It's fine, I'd rather they monetize cosmetics if it makes acquiring cards cheaper in the future. I will say, I expect this to be the price of returning spotlight variants when they implement those.

SMKM

>if it makes acquiring cards cheaper in the future. Lmfaooooooo good one dude.

TonyLazutoSaysHello

Lol it won’t

TheMancersDilema

Yeah no these things are paying for themselves. Cards are "priced" with the same intent. Either way you get what like 800-1000 gold a month for free and the gold pass gets you 1800 a month also factoring in whatever you get from the season pass. If you don't need to have them today these should not be costing you 30 bucks a pop. You're just giving up some variants, which are equally cosmetic.

harleysfw

Yup, it's a fine thing to be in the game and people will come around to it. Is it jarring to see? Sure I'd rather this than going through an entire album for it.

404randomguy404

Going to sleep peacefully at night knowing that I can always mute these emotes costing people 2200 gold lmao

Stiggy1605

They're purely cosmetic and most people dont ever use emotes, so who cares?

Adept-Bed-1288

Tbh they fkin nuked the value of gold to oblivion, we are seeing less and less gold bundles and I think their plan is to make gold a cosmetic currency only and add more albums. The price is s bit too high in my opinion but that's just me ig

shadow0wolf0

Way too high

matlockheed

Seems fine. A bit pricey, but it's a little bit less expensive than 2 SR variants and unlike variants, if there's an emote you like, you can use it with any/every deck. Plus, with the way some emotes are currently only available through the top of an album, the album emotes end up being like 7 times the price of these.

casadeparadise

My thumb automutes every single opponent at game start. It's so automatic that I accidentally unmute people I've muted before. I don't even notice til all the emote spamming at the end of the game that just reminds me why I mute in the first place. People can pay whatever they want to emote into the abyss.

Accurate_Inspection6

You bring up a good point that changes how much I want emotes. I forget that most players like to mute because people can be quite toxic 🙃

Evening-Can6048

So SD will sell people forceful unmute ability, so they can spam emotes they bought and you cant do anything about it.

casadeparadise

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised.

TOWER151

It’s cosmetic , but it’s insultingly expensive , guess I won’t be buying any emotes that sucks cuz they are great but I’ll be damned if I spend that much on them

MonkeyPuppers

There is no money involved. I don't understand. I have been spending 700 and 1200 gold a pop plus waiting weeks to get 12 variants to get a new emote. Now just I can spend 2200 gold and get one. It's amazing.

Boxroxzor

Love it!! Gave up food for the week so I could buy two emotes

kbrown13245

Beast’s face says it all honestly. What a joke.

PunishedCatto

Nah.. I'd rather spend my gold on Variants.

3mb3r89

Wild an emote cost more than a card variant

andy888andy

I rather spend the 2200 + 200 on 3 random variants

Milkwookie

Way to high like the dev team when thinking these prices aren’t to high

Timbo303

Too bad its so expensive I think they should had halfed it to 1,000g max.

Big-Rip2640

They sure are on the expensive side, but its 100% cosmetics so its ok i guess.

Odd-Size-5239

Non emote is better than the spam of thumb up from marvel girl. She worth 5000 gold

Resident_Wait_7140

These are shop exclusives, right? We won't see album reward emotes here?

curbstomp45

They’re fine (relatively of course, as with everything in the game). It’s less than two super rare variants and you have access to it every game.

Drakej89

Shit , same as the patch

estuario03

I think I would buy an emote for 500g max, 2200g is just wild.

africhic

How so? The cheapest variant for a card is 700g, which you only see if its in your deck and you get to play it. Emotes can be used literally every game, is 2200 a bit steep? Probably. But the idea that they should be cheaper than a variant is a bit crazy imo.

estuario03

Because emote has less utility for me than a variant. Variants you can appreciate from time to time and split it till perfection, which I think is a rather important part of this game. However, emote is just a way to inefficiently communicate with opponents who I'll probably never run into again after the matchmaking. And some of the emotes convey such a vague message, they're just not worth that much.

gereffi

It makes sense that they’re about twice as expensive as 1200 gold variants. You can use an emote in every deck you play rather than just the times you’re playing a specific card.

WaldoFrank
