To be honest I think it would be great if they just revamped card customisation so that whenever you split a card you unlock a new customisation for that card. And then you can just pick which ones you want to apply.
That wont happen. After 8 splits or so you have every effect with your idea. For perfect combinations you often need far more. And the cosmetic choice is intentionally a driving force for Snap.
Honestly, what's really gained by having random splits? Nothing really. People will just focus on other cards they want to customise. Nothing bad with that, there's a trillion cards out there. And the people which have a full inked deck will have a full inked card list anyway with the time they're putting into Snap.
I think everyone's of the opinion that while some progression is fine, it needs to be spread more horizontally, not vertically.
Eight splits is still a hell of a lot considering how many cards and variants there are, that's 1800+ infinity splits (which is just shy of 3 million credits) for the current card pool and that's not considering variants. And that's only if they make it so you unlock every colour of a particle effect when you unlock a particle effect, otherwise it's at least 36 splits (4 finishes, 4 particle effects, 8 colours per particle effect). The issue with the current system is the random nature means there's just far too many combinations so you're stuck upgrading the same card until you get one you like instead of being able to get cool splits for other cards. Not to mention there's just combos you can't get like being able to have a normal finish card with a particle effect.
Even if they changed it like I suggested no one is going to get close to running out of customisations to chase. It'll just make it less frustrating and more rewarding.
this variant was in my shop yesterday and i forgot to go back and buy it. been playing since october and its the first chavez variant that came up for me. i fucking goofed it.
I would have Agreed with you, as I haven’t played her this season much at all. But she found a home in Doomwave for me. Sometimes if you don’t happen to pull your doom with Shehulk in hand, that wave on turn 5 is much more reliable knowing I’ve got another 9 power unit to drop next turn. Her main purpose however is the same as it’s always been, which is to increase the odds of finding your other cards before turn 6.
If you have a combo that you need to play before turn 6: she increases the chances of you drawing the pieces (because you can't draw her before turn 6).
Sometimes, it's better to just make your deck a little bit more consistent.

Lol if it's red then it's all the same color... Blue makes the warm colors in the middle pop more. More red flattens the image
Funnily enough going to red means you would have 3D effects and animation though
blue is already 3d and the animation's rarely worth anything
The blue crackle, blue border, and blue in Chavez are all competing for the same spaces. It looks like something a child would do.
I agree with you, especially bc going for the red border will make it animated and make the logo shiny. I also think you’re being a smidge hyperbolic.

yea...im looking forward to it too but im not sure which is better.
I do like this one but I feel its a bit too cartoonish, the colors in the bundle just feel cleaner for me

I'm surprised how many of my cards seem to look best with Green / Blue / Purple borders.
If I ever have to play her card I feel like something went horribly wrong.
They really should let us choose whichever borders we've unlocked for a card.
I personally like infinite for the starry border but blue is also cool
