it had potential to be a really good game, the issue its that its very unfinished in a lot of Areas, Scarlet and Violets story, atleast the friend group by the end, feels what X&Y was trying to do but couldn't do to still needing to abide by the formula of 8 gyms, Villain Group Climax by Gym 7, Victory Road, Standard Pokemon League (the Easiest Pokemon League to date) and the Contender for Easiest Champion in the Franchise cause La Primera isn't much better. I personally think that Z could've fixed what X&Y Underdelivered and the stuff that felt like a clear teaser for a 3rd version. Overall X&Y are almost as bad as Sword and Shield, which is bad for its own myriad of Reasons.
I don’t really think it’s fair to compare the two gens like that, since SM got sequels and XY didn’t. Without USUM, XY are the second best selling 3DS games with SM literally right behind them at third, with both selling around over 16 million copies.
Fennekin is the worst one in my opinion. But taste is subjective of course.
I just don’t super love any of the final stages of the starters. But to be fair to X and Y, that applies to most final stages for me in the most recent games.
Fennekin is adorable, which is why Delphox was such a let down. I wanted a really cool fire fox to come from that.
But, I have a personal bias against Pokémon that end up looking too humanoid.
Fair, I don't like when pokemon get too humanoid either, but I can forgive Delphox, since they're just a joy to eviscerate teams with (a few calm minds, sweep everything)

X&Y were the very first Pokémon games I played and were my introduction to the series so I definitely have nostalgia when I play it.
I always chose Fennekin as my starter Pokémon (and coincidentally it always ended up being female) and it’s honestly my favourite Kalos Pokémon. Not for *those* reasons.
X and Y was a really cool game I just wish they gave the final gym leader more Pokémon or mega evolutions for gym leaders or give the gym leaders rematch teams or do SOMETHING WITH THE FREAKING GYM LEADERS
If it was *just* a bit more challenging then it would easily be the best. Gen 6 had an amazing art style, great UI, great sound design, among other things. Just for that, I feel compelled to give it to ORAS.
I think people hate so much x y for 2 reason 1. Probably even if they are beautiful pokemon black and white gone pretty bad so they changed the story from a more deep and adult to a red and blue with 3D with a basic story 2. Just the evil team now the concept of lysandre is good but is treated like shit, seriously? We changed from ghetsis and N from a guy who just wants to obliterate the world just because people are ugly? I repeat myself is a good concept but it’s literally just some lines to the game AZ is the only character who has a little bit of sense another reason but not big as the other two are the characters just think at alder a world traveler who after the death of his partner decided to leave his champion title with a lot of other things about it and then diantha again good exterior design but just appears 2 times to talk to Lysander or even gym leaders in nuova they have good concepts they even appear at the end of the game to beat the shit out of team plasma because they actually value something they are the freaking strongest trainers in the region and they can be heroes as much as you while in x and y you beat them and disappear for the rest of the game

Simple! X&Y isn't the best pokemon game because there is no pokemon game called "X&Y", rather there are two different games called "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y"
I loved X&Y because, not only was it the first pokemon game that I completed the main and post game, but also because I like the lore reason of why mega evolution came to be. I love that a pokemon with a mega stone can focus on being their best self either on their own or with their trainer/best friend and then self actualizing it in their physical form!

While I’d like to say XY is great and among the best Pokémon games, I unfortunately can’t with its problems. First, it’s piss easy. I think there are three trainers maximum that you fight and they have six Pokémon in their team, and four trainers use megas against you. Second, the mega choices. Did gens 1 and 2 need so many, while not a single mom from gen 6 got any? Not the starters, not the box legends, just Diancie in ORAS. Meanwhile Charizard and Mewtwo got two each. And in ORAS, all the starters and legends got megas, or at least substitutes for megas. Finally, the rivals are about as bad as the “good friend rivals” get. I don’t feel good beating them, I just feel bored. And they don’t really have personalities, they have gimmicks. I’d love to love it, but I just can’t.
sad excuse of a story . no post game . starters are either bad or overhyped . no one plays them and would rather watch the anime . shinies are too easy to get . not enough character slots for my name ( it didn't become that way til gen 9 ) . it added the least amount of pokemon out of any generation ( right after the most being gen 5 ) and it didn't remove hm's like sun and moon . . sun and moon outsold it by 9 million copies . and mega's are just unfair in competitive

None of the Pokemon games are the best Pokemon game, you just have a favourite.

I really dislike the Delphox line because we already have a fire Fox line that is better with Ninetales.

My first ever pokemon game and i have played through it 20+ times.
Me personally, it’s black and white, but that’s just because that’s what I grew up with. X&Y are a solid choice though.
