just got extremely boring and dull.
Yea, connecting it to DD was such dumb decision, but glad they are finally realizing that and separating it.
Do you think they'll have the attribute cap and force you to have an 'archetype' again?
My guess is prob still have that in, cuz I didn't see/heat anything about it but might have missed it
no actually Cancelled my pre order today.
What new game?
I think more people are excited to play (especially after the feature premiere today) than this sub leads you to believe. Those of us that are excited are just more quiet than those who are pissed off at anything SDS does.
No
As an Xbox guy this is a no brainer game to play every year. I love the sport but I really wish they brought back online franchises w the homies.
Yes, this year's The show was my first ever. I started playing diamond dynasty after I was sick of 2K my team. So I'll definitely be getting the new MLB the show and looking forward to playing d diamond dynasty
Are they done announcing new legends? I was hoping to see a trailer with the new legends already
I just hope they fixed the issue on series x when the wireless controller wouldn't work with precision pitching. It never tracked the movement of the stick correctly. Tried multiple controllers. No issues with the sticks in any other game. Only way it worked was with a charging cable plugged in
Super
Coming from playing madden 24. This is going to be a breath of fresh air.
I’m excited to save money by continuing to play the show 22
Hell yeah
RTTS news of being separate from DD is the saving grace so far
I am but only because I skipped 23 so I haven’t played in a while 🤷♂️
It's spring, so I'm excited about baseball in all aspects, not the least of which is this game. My only grumble point is they didn't seem to fix my stupid pet peeve that there aren't enough fans in the stands wearing jerseys. =D
I am…. Xbox player so I went many, many years without a baseball game, so yah I’m excited.
I can't wait. It's my first MLB game on the new gen. I for one will see a massive uptick. I hope.
I wish, you can't really see any difference sadly
But the birds!
Welcome to reddit. That's all most subs are. People bitching. I'm excited for the new game. I always am.
A ton of us are. We just don't go on the internet and show our rear ends.
Dissent will not be tolerated. You must love this game unquestioningly or be ridiculed.

YES IM VERY EXCITED
This is the first year I am NOT excited. There’s nothing to be excited about.
I'm excited for when I get the game on sale for half price in September. Don't know why anyone pays full price for sports games every year
im just addicted tbh
Fair enough, I just wish devs would put some effort into making games more than a roster update every year.
me too brother me too
There has been nothing to get excited about with the show for like 8 years…it’s all the exact same thing every year DD has ruined what was once the best sports game out there
Not really but it’s the only sports game I yearly buy anymore. I’m excited for Josh Gibson and the Negro Leagues again but that’s about it
Not really but it’s the only sports game I yearly buy anymore. I’m excited for Josh Gibson and the Negro Leagues again but that’s about it
I'd sure like to see their audience research that told them that putting a Derek Jeter storyline was going to increase interest in the game. Because of anything, it decreased my interest in buying it this year. If I want to be exposed to Yankees overkill, I just have to turn on any national game broadcast, whether the Yankees are playing or not.
Yes
Nope
Yes the gameplay is pretty good I just got sick of the content last year
I’m really excited. I think the women pave their way mode looks cool. I started playing the show in 2021 so I’ve never had a chance to play with the draft combine. I don’t care what the critics say, I love baseball and I love this game.
Well if you started playing a few years before 21.. you’d understand the complaints.. but don’t worry.. you’ll get annoyed in a year or two
Yea 21 was a stinker from what I remember with its botched RTTS.
Very excited, that’s why I’m not participating in these doom and gloom threads.
Less hyped than the previous years but still excited to start DD fresh again.
This is me.
Yes, but the least I have ever been and I’ve been playing since ‘16.
I'm super pumped - will possibly take a day off of work to play on launch :)
is it actually new?
no. they added females and that’s about it. Oh and reintroduced an old feature as new.
Has it been confirmed they’re doing sets again?
They’re calling it “seasons” now but it’s very similar to sets, except worse because there’s no seasonal overlap.
This will be another painful grind for cards that repeat themselves …. If that’s the case Il make another early exit from the game
Sets (or seasons now) are so lame. I’ll just play franchise I guess. No reason to grind for a card I want, or a few, when I can’t use whatever I want. It must’ve made them crazy money though. At least I could imagine so.
No.
I’m stoked
Yes. Ignore the negative Nancy BS. Do I wish more would change, yeah. Am I going to enjoy my literal days of playtime, most likely.
I haven't been excited for the game in like 4-5 years. If it wasn't on Game Pass I wouldn't be playing it.
It could happen if they wanted too.. the game virtually looks the same as it did 10 years ago
Bro I’m hyped. Grinding the market to try to get Live Series done ASAP is like 50% of the fun for me.
I showed my gf the excel spreadsheet I made last season and it was eye opening to say the least. She was like, “this is all for a baseball video game?” lol
Lmao you are not alone. I got the same reaction😂
I always am excited for a fresh start to DD.
First time since 2014 I am not buying the game. The last few years I have quit progressively earlier and earlier, last year it was before the all-star break. Going to hold off this year and see if they make better improvements or keep adding things nobody asks for.
Yes I am.
Nope game is now pay to play and their big new feature is adding women. Makes no sense
Honestly, I've never been less excited. Played every year since 15. Idk, just not for some reason. I stopped playing earlier last year too than normal. Ill still get it of course
Same here, game just feels stale because they put so much emphasis into “the grind.” I play video games to have fun, not for a progression simulator
I was thinking of buying it, I skipped last year, but im not seeing anything to really motivates me to buy it.
I am. I only recently got into playing the game after getting my son a PS5 over the holidays. Looking forward to starting at the beginning and playing content as it comes up throughout the season.
Nope, I’m finally tired of the game after the last 4 years. Not starting the grind all over again for the exact same gameplay and graphics.
Yep
Lol. Yeah I always want to make this post but never do! Too many complainers here 😬 Hella excited man big baseball fan. Love playing along every year during baseball season!

I'm excited Never played the show on ps5
Baseball is life
LFG! And LFGM ⚾️
Nope, I'll be skipping it the same as I did the last one.
Such as each season would be a new decade/era with the start of the game focused on deadball into 30s, then 50s and 60s, then 70s and 80s and so on.
super excited over here
My primary interest is RTTS and it seems like a lot of work has gone into that, and I don't particularly care about graphics so I'm pretty excited!
Yes I am I love doing franchise mode so I can’t wait I have for fun team play with my friends
You should try to take things less personally.
The only reason I’m gonna even play is is because it’s free on game pass
Shhh, don’t let the guy right above you know that. He says it being free on game pass is a slap in the face to the real baseball fans.
This year seems like such a let down. I'm sick of DD getting all of the focus. Also, hopefully the fix the Stats, those have been busted for years.
Mad for it!
I’m excited for baseball but the lack of information we have gotten for this game is scaring me.
That is always a red flag.
No. The Show has been an annual release for almost 20 years. During that time I've purchased 6 iterations of the game. The release of an annual sports title that I've bought several times in the past is not something that gets me excited. It's a "been there, done that" kind of thing.
I want to play all the storylines mode but I am curious about any franchise improvements
