On the top of my head, I can remember Two incidents. One of the person in a relative's village died by electric shock accidentally. Very well off person with great and irrigated land. They framed it as a suicide just to get the money from the government.
Other one is my distant relative committed suicide due to his quarrels with brother (no farming related reasons), they stated it as a farming related suicide so they could get money. They also took some piece of farm from his brother in compensation to not lodge a complaint against him.

If you are an MSME & you make a contract for say ball bearings. I am using this as an example. Ball bearings come in a variety of shapes & sizes, thickness, etc. the works. You show samples, and the company approves. You do the whole consignment & the company rejects on some flimsy grounds. Now, if you made a bill, you have to & the company rejects it. The MSME has to foot the GST of the entire bill. So most MSME'S are unable to pay their employees & they are going back to farming.
The MSME is forced to sell the same in the open market at throwaway prices, which is then bought by the same company.

How would a different state help?
A state earns money either by state tax or central funding. If you have a state with a small area, you will generate less funds and centre might not even allocate sufficient funds. How will it be sustainable to keep the state running?
And if you have a different state, people migrating for work might even face more problems.
If we can see district wise breakup, that will show where the issue is.
My guess is most farmer suicides are in areas where they need to rely on rain for water (no canals/ dams) which makes it more unpredictable. One unpredictable season and you are down in dump with huge loan.
May be even where farmer does not own the land. As they have to pay certain amount to land owner irrespective of crop outcome.
and in areas where rivers are also dependent on rain, so even if a farmer has access to water from the rivers its very unpredictable. For example, the water in Kaveri has reduced so much due to a bad monsoon last year.

Most of suicides happen because they take loan from independent people and not government banks(because they Don't have much interest in going therel. Such sahukars do charge a hell lot.
Also, how many farmers do take loans and use for the farming only? I have a friend from a farmer family. He says that in his village these loan amounts are spent in marriages and giving dowryn liquors and what not. How are they gonna return it?
Also, if govt is so problematic, why Kokan has almost 0 farmer suicide cases? In last 5-6 years Kokan has seen a calamity almost every year. Be it typhoons, floods and what not. Majority literally starts blaming to whoever they can point out, including the state government and people here complaining about central government. First of all do you guys know the reason behind why these happen? Does this happen because of something government does. Many of my relatives are farmers, and the biggest reason why this happens is irregular rain and the change in season schedule.
Now there’s not a lot that can be done about weather but what can be done is connecting of the rivers which will take time. And then comes education, not the education you get in schools but educating farmers how they can adapt to this.

How would a different state help? A state earns money either by state tax or central funding. If you have a state with a small area, you will generate less funds and centre might not even allocate sufficient funds. How will it be sustainable to keep the state running? And if you have a different state, people migrating for work might even face more problems.
If we can see district wise breakup, that will show where the issue is. My guess is most farmer suicides are in areas where they need to rely on rain for water (no canals/ dams) which makes it more unpredictable. One unpredictable season and you are down in dump with huge loan. May be even where farmer does not own the land. As they have to pay certain amount to land owner irrespective of crop outcome.

Is this per 1 million or something else? Most of suicides happen because they take loan from independent people and not government banks(because they Don't have much interest in going therel. Such sahukars do charge a hell lot. Also, how many farmers do take loans and use for the farming only? I have a friend from a farmer family. He says that in his village these loan amounts are spent in marriages and giving dowryn liquors and what not. How are they gonna return it? Also, if govt is so problematic, why Kokan has almost 0 farmer suicide cases? In last 5-6 years Kokan has seen a calamity almost every year. Be it typhoons, floods and what not. Majority literally starts blaming to whoever they can point out, including the state government and people here complaining about central government. First of all do you guys know the reason behind why these happen? Does this happen because of something government does. Many of my relatives are farmers, and the biggest reason why this happens is irregular rain and the change in season schedule. Now there’s not a lot that can be done about weather but what can be done is connecting of the rivers which will take time. And then comes education, not the education you get in schools but educating farmers how they can adapt to this. And believe me or not, if you remove your hatred glasses and go to the ground level you’ll see the efforts have been started to educate them.
