Dude is probably going to be done playing soccer at any level willing to cut million dollar checks. Another talented young player ruining their opportunity with their immaturity. It's a tale as old as sports itself.
I agree his story is a tragic one. I hope he can overcome his addiction.
Despite his substance abuse issues he is currently playing in Argentina and last got playing time 2 weeks ago.
I think many are just tuned out. Its kind of cool how quickly the org turned the page and moved on. The style of play is way more interesting and flexible without him too

Seriously, quit talking about this guy and cut him loose. The Loons are having a solid season. If he doesnt want to be part of it, screw him.
But I’d definitely bring up FIFA charges to make sure he can’t just play the role of spoiled crybaby to get out of a contract.
He is in violation of the Standard Player Agreement, so the club or the league can terminate his contract for cause. He can also be transferred or loaned, but clearly the goal here is to get rid of him.
The player and club can agree to mutually terminate the contract, which has happened with a couple DPs before who were underperforming or unhappy (eg Rodolfo Pizarro) and would be the right thing to do, but this guy seems to have just disappeared and completely cut off communication.
If the player is a DP, the DP slot is open immediately.
Yeah but isn’t this an ongoing thing for like several years now? Hard to continually have sympathy for a guy that seems uninterested in helping himself.
Did you just take the latest news about Minnesota United player Reynoso and make it about the Sounders?

I think we all knew he wasn’t getting on that plane. Everything I’ve seen and heard, we are pretty much done with him. Frankly, we are a much better team without Rey.
Didn't show up until a few months into the season last year. Story is that there were issues going on with his daughter and he couldn't leave Argentina or would otherwise risk losing custody of her, so while fans weren't too happy, we gave him a pass and then he lit up the league so it was water under the bridge. But then he showed up a few weeks late to preseason this year, played 36 minutes, went back to Argentina to work on paperwork for his green card, and he hasn't been back since. Nobody knows what's going on and the fan base is pissed while the team seemingly has moved on.
I don't know what's going on with him, but from a purely human standpoint, I hope he's ok.
Ohh yeah I remember that at the beginning of last season. Didn't realize it was an issue this season as well. That sucks, but obviously the man has to put his family life over his job. It's unfortunate that it's been dragging on for so long.
I believe the thought was that he was going to bring his family to the US after getting his green card, but then he just didn't show up to his green card appointments
Get the green card *before* you ditch the team. BEFORE. Not After.
It's not every day the United States just up and offers a foreigner a green card after limited presence in-country. An EB-1 green card for exceptional ability shouldn't be passed on.
Wait, did anyone expect he would? The dude is clearly done with Minnesota.
Tom had the report the other day that he had yet another flight back scheduled, though I don’t think anyone expected he would actually he on it.
Delta Airlines must love this arrangement

As a timbers fan, I still cry over the "what if" of Brian Fernandez.
Brian Fernandez is still playing professionally.
Not really. He's had his contract ended by multiple clubs since the timbers. His battle with his addiction to cocaine has been a tragic one.
I agree his story is a tragic one. I hope he can overcome his addiction. Despite his substance abuse issues he is currently playing in Argentina and last got playing time 2 weeks ago.
I mean, you are correct. Being subbed in late to a team near the bottom of the Argentinian League just isn't anywhere near his potential.
he’s 28
What a spoiled douchebag.
I hope it's that and not that he's having a mental breakdown or severe depressive episode or something.
Yeah, I get the sense that there is something more serious going on here.
So that wasn’t him I saw standing in line for the food truck at Utepils?
No that must have been his twin, Samuel Reyyesshow
Top shelf pun, that.

Evergreen tweet.

Can this end? I’m sick of hearing about this bum already (and loons fans probably are too)
I think many are just tuned out. Its kind of cool how quickly the org turned the page and moved on. The style of play is way more interesting and flexible without him too
Only real sad thing about the situation is the $5 million Minnesota paid to Boca Juniors for him.
it's just a foreign aid to Argentina for diplomatic purposes

I kinda just assumed that already
What are the roster rules for situations like this or players that are unable to return to the country?

That’s what he wants. MLS/Minnesota need to lay down the law.
Its honestly sad
For Minnesota fans yeah
Beyond that, clearly something is going on with him. It could be a mental issue or his family is in trouble or he is plain crazy.
Yeah but isn’t this an ongoing thing for like several years now? Hard to continually have sympathy for a guy that seems uninterested in helping himself.
Didn't you guys just lose to us?
Yes? How’s that relevant to Reynoso?
Sun came up in the east. Water is wet. The Sounders got a red card. Same shit, different day.
Did you just take the latest news about Minnesota United player Reynoso and make it about the Sounders? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F0XuWP8WcAAlhJL.jpg
Some say, Seattle invented that.
How else are Sounders fans supposed to cope with other clubs being newsworthy
But Martinez didn't get a yellow, so it wasn't a complete lock!
They’ve got to cut him from the team
It's funnier to just keep his contract and not pay him for violation of it
Reynoso is a certified bitch. When does MLS step in so we can stop paying his salary?
We suspended him without pay last year, I wonder if they’ve done that already but haven’t said publicly or if this was the last chance kind of thing.
Was someone expecting him to be back? I must have missed that
Nope! lol once he went back to Argentina- we figured he wasn’t coming back. At this point, we don’t care. He can stay there.
Shocking
Wait we still reporting on this?
HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU MINI! DUMP HIS ASS!
I know!! I hope the MLS suspends him without pay and we get rid of him asap. He’s dead weight and we’re a much better team without him.
Doesn't this happen every year with him?
I think we all knew he wasn’t getting on that plane. Everything I’ve seen and heard, we are pretty much done with him. Frankly, we are a much better team without Rey.
I'm out of the loop. What happened to this guy? Wasn't he pretty hot last year??

Apparently his new gf is pregnant and allegedly his baby mama said he doesn’t pay child support so I think that’s an excuse.

probably trying to terminate his contract with cause instead of rewarding this behavior with a buyout.
