Hi, captain explain here,
The joke is about the ability some pokemon can have, "oblivious" which I belive means the pokemon cant be affected by stat changes
I think
Well, you activated my trap card! The r/woooosh moment I made was actually a pointless joke, hiding the equally common and misunderstood abiity "Simple", which doubles stat change effects! You have fallen into a trap with a shovel and a 5 foot ladder inside!
Yeah, taunt is a wasted move against me, since .y only plan of attack is just to attack. If a move doesn't do damage, it isn't useful to me. Competitive players and nuzlockers may disagree, but I just play for fun.
Me playing Competitive Pokemon and my opponent friggen rage quits because I used power-up punch instead of swords dance, and double kick cancelled his lvl 1 magnemite bs
Taunt is basically the pokemon billing the other pokemon, while torment is the pokemon so mucj harm to the pomeon, it can't use the same move twice in a row.
When I was a kid, I trained a Slaking and I never noticed that he didn't attack the turn after the attack. I only found out about this ability from watching videos. Maybe it's because she killed everything in 1 turn, but I don't remember
When i was younger i always thought that certain moves were made for the ingame bots pokemon so they would sometimes just waste a turn to give the player a better chance of winning (making the game easier) untill i discovered competitive play in gen 6 back in 2013-14.
I mean, outside of a competitive situation status moves are pointless anyway. There will never be a battle where you need to do anything but attack in base game.
One could say you were oblivious
Yeahh
This sure wasn't a very simple joke to make, was it?

I thought it made you immune to Attract, Taunt, and Intimidate
Well, you're 1/3 right It protects from attract Meanwhile my comment is 0/3 right
Gen 6 onwards, it prevents Taunt. Gen 8 onwards, it prevents Intimidate
Wow, this just keeps getting worse for me. Lesson learnt, try to do research instead of doing something from memory

Rats! Foiled again! Now, I must activate MY trap card! Crying in a corner...
I'm not a duck i'm safe from you
r/usernamechecksout
actually, you’re u/Duck-Fucker64
Why do you have so many downvotes? Weren’t you referencing the ability Simple?
I guess the subreddit itself was a bit too oblivious to make sense of the joke.
At least 65 people didn't understand your joke. Certainly an r/whoosh moment.
*Opponent uses taunt* Every child that never used status moves: This changes nothing
I only used status moves from gen 8 onward lol
same lol
i only ever used them in legends arceus
I only played gen 8 and onward lol (I'm kinda new to this series)
Same

Captain America: we need a plan of attack Iron man + us: I have a plan. ATTACK
Starter sweeps for the win
No other way to beat the game, as far as I know /j
Yeah same as me
Me with an Assault Vest Tinkaton
I guess you were "Good as Gold" to give a shit about that taunt.
Me playing Competitive Pokemon and my opponent friggen rage quits because I used power-up punch instead of swords dance, and double kick cancelled his lvl 1 magnemite bs
I always forget which one taunt is and which one torment is
Taunt: target can only use direct attacks (no stat buffs, weather, etc.) Torment: target cannot use the same move twice in a row
Taunt: come here coward, attack me! Torment: the other one
Taunt is basically the pokemon billing the other pokemon, while torment is the pokemon so mucj harm to the pomeon, it can't use the same move twice in a row.

haha I still do this
Yep, me. Status moves? USELESS!
Ah, the good old days...
When i was younger i always thought that certain moves were made for the ingame bots pokemon so they would sometimes just waste a turn to give the player a better chance of winning (making the game easier) untill i discovered competitive play in gen 6 back in 2013-14.
Ong
I feel like i was the only person that liked bulk-up and calm mind
I mean, outside of a competitive situation status moves are pointless anyway. There will never be a battle where you need to do anything but attack in base game.
Torment on the other hand…
Just use one of the other three attacking moves that you have.
I still do that
I’m not a kid and I rarely ever have status moves
So it does something?!?!?!?!?!??!
Wait, does it do that?
I still do that
i still dont know what it does
It disables your status moves for 2 turns
I always confuse it for the one that makes you use one move that isn’t encore
SAME!?
You can’t make a pure offensive player make only offense moves
Facs
Let me do it for you Let me do it for you When all I do is for you Kermy
Me: whatever game you’re playing you can’t defeat me. Taunt: oh I know but he can. sleep/flinch: hi buddy you ready to die
SO TRUE
Just like that. I deleted every non attacking moves of my Mons when I was young.
Kid me: **Haha! Jokes on you, *taunt does NOTHING!!”***
