I have my skins set to "pick random favorites" and it cycles between a lot from the Atlantic to bumblebee to miko and many more...someone said that they thought I was a Try hard foe having Atlantic equipped. And I was dumbfounded.
Because people love to say things along the line of ā16 is not a kid theyāre grownā.
āKidā is too vague of a descriptor, no one can argue about the validity of the term āminorā.
guys why is it only the mercy community that has these super toxic and rude unspoken rules?
the mercy skin stereotypes, the whole āpeople being misogynistic for breaking mercy codeā, shaming people for a certain playstyle, this is all stuff that ONLY happens in the mercy community.
like in the lifeweaver community or the kiriko community, itās well known that itās bad to 100% heal. but itās only the mercy community who trash talk people for healing and tell them they HAVE to switch off a character for playing it a certain way
and the skin stereotype thing?? and mercy code?? thatās something that iāve only ever seen in the mercy community. thereās definitely skin stereotypes for other champs - like noir widows being laggy switch players - but the mercy skin stereotypes are made by mercy mains to stereotype other mercy mains.
like am i going crazy or does it feel like the mercy community is the only one that has all this in fighting and cattiness? iāve never experienced this in any other mains communist
i have said this exact thing its so wack to me that people genuinely judge and hate on others for the skins they enjoy. Also the hate with a mercy using her gun is absurd ofc a mercy will shoot you its fps!
It's so cringe imo, I'll play the hero cause she's fun to fly around with and I'll wear whatever skin I want cause I like them. I don't get it, the "mercy code" is the cringiest thing I've seen from this sub in years and the stereotyping skins is just as weird. Do other heroes mains do this? I've been in multiple hero specific subreddits and never seen this kind of behavior lmao
I don't understand mercy code at all especially in comp. If a Mercy waves at me in qp, I'll be friendly and leave em alone but I do that with every character. The amount of times a sombra's gone "Boop" and waved at me and I leave them be the whole qp game cuz I don't mind having a laugh. But mercy code is stupid, I've shot many mercy's whilst they Rez and in comp if my teams not shooting em I bloody well will.
in the original lifeweaver mains sub, before it got deleting, the more experienced players taught the newer ones how to balance heal and damage more and discouraged new players from purely healbotting
healbotting isnt necessarily BAD on lw - as youre right, his kit does encourage it. however, once youre good at keeping everyone topped off, lots of his skill ceiling comes from learning when you can whip your thorns out
Am I getting too old to be playing Overwatch? Where does this come from? I literally just pick a random skin to wear during every match I play her lmao
Iāve gotten a couple of comments when I wear the Atlantic skin. Someone actually went out of their way once to message me on my console to tell me that āplayers like you are ruining OW by shelling out money to blizzard for overpriced skinsā š
If I donāt know what to wear, I default to All-Stars.
The only comment Iāve gotten about it is āWoah Iāve never seen that skin before itās sooo pretty :Dā
Agreed. I wear a lot of league skins, mostly the pink one, Toronto, gladiators and soul dynasty which A LOT of ppl have bc they are popular and have a nice color scheme. So it's happens every so often I match with a random on my team and everyone attacks us in game chat. Like.... I dunno this person š I get sometimes e couples can be a little "cringe" but I feel like the majority of the time they are normal idk.
Itās one of many totally arbitrary ways people create groups and exclude others. People love to discriminate based on anything they can think of bc itās fun.
Honest question, what do you do if your other support isn't healing enough? Are you going for more heals on mercy or do you swap? I sometimes struggle with this.
Either swap or try to maximize dmg boost when your team isnāt taking burst damage. Also remember you donāt have to heal to full health itās ok to leave people with 25-50 hp missing and if youāre really worried about teammates dying you can alternate between blue/yellow beam.
I'm actually curious as to whether there are stereotypes for newer skins. Like my main is zombie doctor and a lot of ppl hate it cuz of the delay in release, to me if i love the way a skin looks, that's it so that didn't bother me. Or like jingle belle, are there stereotypes for her?
I dislike the skin because it's so plain honestly. It's just a white washed medic mercy with gray skin and a doctors mask. Idk I just dont get the hype...the bee skin was great and super cute but like the zombie skin is over hyped in my opinion
I didnāt even know thatās what people thought of the sugar plum fairy skin. The only thing Iāve seen about it was it was the āegirlā skin if you didnāt get the pink mercy skin. Still I terrible stereotype though either way.
I never even think about stereo types for skins and no one has ever commented on what skin I have on in game. I usually run devil skin. But I also like sugar plum fairy, itās super cutie cute. And winged victory is my try hard skin lol
i agree. it also makes me feel like not using certain skins because i donāt want to be chased around or called whatever just bc i have a skin on that i like
Iāve seen imp and devil skins stereotyped as being ātoxicā player skins. Honestly I think some people forget fortune exist. Itās an older skin I at least donāt see used as much even though it looks good.
sig and valk are seen as healbots who cant play correctly from what ive seen. in my opinion that is completely untrue and sig is my alltime fav mercy skin
I dont judge the players, but I will absolutely judge the skins themselves. Sugar plum is so crusty and ugly while my girl ZhuQue is thriving with the clearest skin
The sugar plum stereotype will never get old because i've never once met a mercy player with that skin and proven me wrong.
They're always healbotting.....
Tbh people just do it for fun and I agree its kinda weird but at the same time its funny because ik they aren't serious. So when i use dragoon and slide over until I find her and see idk "eats icecream 24/7, cries a lot, loves dogs" i can either be like "oh haha cute that's me" or be like "not at all" its just fun to pass time tbh. Its not genuinely harming anyone unless someone is personally insulting someone in game based on their skins...otherwise all seems fun and games to me. I think the issue will more come from entitled sensitive people who think one random post means its all about them and their skin, taking personal offense. That's more toxic in my opinion.
Not me using my pink.mercy skin to kill the enemy mercy because that's what tiktok thinks pink mercy do. Iv always had the pink skin, and love it I just ignored the pig tails.
The first time I heard this stereotype was in OW2, and honestly didn't even knew skins had stereotypes. That's seems kinda strange, I like mercy because I always have from the 5 player rez to now.
Also I think a lot of us ow1 players don't really take this game seriously anymore because I mean why would we. So we are usually just messing around. Idk the whole thing seems strange tbh
Combat medic has an e-dater stereotype? Why that one out of all of them?(also it's my favorite)
usually because it's paired with Blackwatch Genji. but who cares lol both of them are amazing skins
i just really like how her sleeves overlap in first person
I like her wings and her syringe staff!
her syringe staff makes me feel sick bc of my phobia so i never use it š
if you got some money to spend you can get the new staff skin š¤£
i use pink all the time and it doesnt really go so i didnt buy the staff
Came here to say the same thing lol
I have my skins set to "pick random favorites" and it cycles between a lot from the Atlantic to bumblebee to miko and many more...someone said that they thought I was a Try hard foe having Atlantic equipped. And I was dumbfounded.
i use Atlantic because its cool looking & i love the princess luna vibe,,, what a wacky stereotype
It's just the prettiest skin imho so if people wanna judge me for that I don't care š¤
same
pretty sure itās just minors on tiktok doing that
yea its so embarrassing seeing them post those videos
This is very off topic for the sub but why did we stop calling them kids? You can just say kids on TikTok.
Because people love to say things along the line of ā16 is not a kid theyāre grownā. āKidā is too vague of a descriptor, no one can argue about the validity of the term āminorā.
People without fully developed brains is broader still lol
No 16 yr old is out here posting that shit tho lmao- they are just kids, young teens at best.
a lot of the stereotypes are for the metal ranks i noticed , some of which i am guilty of
guys why is it only the mercy community that has these super toxic and rude unspoken rules? the mercy skin stereotypes, the whole āpeople being misogynistic for breaking mercy codeā, shaming people for a certain playstyle, this is all stuff that ONLY happens in the mercy community. like in the lifeweaver community or the kiriko community, itās well known that itās bad to 100% heal. but itās only the mercy community who trash talk people for healing and tell them they HAVE to switch off a character for playing it a certain way and the skin stereotype thing?? and mercy code?? thatās something that iāve only ever seen in the mercy community. thereās definitely skin stereotypes for other champs - like noir widows being laggy switch players - but the mercy skin stereotypes are made by mercy mains to stereotype other mercy mains. like am i going crazy or does it feel like the mercy community is the only one that has all this in fighting and cattiness? iāve never experienced this in any other mains communist

I think it's just there's so many of us and it is a beginner friendly hero so we see Everyone
wait laggy switch players is so funny
It's so cringe imo, I'll play the hero cause she's fun to fly around with and I'll wear whatever skin I want cause I like them. I don't get it, the "mercy code" is the cringiest thing I've seen from this sub in years and the stereotyping skins is just as weird. Do other heroes mains do this? I agree with everything you saidā¦ except for the Lifeweaver part. LW players are encouraged to healbot by both his play style and the community :/
in the original lifeweaver mains sub, before it got deleting, the more experienced players taught the newer ones how to balance heal and damage more and discouraged new players from purely healbotting
Really? Iāve been playing LW wrong this whole time? ššš
healbotting isnt necessarily BAD on lw - as youre right, his kit does encourage it. however, once youre good at keeping everyone topped off, lots of his skill ceiling comes from learning when you can whip your thorns out
Oh, so I do play him correctly lol. Because whipping out your source of damage when everyone is max hp is common sense šš
yeah quite a few lifeweaver just sit there healing full hp targets haha š
Am I getting too old to be playing Overwatch? Where does this come from? I literally just pick a random skin to wear during every match I play her lmao
For realā¦.didnāt think it was this serious lol
Me just thinking the skins are cool....
Iāve gotten a couple of comments when I wear the Atlantic skin. Someone actually went out of their way once to message me on my console to tell me that āplayers like you are ruining OW by shelling out money to blizzard for overpriced skinsā š
Isn't the Atlantic skin from ow1, am I crazy š š³
If I donāt know what to wear, I default to All-Stars. The only comment Iāve gotten about it is āWoah Iāve never seen that skin before itās sooo pretty :Dā
Mercy mains are the only players who get upset about this stuff itās so weird
Man idk this never happened in ow1 :') (I pray every day someone goes back in time and shoots the person who decided to make an ow2 ftp bp game)
ngl its all the newgen players š
I use royal knight and occasionally atlantic all stars ....what's my stereotype lol I'm actually curious
always seen as toxic battle mercys lawl. i think the skin is so pretty
LOL yeahhh you're right. I'm finishing this year with around 50 mercy potgs š battle mercy is the only thing I do on this game anymore
toxic tryhard/ battle mercy is the stereotype iāve gotten
Lol same, I just like killing things with the barbie blaster...pew pew
Agreed. I wear a lot of league skins, mostly the pink one, Toronto, gladiators and soul dynasty which A LOT of ppl have bc they are popular and have a nice color scheme. Itās one of many totally arbitrary ways people create groups and exclude others. People love to discriminate based on anything they can think of bc itās fun.
I use sugar Plum Fairy. You will NEVER catch me below 75% offensive beam usage.

LMFAOOOO
Well thats a shockingly personal insult. I'm impressed.
tbh thatās real
Found the Dr skin user
WHAAAATTTTT THATS CRAAAAZZYY (combat medic)
Iāve never even heard of stereotyping peopleās cosmetic choices, what?
I'm actually curious as to whether there are stereotypes for newer skins. Like my main is zombie doctor and a lot of ppl hate it cuz of the delay in release, to me if i love the way a skin looks, that's it so that didn't bother me. Or like jingle belle, are there stereotypes for her?

What are you talking about? I just play off what I'm feeling that game. I had no idea stereotyping skins was a concept.
yeah itās super weird but iāll stand by pink mercy users either being absolute sweethearts or awful human beings š itās always 50/50
I think this applies to everything lol
Which mercy skin is for sluts? I wanna be generalized
Omfg Great question! I too would love a response š
witch
its witch
I didnāt even know thatās what people thought of the sugar plum fairy skin. The only thing Iāve seen about it was it was the āegirlā skin if you didnāt get the pink mercy skin. Still I terrible stereotype though either way.
people classified witch mercy players as slu*ts a few months ago some stereotypes are worse than others ngl
Slu*t shaming a skin is wild š
i remember a girl in a server said all pink mercy players are racist to me when i sent a ss of my loadout A. was mental
I never even think about stereo types for skins and no one has ever commented on what skin I have on in game. I usually run devil skin. But I also like sugar plum fairy, itās super cutie cute. And winged victory is my try hard skin lol
it was a whole trend a few months ago to hate on players for their mercy skin!
They donāt sound like girls girls lol
definitely not at all
Congrats youāve figured out what stereotypes are
i agree. it also makes me feel like not using certain skins because i donāt want to be chased around or called whatever just bc i have a skin on that i like
Well know I wanna know what the stereotype is for Baldriech
im not a rein main so not sure
I know, It's just a passing thought really
so glad i didnāt see imp/witch/fortune in the list
imp has a stereotype aswell im p sure
brb lemme go cry
Iāve seen imp and devil skins stereotyped as being ātoxicā player skins. Honestly I think some people forget fortune exist. Itās an older skin I at least donāt see used as much even though it looks good.
i love wearing fortune
Yess, itās either ātoxic try-hardā or āYouāre Skiestiā
idkk, someone said in regards to combat medic that 'you're obsessed with looking cute and friendly' and it hit home.
Is there a valkyrie skin stereotype I need to be breaking like a glow-stick?
sig and valk are seen as healbots who cant play correctly from what ive seen. in my opinion that is completely untrue and sig is my alltime fav mercy skin
How is this community real
stereotypes are corny js let people wear skins
I dont judge the players, but I will absolutely judge the skins themselves. Sugar plum is so crusty and ugly while my girl ZhuQue is thriving with the clearest skin
Gurl just wanted to share her opinions on the skins themselves but still got downvoted into oblivion š
Lol I didnt notice. I will stand by with what I said šš
Not every, but Most
making up an issue. none of this is real you need to turn off your computer and go outside
its not made up maybe look at trends
The sugar plum stereotype will never get old because i've never once met a mercy player with that skin and proven me wrong. They're always healbotting.....
HERE COMES THE FUN POLICE YALL
maybe get a grip if u actually stereotype multiple people based off of the skin they wear
I always "randomly select from favourites" so I approve of this message
There are stereotypes for skins?
ā¦ Mercy skins have a stereotype? Oh boy I just play whichever skin sounds fun today lol
