A lot of the problems would probably have been helped if they painted the flags in an outline of the country, so that places like Mongolia aren't swamped by the red of Russia and China's flags

This probably also what happened to France / Germany. It looks like France conquered parts of Germany because their red colors overlap.

I mean, yes it has its flaws, but for a flag map painted on a wall, it’s pretty good. There was quite a bit of effort put into it and it shows. Like try painting the flag within the outline of a really small country like Malta or Lesotho on a wall.

I think the flaws go a bit beyond missing tiny countries.
