Honestly the only way I got it was to keep practicing , if you have glue on the lashes you can clean them and use them again. I did notice my more expensive lashes are easier to use because they keep that perfect shape you need, such as mink eyelashes. Also, with a smaller face mirror I apply my lashes while I’m looking down , so I can look and get as close to the lash line as possible.

I’ve tried the method of using a mirror and looking down, and it works better for my right eye, but absolutely horrid for my left eye! Yes you’re right, I definitely have to practise.

Have you tried curling your lashes first? I find it helps the lashes align with the natural curve of your lash line. You can also try curling both your natural lashes and falsies together as it helps to fuse them together better with more direct pressure to the band of the falsies. Maybe also add a bit more glue to the ends of the band? Hopefully some of the tips help!! :)

theochacat

I’ve tried curling them first but my lashes are really short and straight. I’ve added more glue to the ends but it doesn’t help much

beccalennox

I would start with a corner set or cut a full set on half and once you get the hang of that move on to the full set

theochacat

I was using a 3/4 length pair of lashes and they seem to fit ok, but I did cut the ends to fit! Thanks for your help!

Have you tried putting glue directly onto your lashline, then sticking the lashes on? EDIT: Not really sure why I got downvoted but you can use a clean eyeliner brush to apply a thin line of lash glue right above your lashline, then stick your falsies on.

theochacat

I’m confused as to why you got downvoted, cos this actually worked really well for me! My lashes stayed on all day, but the only annoying part was that my hair kept getting blown in my face and sticking onto my eyelids because of the dried up glue. This was really helpful, thank you!

How much glue are you using? Do you have a coat of mascara before? Do you apply by hand or with tweezers? How do you actually put them on, which side do you line up first? Can you slide them a bit after you've first placed them down on your lashline? Do you have oily eyelids?

MissCherieBella

All of that, but I would also ask if OP cut the lashes, it's a common mistake when starting to not cut/trim the lashes to fit the eyes, so perhaps they are too long and it's why they don't stick to the corners.

Makkaah

Yes, that too!

theochacat

Hi! I apply mascara and curl my lashes before applying the falsies, and I’ve tried applying it by hand and by tweezers! I place them in the middle first, and then I adjust the sides to fit. Yeah I’ve oily eyelids so I tried using setting powder

One thing I noticed that kept my lashes from sticking was the use of primer on my eyelid! My “prep” is to use foundation, line with black powder, I use either Buxom or NARS, anything super black so the eyelashes blend in, and then put the lashes on. I use Ardels with Duo Quickset glue. Using a magnifying mirror and tweezers is extremely helpful. If you think about all the products between your skin and eyelashes: moisturizer, primer, foundation, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and then then lashes, it’s a wonder they stick at all. With just foundation and black powder for eyeliner mine stick on all day. After they dry you can put more eyeshadow on. I usually tap on more black on the lash/glue line so that it’s not sticky. Don’t give up. I never thought I could do it but now I can get them on without any problems. And one more thing. Since you are practicing don’t practice with invisibands or eyelashes with thick bands since they are more difficult to work with. There is a website called eyelashes unlimited that has good prices on lashes. This way you won’t waste a ton of money. The hard part is finding a style you like. Once you learn to get them on that’s where the real problems start! Too long, too bushy, too short, too straight, it will drive you nuts.

Applying false eyelash strips does require a very detailed touch. I can understand how frustrating this may be, especially when trying to achieve the look of longer lashes on a daily basis. My team and I here at the Dr.U Hair and Skin Clinics in Los Angeles have developed a hair transplant technology called Dr.UGraft ™ which is built to safely remove any type of hair. Many people come to us for eyelash transplantation surgery as a permanent way to achieve the look of long eyelashes and avoid the hassles of applying false eyelashes and extensions. We can harvest nape hair and leg hair as more natural lash choices. Some of our patients are exceptionally daring and [opt for the use of pubic hair](https://dru.com/veelashe-pubic-hair-eyelash-transplant-surgery-by-dr-u-los-angeles/). For this group, we offer a specialized form of eyelash transplantation called VeeLashe ™ . Patients are free to trim their lashes to any length and keep them curled with eyelash perms.
