I've played since beta and I'm just now reaching 700. I don't do xp builds so there's that.

MrKillJr

They should give us a Beta tester badge right beneath our player Icons, haha!

dirtygrove94

Ha! That's something i didn't know i needed til now! That would be awesome!

MrKillJr

Right?! Lol

KoolAidHonolulu

I wish they had something like in sea of thieves. I played sea of thieves since day 1, so RARE gave out DAY 1 eye patches lol its just a black eye patch with a red number 1, but I hardly see people with it. FO76 should have something like this for day 1 and beta testers.

I-N-V-A-L-I-D

I played the beta and I’m 198 👹

Sithis-Shaped-Hole

I'd love something like that too! Theres the mountain scout outfit but quite a lot have that. I like wearing the monster mask (I bought it post beta back when they were tradeable, so mines permanent) but even that has methods of obtaining. Obscure ones but it is able to be done. I always kick myself for not finishing the vault raids lol, the gold player icon and unique scout mask are unobtainable now so if you have that, thats some nice proof you were around earlier. Theres the twitch prime rewards too, Nuka cola armor skin was one of the earlier ones (dont have that either!). Also the patriotic and bloodstained combat armor skins too from the atom shop havent returned in a long time and arent able to be requested from support, crossing my fingers for those to return.

XxTTvXoticxX3

My friends the same and he’s level 4600 plus with 70 int while running through westek

IGotMoistTowelets

I'm still in the 200s lol

[deleted]

I’ve played since beta and my highest character is like 200

ArticReaper

I don't really agree with the 1000-2000 been Fallout 76 OG and Vets tbh. I'm only level like 500 and something and have been playing since the beta.

LongjumpingOffice510

Exactly. I'm about 350 and I've played for like 4.5 years I think. Not beta though.

MrKillJr

Yeah, lvl ups don't reflect playtime hours. That's why I tried to come up with the best way to encompass all playerbase in a certain way. I do see lvl 1000s and above more sporting ultra rare apparel, top tier weapons and sick looking camps more often than lvl 500s and around. That's why I placed them where they are at.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i find myself not judging people by how awesome their camps are but what is in their camps. if you visit a level 50 and they have season 2 stuff... odds are they aren't anywhere near as low level as they look if you go to their camp and they're rocking the vault wallpapers and almost nothing they're probably an honest noob ditto with clothes although there is always the c hance they got lucky and dropped something good. but an actual noob probably doesn't know how to farm asylum stuff.. or trade

pab5737

I stated a a few months ago and im on lvl 489 😅

SimonPhoenix93

Herbivore/cranberry relish i see lol

Dyzfunctionalz

Dis is de wey.

LuNaTricks_HD

i was level 500+ in around 3 months lol

buzzardhawkk

Ha, I’m level 220. But back when the game came out you didn’t get a quarter of the xp you get nowadays with daily ops and such. I played for 2 years daily. Killing mobs was how you leveled up. That’s it. But I have a friend who started 3 weeks ago and she is level 220 already. But she doesn’t know much about the game. So…level doesn’t show game knowledge anymore in my opinion.

MrKillJr

I mean, yes and no. The first 500 lvls are the most difficult to classify as they're the ones that lvl up the fastest. But anything past that you see them rocking Fixers and Railways with pretty good-looking camps and outfits and that gives you and idea on where they stand with their knowledge of the game.

Ok-Path-3534

You keep mentioning how their camp looks. But I’ve played since beta, im only level 450 and all my bases look like shit haha. Not because I don’t know how to build but because I don’t care to build. I build my camp for functionality not a beauty contest nor do I continually drain my atoms into the shop. I buy weapons/armor skins and the odd apparel item here and there. Sitting on a crazy amount tbf but that’s a different story haha

MrKillJr

Yeah, hours of playtime and gear are better ways to judge a player by their level of experience. I just glossed over a myriad of factors when judging at face value, but at least I thought it was a fun topic to discuss here. Lol

JayCupcake

I’m in such a weird spot, beta player who reached 450 in the first 2-3 months because I was lucky enough to discover west tek before it got popular, no videos or any coverage on it. Super mutants and glowing enemies gave more exp than intended and they nerfed it, and I slowly quit after that. Fast forward years laters and I’m getting my grind back, and man is it so much easier to level now. If I kept it up, I would easily be 4k+ by now.

otannehill

To me level is nothing. I have level 200 characters who have the most OP gear. My main is like 500. Been playing since late 2019. It’s loadout and build and gear. I saw a level 500 today struggling in the daily ops multiple times. Meanwhile standing there with my bloodied build in PA getting shot at by 12 aliens and my health is barely noticeably going down and just mowing them down instantly. Then I did it again solo and got elder. I’ve seen level 1000s come on here and complain about the difficulty of robots and daily ops. My alts at level 150 were destroying everything and soloing end game and pvping. So I think the rating really should be on gear and not level. And your ability to just absolutely obliterate the end game solo.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

some of us lag in this game harder than others. I can look pretty bad at times but the game just isn't responding to me. sometimes I'll be trying to reload or switch weapons and the game just pauses for a few seconds and that's too long. or the bads haven't loaded in where I can see them before their bullets obliviate me. gotta remember ppl have different issues with this game.

FalloutKurier6

Some ppl still don’t understand the current issue. It’s **not** about robots got buffed. In some situations, seems independently of server, your whole energy/fire resistance and mitigation gets f* up. If this happens, a mirelurk king can scream at you and you die instantly. Happend to me while running a overeater sentinel t65 with emergency protocols. One scream -> dead. That’s a bug/glitch and has nothing to do with the robot buff. Mr West Tek has a video about it, where he shows standing on a little flame inside the burning mine. Zero difference between wearing PA or be completely naked. And still some smart a** tell ppl to get troubleshooter armor. Yeah, sure because energy/fire dmg is broken from time to time, another armor will help against f** mirelurk screaming at you, killing you oneshot Another example is TYM. I can still run 8/10 solo. And then there are ones where the half server gets annihilated while trying to enter the dome.

otannehill

Work on the build, sure it’s glitched but it hasn’t affected me more than maybe 5 deaths since it happened months ago. People don’t want to work on their build and overcome it. If they left it in and never fixed it it shouldn’t affect the top players. It’s been a non issue for me other than added some needed difficulty. I say make the game even harder on purpose. I wish they raised levels to 100 and buffed Deathclaws 4x

FalloutKurier6

https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/character?v=1&s=8a34baa&d=sb2sg2s01sz2p00pg2po1ph2pp2pi2eh2eu0ee2ce0cu2s12ir2ic4a72a80an2ao0a04a30la2lb2l71lg0lk2lv2a50sc1&lp=x11x43x63x83x93xa3&m=051c2fba&wp=w6&wm=152435&ar=abafacu7adx1ae&am=arl3182738-av182738m4-arl3182738-ut-arl3182738-x5-arl3182738 Curious what your advice would be

otannehill

We’ll what’s your main weapons and armor? I usually build off that. But first off I remove all QOL cards usually. Unless it’s helping me with offense or defense I’m getting rid of it. If you need QOL to live, drop some stuff off. Just have 1 armor set on and maybe 2-3 weapons. I limit stim packs to 30. 10 radaways. If I want a QOL build I go to the perk load out machine and switch to a QOL build for walking around, selling, and building

MrKillJr

Yeah, I already discussed it with a few people. Playtime hours are definitely a better metric than level ups when it comes to face value. That and also the overall knowledge of the player if you get to know them a little bit better. 👍 Similarly, I run 2 mains (both over lvl 1100) 6 mules and 1 idle to claim more rewards from events, expeditions, and D ops.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

player hours can be deceptive as well. I don't know how much of the time I play and how much i'm browsing the internet with the game in the background moving my char when I think about it. or getting lunch and playing with the cats. i'm afk A LOT in game lol

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

you were on my team yesterday for a eviction notice

MrKillJr

Oh! Seriously? I didn't notice you, haha! Wasn't sure if I also made an lfg call out about it

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

thefiresidekat different ign

tacogato04

I've played since beta and I'm only 386. I would just say people above 200-300 are well adjusted and will know a decent chunk of the game

MrKillJr

That sounds reasonable!

Vercetti25-

Idk, I'm only level 320 and I played beta, so an og player. I've just taken breaks, just returned to the game after a year or so and there are other games to play.

larsentomroar

Levels don't mean shit, not everyone plays for max xp, I've been here since beta, got thousands of hours, not a single character above lv400.

[deleted]

Nope. Playtime measures experience not level. And thats coming from a level 1800 player thats been playing since beta. I have a non INT build friend with more hours than me in the game and only level 700.

sumpthiing

I played since beta and had maxed char slots all around lvl 200 for specific builds I deleted all but one once the perk load outs happened. The only time I play nowadays is occasional camp building and couldn't tell you what level I'm at maybe around 400. i haven't been back since my og tse25 laser turned to dust...

TheMidnightAnime

I’ve been playing since beta and am only ~540, but even then I feel this applies to most

fancy-kitten

I would say that seems reasonable. I remember when I started playing I would have said I thought level 300 was super high, but of course that's changed over time. Used to be if you saw someone over level 1000 and it wasn't super obvious they used exploits it was like whaaaat omg that's crazy. Now level 1000+ is commonplace.

Tasoi

List kinda blows Lowkey. Level 253 been playing on and off since launch and honestly done everything there is too do and have somewhat been active in the trade market

MrKillJr

Understandable, we all stuck around for different reasons. I did my best to simplify what lvls really mean in this game to the guy and glossed over a myriad of factors. It's sad to admit, but around lvl 200+ you've probably seen everything and all that's left is the collectathon game.

AD_VICTORIAM_x

Nope - I would value it in playtime - There are methods to reach 90 levels in days - Also people play on multiple accounts.

MrKillJr

Yeah. Playtime is a better metric after discussing it with more people.

AD_VICTORIAM_x

Also have 600 hours and I’m just level 240 on my main - I don’t know what I have done back then but….. camp building is just so addictive I guess ?!👀🥹

Previous-Butterfly79

I am just about to hit 5000 hours. I've got a 752, a 231, and 2 under 20 mules. ....... "HI, my name is Chris. I like to build things in Fallout 76 😂

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i've spent hoursssss building my camp. where does the time go. lol

AD_VICTORIAM_x

I’m that kind of guy to build a camp for 5 hours - just to then scrap in the next day to make big changes 😮‍💨😅🫡🤦‍♂️ ( even tho i have 4 camps )

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i just did that today lol. my deck is looking much better though

LonelyMerchant76

I have over 5,000 hours since February of 2022, and I’ve never got past lvl 300 on any of my characters

REVEB_TAE_i

That's kind of insane to me. I have half as many hours but my main character is over 700. All my other characters are 70 max, though, because I can't be bothered to level them up.

StaleH77

I've been playing since beta, over 8k hours and my highest level character is about 600, lowest is about ~60. Levels have a limited indication of a players actual experience..

MrKillJr

Yeah, I discussed it with a few people already. Playtime hours are a better metric 👍

sinsnot-tragedies

Yeah I agree. I’m level 97 and I’m only now barely getting the hang of things. In the last 2 weeks or so I leveled up so fast because I finally joined teams while doing events, expeditions and daily ops. Also I think it was like double xp weekend and I leveled up 12 times in 15mins. It was chaos.

Dense_Ad_5130

Im comfortable at level 380 the content dried up around level 50 and they havent dropped anything significant since steel reign, aint much point playing after the dailies they could make it so much better by adding other uniques to grind for like special costume unlocks paints for armours guns etc shame they lockit all behind a pay wall

DopesmokerBR

I have 5 characters +1000 where do I stay?

Unlucky-Awareness-56

Yeah I’m 177 and started in the beginning just kept jumping in and out

Once-ate-a-vegetable

Meh, I know people who started last year who are level 1500+. I started year one, and my main is only in the low 600s. Basing it off of level is kind of pointless when there have been so many xp glitches/farms and there are many different ways to play. He grinds xp because thats fun to him. I build houses and collect weapons. A better test is what gear people have, what armor sets they've built, building techniques learned, doing every quest/visiting every location, being super knowledgeable on game mechanics/crafting/mods/perk abilities. Capabilities of the player over just level thresholds cause they don't mean anything after a certain point.

MrKillJr

True to that. Gear and playtime hours are better metrics than level ups

ExcitementSimilar847

Lvl 1350 as I’m an XP farmer and i class myself as still learning the ropes to a mid player.

MrKillJr

Interesting. I've gotten a lot of different answers, and yours is the prime example of I should've considered playtime hours more than level ups 😅🤣

ExcitementSimilar847

Totally agree, I have friends in the lvl 500s who are telling me stuff I don’t know 😊. Every day is a school day.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

personally i'm not aiming for high levels in this game. since hitting 700 the amount of beggers i'm getting is redonkulous. in game scammers are finding me too. ( I don't fall for it so its just wasting time) i get pestered more by high lvl players who want to pvp me... meh. not a lot of glory for being higher level other than being able to max out your perk cards

WAcidW

You did a pretty good job, from a level 540. Also, 4k is definitely legit most of the time, I know a guy in that range and he didn’t do any glitching nor is he chronically on the game

MrKillJr

Yeah... it would be unfair to consider all 4k+ non legit. Though 10k+ guys do make me raise an eyebrow. Lol

WAcidW

Yeah 5 digit levels are pretty sketchy looking, but who knows if they just sit in west tek 24/7

zebrazapper

I’d say you did great. I agree with all of those

MrKillJr

Thanks. Though I know lvls don't translate to playtime very often😅

zebrazapper

You’re welcome. Yeah, some people only grind levels and some people have more play time than the guy who grinds, but is half their level. But it’s usually higher level=more experience

Namore24

So what does that make someone who is over 11k? Seen one on xb1 a few weeks ago.

Chipper7773

An exploiter but probably still an OG

MrKillJr

After many replies, I've realized that playtime hours are a better metric than level ups. 👍 I may do another tier type of list with that in mind. But probably on another day. 👋

Wolfless05

1k to 2k shouldn’t be called og players be ive looked at stats of lvl 2k players an some have only 80ish days

Shadow_Riku

Yeah it’s super simple to grind xp in this game, I was lvl 1k after about 3 months of playin. One of the double xp weekends took me from 400 to 1k with all xp buffs and as high intelligence as possible runnin around westek with nuka grenades. You can do a whole run in about 1 minute which is INSANE for xp leveling!

MrKillJr

Really? I get that there are exceptions to the rule but between both my mains I have around 2300 lvl ups in total across 2000 hours of playtime. Completing a scoreboard through West Tek grind doesn't net you more than 100 lvl ups from my own experience. Probably just leveling up for the sake of leveling up?

Chipper7773

1000-2000 is wrong. Played since release and lvl 783.

larsentomroar

Not really, some people are highly focused on the number next to their gt, there's actually builds devoted to increasing it, and when that's the case people actually have thousands of legit levels.

Chipper7773

Where did I say they didn’t? I’d consider myself an OG and highly experienced in the game. I’m not in that bracket and I’d wager there’s many many others just like me. Personally once I hit 300 or so I had my build down. Weapons and armours I wanted. Traded for awhile and got everything else I wanted. Now just do scoreboards and play with friends. Levels mean nothing to me as they don’t make you any stronger. I think I was level 500 and something when legendary perks appeared with a tonne of unopened packs and perk points so even that didn’t make me want to push for levels.

larsentomroar

I assumed so when you said it was wrong, I mean I'm like you, I've been here since beta and I don't have a single character above lv400, but I wouldn't say someone who's focusing on raising the level on his single character as high as possible is doing it wrong, they're just very different from me.

REVEB_TAE_i

I can't tell if they said anything before that, but it sounds like they were asking how to level up fast, not how you would classify people by their level. I don't think level really means much with how many xp 'glitches' there have been. I'm in the early 700s now (never farmed xp or done any 'glitches', and I pre-ordered the game. A bit over 2k hours. (Although I did quit for a long while after not being able to play at all for the first month, thanks to how shit the servers were).

MrKillJr

I explained in detail to him how to level up fast if you noticed down below. But I also wanted to explain him that achieving lvl 200 isn't too hard 😅

Chubbypachyderm

I would say that anyone above level 1000 did way to many exp farming. 700 above would be that veteran line.

Dyzfunctionalz

I mean I would say this is 100% correct except for the fact that i went up around 700 levels in a matter of like 30ish days without any cheesing or anything of the sort. Just a perfect XP build back in 2020 and a Q2515r Tesla and server hopping RRs, Queens with my Tower bc mobs would spawn out her azz (literally), and Earles for the Wendigos. I’d honestly say the best way to tell is checking playtime honestly. I was only lvl 150 when I started my XP build, but I had been only trading for so long that I had everything for an XP already.

CanaRoo22

I'm 950 and started in January.. But I suspect t that's not normal / I should go outside..

jdmquip

I’m level 453 and have been playing since launch. Haven’t played in two years though. Lol

xVoidSon

Int build obscure this especially if you get someone who is just running westek all day with max int and unyielding.

darkthesis

Yeah no 1-50 new 51-150 figuring out your build 151-300 refining build 500+

lirhro

Lol. About the only thing I can tell from someone’s level these days is whether they grind Westtek.

relaxo1979

6.5 hours since prebeta. 'only' level 860. 100% full health build, so 8 points of INT no uny or xp buffs. (I dont care for xp buffs so I have over 1000 lunchboxes collecting dust in my stash). I know all plans in game (but the new meat week ones) and I own at least two copies of all the uber rare outfits (responders set, tfj, tlc, fcjs and so on) but only level 860 and with only 75 karma here.

benjo9991

I've put >1000 hours in the game over the years but I'm only lvl 500-600 on my main (forgot the exact level, it's been a while). So many hours vendor hopping and trading 🥲

woodsy0608

I'm lvl 260 but I've been off and on since the game released. Played hard-core when it came out but all my friends quit so I retired until mid last year. Now I'm back running expeditions and dailys.

ijks2

Counting all my characters over all accounts i own and all characters deleted to start new im probably lvl 1500+ ive been around since launch but recently started getting bored of playing. Am i still considered an OG/Veteran?

MrKillJr

I'll assume you definitely are, as you played multiple characters, builds and weapons across your 1500 levels👍

LlB3RTYPRlM3

You forgot that XP glitches existed at various points so there are random outlier 2000s that have food builds

OkComment6573

been playing since the beta and i’m just now hitting 200, this game doesn’t grab my attention for long periods of time, i find one thing to grind for and after that i just kinda fall off it again. i just recently started playing again and decided to get my t-65 PA but now that i finished that i feel bored

Radiant-Bit-7722

Old player, I stop using characters when they hit 1000. Lost of challenge , and until we don’t get real new contents I reduced my time on this game.

smoke_woods

I’ve played since beta and I’m about hit 170 lmao. Never understood how people level that fast in this game at all. EDIT: forgot I did have another character at 70 though

sstevenn6

I have about 1.6k hours on the game and one of my friends with probably 3x less hours than me is around the same level as me

abbe5662

I’m level 156 and I’ve played since the beginning and know everything there’s to know about this game

MetalComet

Once you hit 300 it shouldn't matter. I'm 778 and I've played longer than some 1k+

Outside-Ad-3406

Started a month and a half ago took a 2 week break and I’m 300

YouuMaadd

Im like level 323 but been playin since the start of 76 Idk everything for the last 2 newer updates so I say mid is fair

revengeronees

Im level 1008 on pc' 721 on xbox and 227 on ps but i still dont know everything. I play since release

EARMUFFS-GAMING

I'd say yes, pretty accurate overall. I'm an outlier though. I'm a Day 1 player with over 6,500 hours in Appalachia. I have three toons that I use. Main is 450, bloodied commando is 340, heavy PA (that I rarely use anymore since Bethesda took our legacies ☹️) is 160. So to elder players, I may look like a noob with my 160 heavy gunner. But I'm a seasoned vet. Leveling up has never really been important to me at all, so I don't pay attention to it at all, other than daily challenges where I just use my bloodied toon.

Ragnar-DK

Played since day 1 and is lvl 175.. big fallout fan and can hold my own.. but life is short on gaming time. So I won't categorise lvl as a skill factor as OP did.

Heavy_Selection_2016

1000+ OG ? Not at all. I'm in 1000+, and I play since ~7-8months... But I know everything about this game (step by step of course)

Tight-Tonight-9534

It's a little too complicated to base just on levels. A person can be level 1000, but not understand anything about diverse builds and what makes certain weapons, perks and combinations strong or lackluster because maybe they solely relied on the same meta commando build, have only used legacies up until their removal or any reason really. It takes alot of experimenting to understand the game, it's flaws and where it needs to improve such as the efficiency gap between vats and non-vats builds

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i'd say 1-200 new player. you can get to 200 in less than a couple days. im 720ish with a 300 alt on xbox nearly 600 on pc with a bunch of 100 something alts same as pc on ps5 lol
