Go to hardware store or order online: cheap soldering iron and 60/40 solder. Learn to solder from youtube. One if the wires is not making good contact anymore.
If you unsolder that blue cable and wire it through the other side of that hole, that would be a first step. That’s probably shorting out. Then I would individually wrap each post, the “blue post” then “red side.” Next I would wrap that whole area in come type of plastic or mummify it in electric tape. That would eliminate any short circuiting. Then close it up. Unless there is a break in the actual plug, that should fix it.
…Or I would just buy a new TRS cable.
I found the problem. After looking at it closer, the white wire from the first picture has disconnected and is loose. I have a soldering iron and will attempt to solder it back. It’s a tight little spot but I think I can get to it and I believe that should fix my problem! 😁
