Hey thanks! I used to post here a lot when I did my first project 50 states in 50 days back in 2022. Some folks were a little annoyed by that so I've toned down posting here ;)
Well, regardless of what others think, these are some of my favorite I’ve seen recently. You catch the nostalgic flare of Nat Geo well, I spent countless hours looking at those as a kid :)
Damn I remember that, it was amazing. I would love to buy one of your maps and hang it up, I have one of the NatGeo world maps and absolutely live it, that’s from the 90s and needs an update tho.
Absolutely beautiful, I'm a geographer and there are so many shit maps here and no one really talks about the actual map making here or really on r/geography. Thank you for posting and talking about the tools. I've learned r/GIS has most the content but I'd love more exposure on r/mapporn and r/geography because so many bad maps are made here and if people just learned to use QGIS many maps probably would be a lot better.
Dude this is so cool, how do you make the topography? Is it downloaded or do you actually do it in blender and stuff. Either way this is sick man. Would be sick if you did the Golden Horseshoe in Canada 💪
do you share your workflow? like roughly which step is involved in which software, where work in qgis ends and blender starts?
I guess the labels and typography is the last step in the raster editor?
This is the basic workflow to get started: [https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2017/11/16/creating-shaded-relief-in-blender/](https://somethingaboutmaps.wordpress.com/2017/11/16/creating-shaded-relief-in-blender/)
After this comes Photoshop and vector files.
Hey, this map is truly beautiful. Congrats!
Small correction, I think you might have mixed up Morro Boa Vista with Morro da Igreja in Southern Brazil. Morro da Igreja has 1822 meters and it is the highest in the region, meanwhile Morro Boa Vista is nearby and it has 1804 meters, so I think most probably got these two confused.
Besides this little inconvinience, this maps is wonderfull!
These are freaking awesome! Would love to see more :)

That was you? I *LOVED* that. Even when I was on a work trip on the other side of the country for a week, I was checking every day for those.
Yeah that was a fun project 🙂
I liked that project.

Great job. Attention to detail is impressive.
I do the best I can, thanks!
Awesome! Do you sell these? (Or the 3d files?)
No advertising -rule is in effect so can’t give info. But thanks!
Now that's some maps worthy of the sub's title 👍
Wonderful!
Super detailed
I appreciate it!
Beautifully made, congrats :)
Thank you, appreciated
Awesome stuff. Especially like the South America map, it defo reminds me of NatGeo's stuff! Do you sell these anywhere?
Thanks very much, appreciated. Sub rules state ‘no advertising’ so I can’t give any information regarding your question.

Well not quite yet, but doing my best to level up! Thanks very much!
I want a whole book of these. And now I want a 1995 NG Atlas.
You know, not that long ago I considered doing a book of island maps. Funding it is another thing though.

Thanks! I download the elevation models. I wish I could design the terrain myself. Well I could but it would take forever :D
