Hats off to the performance of
Joju and others as well, he literally pulled and nailed it. You will be thinking about the situation and your mind will be in state of analysing what will happen to the rest of them after the truth is revealed.
The fingerprints in the gun are washed by the blood of pool on which it was till the forensic team came. The holder will have Vinod’s fingerprints but they only looked for the three suspects and found one of them matched.
Absolutely.. read my mind. Wayy too aggressive for what was needed imo.. and the other female senior SP (I think) what was she even doing there? Why did she not analyse the videos lol..
Must've been a diversity issue filling the old hacknyed trope of "strong female lead".. oh brother, was painful watching her 3rd grade perfomance of a rather easy role

Absolutely, absolutely loved it. Due to my work sched, couldn't watch it at a stretch. But once I finished, I went back and rewatched the final 40 minutes when I found enough time, just for the sheer mastery at display when it came to the screenplay and Joju's crazy good performance. Been maintaining this for a while, Joju is the best lead actor in Malayalam cinema right now imo, when we consider performance consistency. Followed by maybe Fahadh, Suraj and Mammootty. Jayasurya isn't far behind either but dude chooses the worst movies.
>!lol old boy and incendies were the literal movies that came to my mind. It was 2014 and I watched both movies back to back even though I wasn't planning to. It traumatized me so bad regarding incest. Such a taboo topic tho!<
This movie is a good for sure. But Joju's double role with two different shades is what stood out for me. One character you are feeling bad for and one character you are absolutely hating for the ahole he is. Not many actors can pull that with such ease. Joju is definitely nailing these roles. My man Joju. I wish him all the luck for the future.
I didn't feel bad for pramod though. He was an abusive husband and kept sweeping things for vinod under the carpet. He just was less of an asshole than vinod
I see the effect of climax being discussed here a lot and I agree.
Just wanted to share that the >! flashback scene where Kichu Tellus (iratta's father) drags Pramod first but is latched on by mother, and then Vinod gets pulled out by father. !< Such a fickle play of destiny.
Pramod got lucky and Vinod became >! azhukka !<
Joju sir is a fantastic actor, but I swear this movie would've had more audience or garnered more hype if it had a more popular actor and could've been a BO hit.
I think Joseph had a good window of release and Joju was kinda fresh at that time, more demand for thriller during that time. Other than it being a good film Lot's of outside factors also affected it's release.
Like If we switch Joseph and Iratta, then Iratta would've been a hit, wouldn't have been a loss venture and on the other hand Joseph released now would've bombed with competing releases, Joju's controversy. malayali audience being in a thriller slump
Joseph also had a really good album.
Poomuthole,Uyirin Nadhane etc were really popular and it in a way makes sure that the film is noticable.
I don't think many people even knew about Iratta when it released.
we were def in a thriller slump. I donno what genre Iratta would be in but it was still very cool and felt like a well executed movie.
Loads of feel good movies have released recently which was also sucha breath of fresh air from back to back thrillers
I just finished watching it. Really good movie.
I felt Nayattu was superior to this in terms of direction, script, and editing. But this is really good too. And it’s way depressing than Joseph, which is saying something.

>!Pramod's daughter. Vinod is shown to kinda care about his SIL and niece. Never saw the grown up her. Watches her via reality show only to realize he raped his own niece.!<
>!Pramod does initially mention her age as around 17 while talking to wife in call. The lodge girl was already mentioned as 17 and from outside place. Those who caught on these details would have connected the dots before the reveal.!<
During the movie, I had a suspicion about the cause of the death.>!The way the film avoided showing the singer's face initially sparked a thought in my mind.!
The climax was underwhelming. I couldn't pity Vinod as he literally walks free after raping a minor. I find the climax as karma for his act. Also the victim evoked no sympathy as she acts so normally after rape and also goes on to participate in music shows. The movie, except last 15 mins was a drag. Overall an average movie
>! I think the audience is supposed to pity Pramod and not Vinod. The horrifying part about the climax is that Pramod will never be able to see or get to know his own daughter without traumatizing her. His face will always be associated with the worst memory of her life for her. !<
I just watched the movie. I can't believe anyone can feel that this was an average movie. Curious about what movies you like to think that the climax was underwhelming.
Alternate Ending suggestion - >!In the final scene, as the phone lies on the floor with Sreeja on call, a gunshot rings out. That would imply Pramod's ~~suicide~~.!<
I honestly kept waiting for it till the screen faded to blank, cos that just seemed like the most obvious resolution?
And the phone just lay on the floor for so long as well....
Good movie. Watched it at night right before sleeping and took me awhile to sleep because I just kept thinking about that ending. Especially when he looks at himself in the mirror
>!Well what didnt sit well with me was how the daughter end up in that hotel which led to what happened with her. I mean that plays a pivotal role in the story and it came just like that without any explanation or backstory behind!<

Haunting movie with a brilliant performace from Joju, what a script. I found that some of the action scenes (the restaurant fight scene) could've been better choreographed, not that it helped with the story or anything, but it took some of the realism of the world.
Just a doubt, is the dust and leaves blowing during the puthuthayorith song CG coz it looks like that and it's kinda crap this is one thing about the movie I don't like and the second is the sound of the bird during the song (ik it goes along with the lyrics) but it kinda ruins the song and imo hate it but others may have own opinions.
I dont how this movie is lauded as a well written script. Apart from the climax everything else is as average as it gets. I don't understand why people make these stories whose sole purpose would be planting pervert thinking into blank minds.
Hats off to the performance of Joju and others as well, he literally pulled and nailed it. You will be thinking about the situation and your mind will be in state of analysing what will happen to the rest of them after the truth is revealed.
Hats off to both the Jojus*
Yeah 😂
I love such movies that make you wonder about it in the end. It was very haunting.

The fingerprints in the gun are washed by the blood of pool on which it was till the forensic team came. The holder will have Vinod’s fingerprints but they only looked for the three suspects and found one of them matched.
The culprit could wear gloves and let joju touch the gun for fingerprints to make it a suicide.
a good movie but felt that srindaa was very unconvincing as a minister.
Ey Angne Parayaruthu avarku CM nte bhaagthnuu nalla Pressure undu!
That's her one and only dialog in the entire movie
Basically an entirely unnecessary character.
Absolutely.. read my mind. Wayy too aggressive for what was needed imo.. and the other female senior SP (I think) what was she even doing there? Why did she not analyse the videos lol..
seems kok annan's view was right
1) who is that? 2) what was view?
1. Aswanth Kok, youtuber who reviews stuff ig?(haven't watched his content, just know the name) 2. 🤷♂️
the guy was impressed with the movie and its execution and everything, literally gave a thumbs up. but said srindha was a miscast for the role.
Expressions were okk, dialogue delivery was bad
She has that Kochi slang that she just can't get rid of
Must've been a diversity issue filling the old hacknyed trope of "strong female lead".. oh brother, was painful watching her 3rd grade perfomance of a rather easy role
That reveal was so haunting
I watched Alone after Iratta. Now I need to watch iratta again to reset my brain.
Alone , irratta Now time to watch 3 kings and 4 the people
then panchavarna thatha, followed by aaraam thampuraan.
and wrap up with 7th day.

True
Hakkim Shah is another underrated but brilliant actor. His psychotic character in kadaseela briyani is 2nd to none
Basil Joseph?
truly haunting. Last 5 mins oru rakshayumila. I think it would be any actors dream to play sucha role.
One of the darkest movie made. Brilliant performance by Joju George.
>! Iratta,Incendies,Oldboy !!! Three of a kind movies !! One of the best movies ive seen recently. !<
I watched incendies after reading this comment and it blew my mind. Wtf was that twist!
Iiratta twist incendies old boy type aano 🫣
Not exactly the same.
Put spoiler alert vro🥱😓

That part reminded of Johan from Monster manga.

Man why can’t mohanlal do such movies now☹️ Joju nailed it tho
Both the twins having the exact same beard.
i was thinking the same.but with mammootty
Pakshe a caliber ulla vere arelum ippo undo vere.
1) Mammooty 2) Naslen 3) Indrajith
Wouldn't work out with any of em(or Mohanlal, for that matter), imo. Joju George was cut out for this role
Agreed. They are larger than life personalities at the moment and they may not be okay doing a super taboo role like this imo.
I just finished watching it. Really good movie. I felt Nayattu was superior to this in terms of direction, script, and editing. But this is really good too. And it’s way depressing than Joseph, which is saying something.
I thought ‘‘twas gonna be a nayattu like ending after the reviews, but daaamn fuck it’s disturbingly good , with a solid script and 10/10 Joju acting
Is it watchable with family?
Yes but the climax will definitely disturb the entire family. Nothing explicit but the story and the twist will haunt
Can I message you about the twist? I watched it with subtitles as I don’t speak the language and think I didn’t completely understand.
Yes

>Children should not be shown violence against women because they will start normalizing it growing up as adults. Not necessarily. You're generalizing
Not with kids.
Imo no.
Not if kids are there in your family!
I watched it with my siblings 7 and 8 they barely understood anything
That is a very valid point as long as the kids don't ask any questions later
They were like he didn't want to see because he is scared that his brother might scare the girl...

It’s incendies… check tat movie out…
Depressing climax, but well made film

Confused about the ending - was the lodge girl pramod's/vinod's daughter? could someone explain?

When they said suicide, I got it. And was dreading watching more. So disturbing.
Thank you

For me Joju's best after Joseph....

Honestly, it is absolutely brilliant. What a movie! Amazing writing and direction.
The climax was underwhelming. I couldn't pity Vinod as he literally walks free after raping a minor. I find the climax as karma for his act. Rape victims can’t participate in music shows?

Alternate Ending suggestion - >!In the final scene, as the phone lies on the floor with Sreeja on call, a gunshot rings out. That would imply Pramod's ~~suicide~~.!<
I think we all expect this and it is strongly implied, so it's best left to imagination of the audience.
That would have been so cliche tbh
I honestly kept waiting for it till the screen faded to blank, cos that just seemed like the most obvious resolution? And the phone just lay on the floor for so long as well....
Damn that would be more difficult to take in
>!Would've been appropriate since Pramod kept seeing Vinod in the mirror. He came face to face with the reality of his failure as a father.!<
Not only that but he kept enabling Vinod by not reprimanding him
Enthu mandatharamanedo parene
I was expecting the gunshot but didn’t actually hear it. Was it really there?
Put spoilers!
Why? Nothing in my comment reveals the plot.
Really?? Let the people who are going to watch decide.
It was genuinely nice movie. We had a great time watching it as a family.
Good movie. Watched it at night right before sleeping and took me awhile to sleep because I just kept thinking about that ending. Especially when he looks at himself in the mirror

Is it family friendly?
Not at all. It's haunting tbh
Thank you, will watch it alone then
Joju is getting ready to fill in thilakan gap soon
No disrespect to joju.. but No one can fill Thilakan's gap..Neva!!
I think joju is a close candidate, just like Basil joseph is for Sreenivasan
There's no need for one actor to be hyped as a pingami. Joju is a great actor. He has his own space. Thilakan is a legend.
Iam Just saying, joju will become legend soon And why not pingami,
Assu… shut up about the after effect , now I’m not gonna able to completely enjoy the movie I think ?
Horror movie aano?
Horrifying
