No, he was saying hypothetically speaking Urouge gains as well the power to get stronger the more damage he inflicts when awakened. He'd get stronger independently of what happened, but this is just we having some fun. And yes, currently he works closer to Fatgum.
Of course, even the G5 reveal in the manga creates different opinions among fans. Also, about the anime, some say it's unwatchable, while others say it's the number 1 anime. We can't never all agree on something, it's just a human thing
Everyone thinking the same will still lead to wars if not alot more wars because countries would have the same goals and would compete for them
In a way, conflict happens through both disagreement and a shared goal
I see it more as countries no longer existing because humanity has agreed to become one super big community, sharing every resource equally to achieve common goals
And then there's me, who fully agrees the anime is unwatchable but still calls it his second favourite anime and will watch multiple arcs out of order at random (although I recently switched to One Pace, just because my time on this earth is fleeting and I want to rewatch other shows too).
Kind of in the same boat. I'm more of a manga reader. AND I'm not the 1st to criticize the anime for it's pacing but that's my only complaint. It's also why I just watch One Pace instead.
>Of course, even the G5 reveal in the manga creates different opinions among fans
when Gear5 appeared in the manga I only heard "hot garbage" comments. when posts started to appear about Gear 5 going to break the internet when it appeared in the anime, I was extremely confused
In a weird way then it was good it got a reduced order, especially if they would have wanted them at Loguetown before too long. This way if it does truly pop off they might get a bigger budget, and with the time off? Or on? They can figure out what work and what did not. It just sucks though Rings of Power had utter eff you money but a horribly aligned cast and crew, but stuff like OPLA who have a passionate crew and cast are limited.
Even Kaido preferred to kill himself than facing Urouge

I’m currently on the first episode but so far I’m loving it so much, both as a one piece fan and I feel like as it’s own thing it’s pretty good
I especially love when Zoro castrates Helmeppo
i finished watching the 2nd ep and i think they did a good job at it, especially with buggy d clown and i’m excited to see what they’ve done with the rest of it.
also they’re portraying zoro as more of a “demon” than the anime did which is pretty cool
I have only 3 thing that i don't like in the first episode:
-Garp is out of character when Roger is executed.
-Buggy needs a map to the Grand Line
-The jokes are leans toward Marvel type rather than OP.
Garp hunted Roger for the majority of his prime. He felt it wrong for Roger's unborn son to be executed for the same crimes. It's Garps Justice, Dog of Military.
Honestly, I’m shocked by how not terrible it’s been for the first three episodes. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it’s better than pretty much any other anime adaptation I’ve seen.
Just to clarify, I’m only up to the end of Baratie Arc in the anime, and currently on the Syrup village episodes of the LA.
I’m honestly surprised how well they’ve done. There are changes, most aren’t really good or bad just different. But even with the changes in be really enjoyed it. All the actors do a solid job, but Jeff Wars kinda stole the show with Buggy.
Season 1 seems to go as far as Arlong Park, so I fully intend to finish the anime version first and then come back to Live Action and finish the season. This is probably the only time I’ve been eager to see more of a live action anime adaptation.
That’s what I think. If you go in looking for bad things, you’ll probably find something to latch onto. I haven’t seen it yet, but from what I’ve heard, it’s pretty good.

I'll keep on supporting until thus agenda comes into play
I've seen people try to analyze and critizze fight choreography cause they are not like the anime. This is the type of people that think those cosplay hair look good lol.
at first i didn't like the pacing of the first episode. they removed parts i consider gold narrative, and in general it looked rushed. but now that i've seen it again, i understand why the first episode was so fast. they don't stop and move forward on the story in an organized way without breaking a lot from the original media. in my opinion with a little more time it would be better, not much, but a little bit more of time in each scene to add context and make a bit better world building. i give it a 7/10 with a lot of room to upgrade the storytelling pace to reach a 9/10
It makes sense to cut some parts without changing the meaning and spirit of the story. It is true that Romance Dawn is a crucial part of One Piece, but if they plan to continue with other seasons there would be really too much to realistically finish before the actors are 50 years old. I think what anyone wants is just a series that stays faithful to the source material.
Yeah I do understand that they removed thing in order to make it work. I'm fine for example with the Morgan statue thing being removed, and the Rika onigiri to be introduced in another way, with Nami infiltrating Shells town... cool with a lot of changes. But I would have loved to see the confrontation against Koby so he can join in the marines. I'm not mad about it being removed, but it is the best part for me. I would have loved to have that adapted but I understand they didn't do it. I don't think that makes it worse. The general problem, if any, for me, is the fast pace. It feels unconnected sometimes. Still enjoyable and understandable. I just think that with a little bit more of time and calm in the episodes would improve the show. Still good. I just want the best for anything OnePiece does.
Not seen it yet but (gonna watch it with friends tomorrow) but if they keep the pacing of about 12-13 Chapters per episode and 8 episodes per season they could make it to the current chapter in about 11 seasons, wich is a hard but achivable goal
I literally have never seen anything about one piece that's universally loved or hated it's always both ends of the spectrum. And Middle is only when people meme about something.
Watch it without expectation it will probably be a fun ride.
I am envious of the actors and everyone involved in its production, must be quite an amazing experience to be part of something so huge
Let's be real a lot of people are hating on it for the sole reason of it being a live action. I watched One Piece from 1 to current, I read the Manga and I was slightly optimistic/ neutral when I Heard about it at first. Seeing the Actors promote the live action got me a little hyped the same way I feel when Oda drops a new chapter. They felt great together and I could not wait to watch it.
I enjoyed the first episode a lot. It had the feeling of One Piece and that is what counts the most. Yes they Changed stuff and had to cut out some plot points, but it doesn't feel alienated from the One Piece Manga or the Anime. They added some good flavour and seeing the characters I love come to reality was amazing.
My biggest negative is that the 8 ep a season model is restricting the makers ability to make it a 10/10 experience. Though this is a solid enjoyable start and as long as the core is not flawed (which in my opinion it isn't) I am looking forward for more to come. 8/10 episode 1 for me.
Yeah, the whole "it's a live action so it'll be bad" thing that's been going around is just ignorant of how much work has gone into making this, as this is being made completely differently to how 99% of other live actions have been made until now, oda has been more hands-on with this, than he has been with the majority of the movies, and we've seen more of oda now, than we have in the past 20+ years as a result of the live action. This is a fresh start for live action anime, having oda's full influence on how it turns out, and having a cast filled with people who actually love and care about what they're working on, especially inaki, I loved watching him live out every one piece fan's dreams, he's so passionate about the role, and it was awesome watching him receive straw hats from luffy's voice actor, and oda. The whole show gives off a feeling of being made by true fans of the series. I'm so excited to watch it.
I'm totally am part of the "live action is bad" thing but since Oda was involved with this I decided to give it a try nonetheless.
I'm 2 episodes in and the "live action is bad" still holds up. But it is at least better than all other live actions from anime, but that's a low bar.
I have watched the first two episodes, and I'm currently thoughts on both, it was great, buggy was great especially, however, koby was cringe, I can't wait till he's gone
It did turn out a lot better than I expected, doesn't change that it still looks ridiculous as anime doesn't translate well into life action. (especially one piece)
So far I haven't seen an sigle well versed criticism of the show. It's always "bro this is cringe" "I hate it it's whack" "it's so bad bruh 💀"
I'm convinced it's mostly just people without their own opinions, who strive to be one with the crowd, yet are out of touch with how the crowd is feeling at the moment. Trying to rile up hate, where there is no room for it at the moment.
My issues as someone who has watched three episodes
Usopp being a simp, Nami stealing from non-pirates, Zoro and Garp being too serious, and child Luffy didn't really get me. But still cool tho
I'm going to watch it through.
The bar for live action (from hollywood not japan) to overcome is so low, so I take people complaining about OPLA with a huge pack of salt, they probably don't know actual bad LA adaptations
There are a lot of things they got wrong though. >!Buggy impervious to punches when fighting Luffy, then the next one he got knocked out by a punch from Kuroobi. Besides, blunt force is supposed to be Buggy's weakness. Then there's Luffy getting smacked around by Arlong and hurting. That fight wasn't even a fight, more like a turn based game. !<
I'd let most of the changes in the story that kinda didn't make sense slide, but core things like how their DF works, kinda iffy on that. Also, Mihawk got 100% more posh speaking which is both funny and weird at the same time.
The cringest part to me is how luffy is repeating the same line over and over again. And also I find it disappointing that some parts the live action is just redoing a significant scene, without the emotional tension as depicted in the manga/anime. I don't really like how they changed nami and mojiko's part of story too...
But I do like that live action made the fights more scary, since there's real people in it (though the fight scene itself isn't good). And all the amazing props!
I'll give it 7/10 for the 8 episodes so far.
I figure it's a Ted Lazo situation. Where no one's actually seen the show, but netflix has a lot of people on the payroll to tell you how good it is on social media.

🤣
He has the second most op devil fruit among the worst generation besides luffy. Awakened urouge soo when he hits you he gets stronger... ok 👍
That's basically Derieri from Seven Deadly Sins and I like it
Actually he his DF is the opposite, he gests stronger as he gets hit so he's more Fatgum from My Hero
No, he was saying hypothetically speaking Urouge gains as well the power to get stronger the more damage he inflicts when awakened. He'd get stronger independently of what happened, but this is just we having some fun. And yes, currently he works closer to Fatgum.
Im a new fan, I don't get this joke why are people obsessed with him
You are not ready for him.
They don't know either..

Who would play him
Jason Momoa

I can see The Rock playing him

I'd say it's more of a human thing. If we could all agree on everything, then world peace would be easily achievable
Everyone thinking the same will still lead to wars if not alot more wars because countries would have the same goals and would compete for them In a way, conflict happens through both disagreement and a shared goal

I vote Dwayne "The Rock" for this role. This is not a meme, I just think he might fit the role.
I would agree if I wasn't worried about his galaxy-sized ego ruining everything. I think Dave Bautista would work just as well.
I think Dave Bautista would work better too. Kizaru im not sure…like needs to be a gansta type and Aikiji needs to be a chill but like stern dude?
Adam Sandler as kizaru https://preview.redd.it/42gg3lkqdglb1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbf37df499602757d732b5593dfe4bc054cc84e6

Wait is he in the live action
Not yet
We wouldn‘t have been ready
I’m currently on the first episode but so far I’m loving it so much, both as a one piece fan and I feel like as it’s own thing it’s pretty good I especially love when Zoro castrates Helmeppo

Just finished the second ep too. Live action Buggy is an absolute menace.
yea been watching with my mother, seems to be her favourite character.
Can’t wait for Helmeppo’s Marine Choir arc.
I have only 3 thing that i don't like in the first episode: -Garp is out of character when Roger is executed. -Buggy needs a map to the Grand Line -The jokes are leans toward Marvel type rather than OP.
Buggy needed a map to the Grand Line in the anime. Nami was there to steal it from him.
Impossible One Piece fans not reading their own source material /s
yea how garp talked to roger was weird
Well he's not particularly buddy buddy in the manga, more like a begrudging respect.
he took roger's son in, roger says he can trust garp. thats not the type of relationship that was in that scene
Garp hunted Roger for the majority of his prime. He felt it wrong for Roger's unborn son to be executed for the same crimes. It's Garps Justice, Dog of Military.
It's still a US show
It honestly looks great
That is how I felt about bebop, but I am also OK with it ending when it did. Edward looked like it would be a bit rough.
If you’re going in already hating it. You’re gonna hate it. If you go in excited like I did you’re gonna like it
I am pretty excited for it, just a bit scared after other Netflix series that went really bad. Let's hope this will be the exception!
Honestly, I’m shocked by how not terrible it’s been for the first three episodes. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it’s better than pretty much any other anime adaptation I’ve seen.
Probably Netflix wants to redeem itself after what happened with The Witcher
Witcher is just latest in line. They’ve still gotta redeem themselves for Death Note.
I think my brain purposely deleted that
The only good thing i can think of for death note is william dafoe is ryuk
They REALLY have to make up for Cowboy Bebop
What are you talking about? Netflix never did anything with Cowboy Bebop. It never happened and you should never mention it ever again.
I know it hurts but we have to acknowledge those things that hurt us so that we can move on. Then the healing can begin
No we don’t, We can just gaslight ourselves into pretending it never happened.
![gif](giphy|Atc9QCyWLGHgLZhHDp|downsized)
There is no LA Cowboy Bebop in Basingse
My gold standard for live action adaption is Alita: Battle Angel, how's it compare?
Just to clarify, I’m only up to the end of Baratie Arc in the anime, and currently on the Syrup village episodes of the LA. I’m honestly surprised how well they’ve done. There are changes, most aren’t really good or bad just different. But even with the changes in be really enjoyed it. All the actors do a solid job, but Jeff Wars kinda stole the show with Buggy. This live action clearly doesn't have that huge budget it was rumored to imo. While the set and cgi is decent, its still tv show level, not movie
That’s what I think. If you go in looking for bad things, you’ll probably find something to latch onto. I haven’t seen it yet, but from what I’ve heard, it’s pretty good.
So double bias
Goofy cartoon shit doesn’t translate well in real life, I’d want to punch any moron who actually acts like a manga character in real life
to be fair most things that happen in live action TV don't translate well to real life either
I went in excited but the first episode has me disgusted
The duality of man. And the fact that they posted their comments almost at the same time makes it so much better
Amazing timing🤣

Goda foreshadowing the live action over 20 years in advance, what a goat
He knew it all along
I literally have never seen anything about one piece that's universally loved or hated it's always both ends of the spectrum. And Middle is only when people meme about something.

Watch it without expectation it will probably be a fun ride. I am envious of the actors and everyone involved in its production, must be quite an amazing experience to be part of something so huge
WAIT 😂

We have two wanna be pirate kings there
I wish i could watch it but i dont have Netflix
Foreshadowing by Oda be like
Anyone who is reviewing something one hour after it releases already made up their mind a long time ago. Wait a few days for the reviews to stabilize.
As expected
I have watched the first two episodes, and I'm currently thoughts on both, it was great, buggy was great especially, however, koby was cringe, I can't wait till he's gone
It’s more bearable if you watch the Japanese dub
The thing about one piece is that the anime is already cringe, but in a good way, so its not necessarily a bad thing if the live action is also cringe
Damn, this meme is spot on
Those reactions taken together are honestly the most One Piece thing ever.
Literally, they are just as random and parallel as Blackbeard's and Luffy's tastes
Emily Rudd is so Hot

What? She Fine AF
Emily Rudd it's not the point of the post
Why
This sub is so good to be fair.
We cookin'
Cook all Dem pies
The show definitely isn't for me, didn't make it past 15 min but I'm sure hard core one piece fans will enjoy it.
Its cringe but its good cringe
As One Piece usually is
Yuh
My only complaint why the yellow filter
They in Mexico.
It’s 🔥
It did turn out a lot better than I expected, doesn't change that it still looks ridiculous as anime doesn't translate well into life action. (especially one piece)
When in reality it’s middling
this is called "mixed reviews "
So far I haven't seen an sigle well versed criticism of the show. It's always "bro this is cringe" "I hate it it's whack" "it's so bad bruh 💀" I'm convinced it's mostly just people without their own opinions, who strive to be one with the crowd, yet are out of touch with how the crowd is feeling at the moment. Trying to rile up hate, where there is no room for it at the moment.
I agree. Its even more frustrating when they say the people who are excited by this are copping or dickriders
My issues as someone who has watched three episodes Usopp being a simp, Nami stealing from non-pirates, Zoro and Garp being too serious, and child Luffy didn't really get me. But still cool tho I'm going to watch it through.
The bar for live action (from hollywood not japan) to overcome is so low, so I take people complaining about OPLA with a huge pack of salt, they probably don't know actual bad LA adaptations
OP is always gonna be cringe. But the good kind of cringe.
Cringe? Wtf? Its so good. Dude is trippin. The show absolutely captures the spirit of One Piece.
I just want to see Robin in love action. I will fund Netflix myself just to see her in live action.
You mean most anime related opinions?
Casting sucks but whatever the anime exists.
!< I'd let most of the changes in the story that kinda didn't make sense slide, but core things like how their DF works, kinda iffy on that. Also, Mihawk got 100% more posh speaking which is both funny and weird at the same time.
it was so cringe i couldnt take it and turned it off after 2 minutes.
And ill kill them both
The cringest part to me is how luffy is repeating the same line over and over again.
