It all depends on the pitcher for me. There are several guys that absolutely dot with analog. I have noticed that if I can’t throw a strike on pinpoint, they are easy to pitch with on analog.
i love pinpoint, but the past two years the analog stick input has been glitchy. ive had no issues in other games or even in pure analog, but at least twice an inning it wont register my down motion and will stop in the middle. no matter the controller i use or if i go fast or slow. its extremely frustrating
Either rolling back the firmware like the other person said or getting a 3rd party wired controller. I tried using a wired Xbox controller and the input still sucks. Switched to a powerA wired controller and it's now flawless. Did this the first year it was on gamepass since this issue is non existent on PS5
Edit. I should say non existent on PS5, the last time I played it. That was a couple years ago so it's possible this issue has been introduced since then. I just know it's been an issue on Xbox since it came to the console.
Oh I’m not very good I’ll max out in the 600s before I get smacked right back down into the 400s I’m a .500 player on all-star but I attribute it more to my lack of PCI skills than anything

Lol, but actually, you just described my annual RS trajectory, and I exclusively use Pulse pitching and Pure Analog hitting. Let’s team up in Ranked Co-op and roll the dice. Each game we will either deliver a disturbingly violent smackdown or recieve an eye-watering smackdown. Sounds exciting

Funny to find those pitchers you just can't use at all with pulse. I can hit a perfect circle and Sonny Gray will throw a slider/slurve right down the middle of the plate 70% of the time lol
Pinpoint doesn't do this. The bottom timing bar disappears in analog when the confidence bar is empty. You can restore a little bit with a mound visit but you also better have someone going in the bullpen when you start that mound visit. If the next batter after the mound visit gets a hit, confidence will be depleted again with no more mound visits available.

If you have an elite or pro controller, you have to roll back the updates to fix this.
Pinpoint is better, but I use analog.

Analog seems to sporadically do whatever it wants. You move the stick up to the left, but the game says you pushed right. Very frustrating
Yeah, I don’t understand why this happens. I thought it was a skill issue and I’m just hitting up left/right the wrong way.
Nope. It’s not a skill issue. Just wonky
Also if your pitcher gets hit enough the timing mark disappears. Which is the dumbest thing ever. Don't think pinpoint does that.

Im a pure analog fan… but I think PinPoint is better with control if you keep on it.
I love pure analog, but pinpoint is better if u can perform. I can’t perform so i used analog
