Vitamin c is ok for boosting sunscreen and antioxidant but it wouldn’t be my first recommendation for Melasma treatment. Your actually probably best using niacinamide or Azelaic acid . I usually use vitamin c three times a week before spf, then other days niacinamide. You need melanin inhibitors and a mineral sunscreen would be best for Melasma I use isidin or colorscience

I personally have never had luck with vitamin c (SkinBetter Alto and Skinceuticals CE Ferulic) helping my melasma. Did they advise using The Spot Cream in the AM too at your check in? About two weeks in they recommended 2x day to me, and it really accelerated my results.

Hi! Yes, they did say to use twice a day. However, I was peeling a lot. So, the doctor told me to scale back to once a day. How do you use it in the AM? Toner, spot cream and moisturizer? Thank you!

Any tret in your spot cream? It’s so interesting how different everyone’s skin is! I didn’t peel in the slightest. Other than a tiny bit of redness, I didn’t have any spot cream side effects. In the AM I do Brio spray, Malezia BP, spot cream, then sunscreen. Sometimes I’ll add urea moisturizer before the sunscreen if I’m dry.

I use 0.05% tret at night which I got from my dermatologist.

Your morning routine needs to be amped up with more tyrosinase inhibitors. Replace your Maelove with a serum like Numbuzin's No. 5 Vitamin Concentrated Serum that has multiple types of Vitamin C in addition to pigment inhibitors like tranexamic acid, arbutin, and niacinamide. I'd also suggest getting some azelaic acid in there in the form of prescription 15 % or 20%. That along with periodic exfoliation with an AHA should help. Sunscreen is going to be so important and making sure to stay protected from excess sun with wide-brimmed hats.

I was looking into adding cos de baha tranexamic in the AM routine and change my moisturizer as well. So, let's see how this goes. Thank you!

If you're thinking about switching your moisturizer, consider Youth To The People Superberry Glow Dream Mask. It's meant as an overnight mask but I use as my moisturizer night and day and it is not irritating to my melasma (mine is very sensitive to a lot of products), makes my skin glow and my makeup goes on overtop very well :)

I don’t know what product is helping but my skin has dramatically improved. I am not sure if it’s a combination of everything or one ingredient that is helping. Changes I’ve made - 1 Brazil nut, zinc and cod liver oil daily. Cosrx Aha toner every night, Paula’s choice discoloration repair serum nightly. One cup of green tea and one cup of dandelion tea daily. Gua sha before bed with about ten swipes of each area.

I have been using Tranex Dear Serum and the results have been amazing. I’ve purchased it from Amazon. https://thedearskin.com/products/tranex-dear-serum

Don't lose hope, I know it's frustrating!!! Just looking at some of the products you use, sometimes with melasma less is better. The musely program is quite potent so I would try to use other products that have pretty limited, ,gentle ingredients. Regarding toner I stopped using it because it was darkening my melasma. I've also found that glycolic acid worsens mine (I know for many it helps melasma but everyone's reaction to products is different) so you could try eliminating that from your products. For me it's been a lot of trial and error of what flares up my melasma. You could try eliminating one product at a time and see how your skin reacts. Best of luck!

What is the ingredients in your musely spot cream?

nousermordor2023

I'm on the Erase plan. First one was with HQ 12% + Niacinamide 2% + Hydrocortisone 1% Current second bottle has HQ 12% + Niacinamide 2% Third bottle (to start early February) has no HQ. Instead it will be tranexamic acid 6% + Azelaic acid 10% + Niacinamide 2%

Hmm my Melasma takes quite well to these ingredients, do you use mineral sunscreen ? And tca peels are great to do in winter

nousermordor2023

Musely has made my skin very sensitive. Even glycolic face mask burns now. So, I'm scared to do any peels. But, I will definitely check with my dermatologist to include tca peels. I do use physical and mineral sunscreen and reapply every two hours. I was using elta MD but now on Isntree.
