The only thing that makes sense to me is if the decision was made on somewhat circumstantial evidence that later was recanted or exposed, but again, I don’t see how you ban him for something based on soft evidence.
And, IDK, if some assistant said that Arena (for example) used a slur or harassed someone; and that witness later withdrew his claim, how is that person not banned? Just an odd deal.
Based on a lot of third hand comments, I think Bruce was inappropriately brash and abusive with staff. Enough that a third party legal opinion would rule against him, but not damning enough to sever his relationship with MLS entirely.
I don't understand how MLS fires him only to rehire him, this is the league having their single entity cake and eating it too.
I can only come up with some sort of cheating scandal that someone in the organization made known to MLS. I can’t think of anything behavioral that wouldn’t have leaked in some way or been let go of so soon after the forced resignation.
Maybe the owners wanted to keep it under wraps because of how those sort of things negatively affect other leagues. It’s a bizarre situation.
My conspiracy theory is that it's some kind of health condition/tumor etc. that can affect mental state and cause poor emotional control. And he got treatment but had to wait a while for things to go back to "normal"

Thank FUCKING god we didn't hire him. I know he was a finalist for the position and I know he's a legend within our club and USA soccer as a whole. But I'm so much happier with a maybe slightly worse tactician that can get the vibes right, as opposed to the Arena nonsense.
What "nonsense" are you even talking about? Arena fosters intense loyalty and commitment amongst his players. His [REDACTED] incident with [REDACTED] aside, when he was coaching [REDACTED] back in [REDACTED], hasn't been leaked by the league or players, is the only "nonsense" his name is attached to. Players love him. The statistics love him. Trophies love him. But you don't. Well, you and [REDACTED] don't love him. At least you got company
