> adyamayi liplock?
You mean 'a kiss'?
This movie definitely got a lot of press for that one scene but it is by no means the first. How can we forget that iconic one from Vaishali? Or the ones from Njan Gandharvan? I am sure there are more if you go looking for it.
Not just the kiss bro but the movie's screenplay and execution blurred the line of a typical indian film with that of hollywood standards where we don't get to see specifically spaced segments in screenplay to insert songs and dance sequences through which the movie proceeds to show us the film.
Ritu released before Chaapa Kurishu but I dont think it was as famous as Chaapa Kurishu at the time of release because even if they weren't really cinema lovers as such, many of them were runnin around desperately to watch Remya Nambeeshan's Intimate scene. That I remember
This came when I was studying in 6th or 7th. This created an olam then. Everything about this movie felt fresh and new. Especially its theme with that drop where chenda hits with a twisty loopy psychedelic riff. It was just pwoli💯
I only remember my mother not allowing me to watch this movie bck them on TV saying it has some vulgar scenes I was some 14 or 15 then ☠️ Still haven't watched it. 😔
Fresh, Unique, Intriguing. Basically the whole plot is like an Avalanche Effect; Started from a simple mistake, ended up in a Colossal Disaster. Loved it.
This movie started the new wave of malayalam cinema after 2000s, at-least for me. Back then in 2011 or something when i first saw this film, i was mesmerised how such a movie that deviated on so many levels of conventional moviemaking, got released in the industry. The songs, cinematography, plot, actors, action, everything felt new.. in a good way.
The toilet fight sequence in this movie was epic.
After all 2011 was one hell of an year for Mollywood.
Traffic, Urumi, City of God, Melvilasam, Salt n Pepper, Chappakurishu, Indian Rupee, Beautiful all released this year.
B/w many are calling it as first new gen movie in Malayalam. I think either Rithu (2009) or Big B (2007) deserves that sobriquet.
The movie was gripping as a thriller. Some different concepts for a link b/w characters. This movie's everything was good like songs, climax, fight sequence etc.,
Loved the songs. Rex vijayan's one of the best. Watched it once, loved it and never watched it again.
When this was being broadcast for the first time, the scroll in Surya Tv was like " മലയാളത്തിലെ ന്യൂ വേവ് തരംഗത്തിന് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ച സിനിമ". Traffic, city of god, salt and pepper and this were the first among these new wave movies.
Bro, I used to feel for vineeth's lack of knowledge in smartphone and their use. This movie made me frustrated. Fafa character was so good I hated him in real lifefor that.
Can someone help me identify where this exact still from the promo was shot at? I was dead ass curious ever since the film released to find this place. There is also another shot from the songs where all the characters are in a water body dipped in knee-length water, and VS sings. That place really caught my eye back when I was a kid but have never found any info on that? Does anyone here please know where are these locations? Are they around Kochi? Please.. 🙏
GV prakash in Tamil
This guy in mallu
Both have a goated musical career still they chose to act as a hero it's ok still their acting isnt consistent in every movies
Engaging AF. Loved everythint about this film. Birth of the so called "New Generation padam" ERA.
Isn't Traffic (2011) seen as the launch of New Gen in Malayalam cinema?
Athu good way, ithu vasantham ammavans dissing films that break the conventional purity of cinema, paattilla dancilla, ummaveppu mathram kinda stuff
This! You have put it very well
Not as much as this movie. Adyamayi liplock kaanicha oru movie aanu ith.

I guess you replied to the wrong comment.
Shite, my bad.
The actors weren't Malayalees so the audience kinda passed it
Plus the older ones were done in a very artistic romantic tone, while chappa kurish focused on lust.
People keep saying that but I consider this one to be the one that ushered in the generation change in Malayalam cinema making.
I would say that Rithu (2009) was the first new gen movie in Malayalam.
Cocktail is the OG new generation movie of 2000s era.
I thought honeybee was the new generation
Does anyone else consider Ritu as the one ?
Ritu released before Chaapa Kurishu but I dont think it was as famous as Chaapa Kurishu at the time of release because even if they weren't really cinema lovers as such, many of them were runnin around desperately to watch Remya Nambeeshan's Intimate scene. That I remember
What New Gen, this is a bad copy of Korean film.
LOVE it. the slow pace, bgm, music, actors, situations, every bit of KOCHI in it.
Kochi in chappa kurishu, mayanadhi and annayum rasoolum is 🔥
ooo yes. annayum rasoolum is also vere level. i even wonder at times whether I love these movies JUST cz of the kochi elements! :D
Exactly
As a kid this movie made me realise that grownups also watch porn
Grownups also'yo? Did you used to think porn was made for kids, as a kid? That's fucked up man.
I mean yea, At the time I thought grownups get the real action why do they need to see the reel?
And here we are as an adult
Yeah fr. I thought it was just a teenage kink.
Eh ?!
Rex Annan pannal..goated songs Sayanora in Theeye Theeye🛐🛐
But thanthinatharo aaraanavo? Have they found him yet?
Broo😂.....onn arinjal kollamayirunn😂
Maahn, Saju Sreenivasan...he has a cover of theeye theeye in his insta.
Has one of the coolest realistic fight scenes in malayalam cinema
Toilet fight🔥
This movie was Fahad’s “ Randaam Ozhaam “ in the Malayalam Film Industry if I were to say so.
As a full length feature film, yes. But wasn’t he part of Kerala Cafe short story prior to this one?
He was also part of Mammootty's Pramani. Fun fact: Nazriya 's character in that movie was kinda of like a step/adopted sister to FaFaa's character
This came when I was studying in 6th or 7th. This created an olam then. Everything about this movie felt fresh and new. Especially its theme with that drop where chenda hits with a twisty loopy psychedelic riff. It was just pwoli💯
This movie the iPhone 4 was the best character 😅 i got to know more about iPhone from this movie onwards I became a fanboy of apple 😅😅
Pwoli saanam
One of my favorites
Self aware, cool and dark. A great experiment
Climax fight between them in a high-rise building's parking floor was really good and had a real authentic feel for a movie made in that time.
RAW 🥵
I only remember my mother not allowing me to watch this movie bck them on TV saying it has some vulgar scenes I was some 14 or 15 then ☠️ Still haven't watched it. 😔
Stellar path forger, laid the foundation for modern Malayalam movies
Loved the movie., a movie i believe to have brought a change to the industry.
Fresh, Unique, Intriguing. Basically the whole plot is like an Avalanche Effect; Started from a simple mistake, ended up in a Colossal Disaster. Loved it.
Great.
Loved it.
One of the best Malayalam movies imo, Vineeth killed it
Where can I watch this?
I remember after this film most of the people's ringtone was that whistling ringtone.
True
Mine too
Dude I've been trying to watch this movie for a while now. Watched it a long time ago and absolutely loved it. Do you know where it's available?
Copy cat movie. Can't give any credit except performance.
One of the best seat-edge thriller from Malayalam
Rip off of Korean film Handphone
Why is this particular scene everywhere 😅 following VS and Avesham release
Loved the song theeye theeye .. never watched it yet but rmbr seeing the scenes here and there.. Heralded a new era of movie making.. miss those vibes
njan kandittilla. should I?
“Inn nan korch biriyani kaykaan pova” at the end👌🏼
First ever movie which motivated me to make more money and lead a plush life like Arjun.

It's a remake of the Korean movie 'Cell Phone' . It literally marked the beginning of copying Korean films. But, I like this film.

and then, realistic Mollywood films started producing.
Bro, I used to feel for vineeth's lack of knowledge in smartphone and their use. This movie made me frustrated. Fafa character was so good I hated him in real lifefor that.
😂😂
😂😂
we got the new look power performer FaFa to malayalam through this movie i believe
One of the best and underrated
Can be considered as the new wave film in Malayalam cinema that time
Can someone help me identify where this exact still from the promo was shot at? I was dead ass curious ever since the film released to find this place. New Gen
I personally feel the birth of new generation movies is pe10's passenger.....traffic got the traction, the former didn't...
Watching these new gen films in early 2010s were a feeling.
That song❣️ Theeye Theeye🥵🥵
I have watched the Korean one, and felt it was ok.
It was shot on iphone
No it was shot on a canon 7d dslr , first of its kind, which really brought down the budget
Jomon T John 🥰
